Def warming up here, 23 over the weekend, 27 yesterday and today, then cooler for the rest of the week. It was a shame I only got a short walk at lunch. Clear blue skies here. Spring is here

I just had something really strange happen.  I heard what sounded like knocking on my front door, but it was a really strange pattern and sound. I looked out my living room window, but nothing was there, even though the sound clearly continued.  O.O  The cats were staring at the door too, like WTF?  So I thought maybe something had gotten trapped in between the wood door and the screen door.  Then I saw a bird fly away, so I think a bird was divebombing either the gutters or the part above the door.  Now that I think about it, maybe the bird got caught in the gutter and was trying to free itself and finally did.  My heart is pounding now...

Totally.  If it had been at night, I would have called the police.  There's been lots of reports in the area of break-ins in both houses and cars.

I'd say poltergeist but don't they come through the tv? Truly, I am sorry you were freaked and glad it didn't happen during the night. That would have been disconcerting to the extreme.

G'day y'all. A brief bit of autumn arrived today. Woke to a chilly morning, 50/10°. The day is bright though cool, it's only reached 64/18° at mid-afternoon.

I'm home alone. Thistle is having his teeth cleaned today so I dropped him at the vet at 8am. Apparently Yorkies and Yorkie mixes are prone to dental issues requiring regular dental cleanings. It seems inordinately quiet without him here.

I spent a couple hours clearing some saplings from the far lower yard this morning. My dad is renting a chipper for the day Saturday and we're going to work up a large brush pile. I needed to create a space to blow the wood chips where they can cure over the winter. Next spring I will use them as mulch under my pines. I feel good about the progress I'm making cleaning up the outdoor space around my yard. It looks really good.

Gonna relax now. I have a nasty migraine developing.
