I just wanted to explain why I'm so quiet. Be well, my friends. Under normal circumstances this time of year can be difficult. We're definitely not functioning under normal circumstances so this year it seems doubly if not more difficult. Perhaps if the weather allows take a long walk outdoors with Cookie or give that lovely mare of yours an extra brushing. Get out of the house and breathe some fresh air. I know you're working diligently to prepare a space for your son but I think you might benefit from a day off. Do something different. Break the routine you're in. Are you permitted to take a drive with no intended destination but just for the sake of taking a drive? Ignore the news, trust me, if the Emperor of Texas really does invade Canada you'll know. Play some lively music, watch a silly movie or read something entertaining purely because it's mindcandy. Mum would suggest you eat something you don't normally allow yourself. Don't over indulge but give yourself a treat. Ask your daughter when shops for groceries next if she might find some flower bulbs you could plant in a pot. I grow amaryllis and paperwhites indoors this time of year. In the depth of winter I need that bit of color for my own sense of well-being. I know you know all this but sometimes it seems we can get stuck inside our heads. Sorry if the pep talk is too much. Just remember you are loved and cherished. 1 7

I do know all this stuff... and yeah, I am driven to get rid of this weight hanging over my head, but I want my son to come home. I'm better toady, although I'm not at all motivated to get my new chapter posted. I'm just having a cup of Lemon Balm tea and trying, and failing, not to think. I played ball with Cookie at sunup this morning. She makes me laugh... I don't think Border Collies have the best nose for finding their balls under the snow. I never have trouble finding mine. Love you too, dugh. 6 1

And sad news about Geoff. ❤️ Although I might have come across as a bit of a rock 'n' roller back in the day, I was also a fan of the likes of The New Vaudeville Band, The Temperance Seven, Tiny Tim, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, and similar. I just loved their cheeky Britishness, and the way they just seemed to refuse to emulate the traditional pop (pap?) of the day. Edited January 4, 2021 by Marty typo 4
