She's well but today is difficult. We had a call early this morning that her youngest sister died. We've been expecting it as she'd been placed on 24 hour hospice care early this week. Still it's hard. The thing we are focusing on is the last nearly two years were difficult for my aunt. She had fallen and struck her head just after New Years 2018 and went from being a vital active woman who played tennis every day and taught Pilates to being mostly invalid. She and her husband, my uncle loved to dance. They danced at my son and dil's wedding. A few days later while still FL mum and I visited them at their home in Naples, FL. She and we spent an afternoon touring the Botanical Garden. I have pictures of she and mum admiring the thousands of orchids growing there. Whenever someone here mentions orchids I am reminded of that day. It was the last time we were able to do anything like that. I'm sorry that more answer than you expected but it's the first I've gotten to "talk" about my aunt. She was a bit more than 15 years younger than mum but looked so much alike that seeing her was like seeing my mum when I was younger.

My tradesman arrived today. He has the new door in place now, but has to come back tomorrow to finish sealing around it.

And all the earlier talk of Mums and Aunts has me quite teary eyed here. I know I'm going to miss my own Mam this Christmas. Until she died, she was the reason I always went home to England every Christmas, and since she died my siblings and I have always held her in our thoughts and hearts when we would meet over Christmas. Unfortunately we shall have to share those thoughts with each other remotely, and online this Christmas, as this cursèd pandemic means we can't meet up in person.

We've already made a promise that once things return to some sort of normality and we can meet up again, we're going to have one huge(!) Christmas celebration: with cards, decorations, presents, mince pies, Christmas cake and pudding, carol singing, and all the other usual trimmings of Christmas. Even if that doesn't happen until next September!

Yup those end of the year celebrations will have a strange feeling to them... but it's good to make plans to celebrate in the future. It's important to keep having faith and hope
