She does not need radiation... she was able to keep half her thyroid, and just needs to be checked in six months... he was very positive the cancer is behind her. Jeez, I hate writing that word.    I am so relieved I've been crying for half an hour. And... I'm doing it again. She's an amazing mother and person, and my son adores her. We all do... and she is astonishingly beautiful. My son hit the jackpot... and we are blessed she's come through this okay.

HEY! While it seems most know that guy Phil. The area where I grew up has a much larger PA Deutch population than western PA and celebrating Groundhog Day is tradition. Also, the earliest tradition in Germany actually favored the badger (isn't MI the "badger state") but those aren't prevalent in eastern PA. Instead they switched to another hibernating mammal the groundhog. A member of the marmot family. Actually, forecasting the weather on February 1/2 is a long held Celtic custom. Imbolc is celebrated then, being one of the four cross days. The others are celebrated on May 1, August 1st and Nov. 1st. Cross days are the mid point between the solstice and the equinox. Now, wouldn't it have been better to simply nod and smile and avoid this lecture. Oh, there will be a quiz that counts as half your grade.
