Spent most of the day in the garden, tidying up all the briars and brambles I'd cut, and making a bonfire of them. Also started clearing out the upper story of the old cottage in the garden, and found lots there to add to the bonfire. While all this outside work is good for me, and helps while away the time spent on lockdown, I'm finding myself quite tired at the end of the day. Got potatoes and carrots steaming at the moment. Will make a cheese omelette to go with them. That'll be dinner sorted for tonight. Although it's now 9:15pm, so it will be a late dinner. Might video chat with a friend or two later. I've hardly spoken to a soul all day. Hey Marty it's always nice to work in the garden and at least it's good tiredness. Was the weather good for you too? A couple of days ago it was still freezing in the morning and quite cold all day kind but today it was 20°C this afternoon and the morning was nice too. 7

Although the forecast was for showers, the day actually stayed dry. It was cold to begin with, and felt colder due to a fairly strong breeze, but the temperature got up to around 11°C later in the day. Clouds and sun. I'm told to expect showery weather tomorrow until Monday afternoon; but hopefully the met office have it wrong again and it stays dry. Mind you, it's hardly rained since the builder fixed the leaky gutter on the roof. I wouldn't mind a real prolonged downpour, just to see for sure that the leak has stopped. 5

I've hardly spoken to a soul all day. I've had a weird day... very lethargic. Better now... went for a walk in the woods and sat on my bench and listened to the sounds of birds... and Cookie crushing dead leaves. I have a ton of stuff to do, but don't feel motivated. It doesn't help that I have to be careful of my injured thumb. 2 4 1

Popular Post Headstall Posted April 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) I was going to work on a story I've had sitting for ages, and when I opened it (it's all on one document), I found it was missing at least two lengthy scenes. This isn't the first time it's happened, and I can rewrite them, but does anyone know how it happens? Like, is there a delete shortcut I might be hitting by accident... like Control and another key? Or is there something in Word I could be doing? It's been a while since I opened the doc, and I don't know what I did last... I might have copied and pasted things around... arghhhh Edited April 4, 2020 by Headstall 1 6

I'm reminded of a piece by Welsh poet William Henry Davies... _____________ Leisure William Henry Davies What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. (From: Songs Of Joy and Others, published 1911) 7

(From: Songs Of Joy and Others, published 1911) I did a whole lot of nothin' today. I needed the day to process and decompress from the stress of yesterday. I'm much calmer about the furlough now and have a plan in place to keep myself occupied. I'm going to treat Mon-Fri like a regular workweek and maintain the hours I'm used to working. I'll choose a project per day and complete it during my normal work hours. This way I'll have a routine in place and feel like I'm accomplishing something. My first project on Monday will be organizing and deep cleaning the kitchen. 2 4 1

I went shopping and spent a bit too much And it’s not true, I am not stockpiling peanut paste, seriously... I always have Vegemite and peanut paste in the house and I am running low on Vegemite, so what have I bought the last two times shopping??? 7
