My best friend moved to the USA (fortunately not to Texas) when I turned thirteen, and he twelve. We reconnected years later through Facebook. He came out to me, I came out to him (what were the chances!). Our friendship remains the same. Last year, he came to the country for a few days, and asked if I was up to meet him and his husband. And no, I didn't make any moves on the man (what kind of frog do you think I am?!).

I'm glad there's at least one person in the world who's known me for what feels like forever, and still considers me a friend. 

My son and his best friend have been best friends since they were four. They're now 42. My stepdad and his best friend were lifelong pals.
