It was pretty stressful but okay. Dad will be heading into transition care for up to 12 weeks. This gives us a bit of breathing space. Dad is a bit peeved that he doesn’t get a choice of venue but I think it is more important to get him the treatment he needs.  To really sure what the future will bring but we are looking at modifications to his house as well as residential care options so we have all bases covered.

My sister and I had a long chat after about options and planning and stuff. The OT seemed to be more interested in getting rid of Dad rather than find him a good place to be. She didn’t seem too happy when my sister and I started to suggest places closer to me.

A jail cell will be a very different experience to the 5 star hotel room he was supposed to stay in.

Idiot. Really some people really think they are above all this. 

Though something a bit similar happened in France. An old lady was fined cause she got caught in front of her husband's nursing home without "a valid reason". This one was heartbreaking. After years of marriage, she'd visited him every days at the home and after more than a month apart couldn't take it anymore and just wanted to feel a bit close to him even though she knew she wouldn't see him. 

The news last night did a segment about elderly people in nursing home who are letting themselves die, not wanting to eat and such because they are depressed without visits from their family. 

We are lucky grandpa's nursing home is sending us pictures and videos every 10 days and my aunt send them pictures of him when he was young and the carers show them to him and he recognized himself and told a story about the picture.

We're in the midst of a thunderstorm. It was warm, 70/21° and muggy when we woke up but the forecast is for a front to pass through and bring cooler than normal temps. Some areas could see lows drop into the 30's though no expectation of frost. That's particularly unusual for SC in mid-April. Sounds more like my home in PA.

But I doubt they'd be suitable clothing for trying to remove briars, brambles, and brushwood from a still overgrown corner of the garden...
