Popular Post raven1 Posted September 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2023 I'm glad that Max is comfortable talking with you about school and hope he doesn't have a problem with his science partner. It is really great that he wants to help you pick and cook meals. It's a very valuable skill. Mom was a great cook but between work, home, and tutoring my dyslexic younger brother, had little time to teach me how to cook. I miss her cooking. I share your opinion about foster parents like the one you describe. I saw a lot of that when teaching. Sorry to hear how Max was treated. I bet he feels like he won the lottery after you and Morgan adopted him. 6

Her cooking skills left much to be desired, but according to Max, she was respectable in every other aspect of her duties. The first time I asked him what he wanted for dinner, Max shrugged and said "I'm good with whatever." He believed his opinion wouldn't be taken into consideration, so he didn't feel like he should contribute to the discussion. Well, I fixed that soon enough. I took an old hat and some pieces of paper. I then wrote down the names of some countries or cities on the paper. France, China, Brazil, Brussels, Athens, Santa Fe, and so forth. Then I asked Max to pick one paper from the hat, and we would look for a recipe or meal to make for dinner, based on the region he chose. I often asked for his help with cutting veggies, or measuring liquids, etc. From there, it was easy to encourage him to be curious and try new things. I may have created a monster, though, because I wasn't prepared for the escargot he ordered at a brunch place in town. 1 4

Popular Post Drew Espinosa Posted September 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2023 @spike382's bullying me again! 😭 All I did was send him a picture of someone wearing a shirt with "The rumors are true... I'm a bottom" written across the front, and this is how he responded! Spoiler 8

You and Max can share the platter, then. I, however, will stick to pancakes or an omelet for my brunch. Edited September 27, 2023 by Page Scrawler 6

I've never had the courage to try. That was an option as an appetizer one evening on the last cruise I went on (this was a long time ago now). Anyway, my bro-in-law went for it, but I just couldn't do it. Considering his reaction, he didn't share your opinion. I did eat frog legs earlier that week, delicious, highly recommended. 6
