I'm tired. I started breaking new ground in the upper garden today for my planned vegetable plot. I found it hard going, turning over what is effectively virgin ground. I'm not as young as I was the last time I did that (about 33 years ago), and wasn't even sure I would be able for it at my age. But I'm managing, just not as quickly as I once would have done. I think having a really good, stainless steel spade helped. I bought it about 25 years back. It was expensive, but well worth the money. I reckon it will take me maybe another three or four days digging before I can start planting my potatoes, peas, beans, and other vegetables. But I'll be happy to be be growing some of my own food again.

Chat yous all again on the morrow!  

Now is when you really have need of a well-muscled twenty-something. What, no, not for turning that virgin ground, rather to massage your sore tired old muscles.

I heard a kitten in the early morning (1am) when I let Cookie out and it sounded like it was on the patio beside the garage. By the time I went in a got boots and a coat, the crying had stopped and I couldn't see it anywhere. Found them this afternoon... up in the wall of the garage. I could hear two at least, mewling, but I didn't go up to look as it would have involved a ladder.   Mom is doing fine... I saw her come out of her den, and she ate. She's identical to her mother and a litter mate, and she picked a spot a few feet down from the same wall she was born in.

During the little time it took me to pick out the leeks and move the soil around - so about 20 minutes - this afternoon I've got sunburned. But from the way the sun was coming and the way I was standing it's only on my right shoulder and the back of my neck/top of my back  

Also mom told me to geta shower before dinner cause I've got dirty feet turns out it's the tan marks of my flip-flops

The sky is clear so we're going to try to see the satellites 🤞 Edit: we didn't see anything. Just the moon which is thin and bright and the ISS
