Maybe let your dad handle the day to day for a while, and at least try to pass your exams... if he needs you, he can ask. Sorry you're having to go through this, but hopefully it will all work out. And don't feel guilty about anything... you are an awesome daughter. Good advice 2 2

There are three big trees inside the paddock. They are a small to medium sized sweet yellow apple, yet, I do nothing with them. I don't use pesticides, so a lot of them get wormy, but I really should consider harvesting them. Meh... probably too much work... 3 2 3

My peaches do ok but apple doesn't seem to live long enough to produce fruit. 19 hours ago, Page Scrawler said: I like to roast it simply with salt, pepper, and olive oil, then pair it with a nice Hollandaise sauce. You can keep the sauce, and I use garlic salt instead of plain. Try wrapping three or four spears in bacon and broiling till bacon is done! 3 3

I have literally thousands of apples on the ground every year, although I took down one tree a year ago in winter, because it was growing into the hydro line. I think I still have eight good sized trees left, five of which I didn't know about. My horse likes them. 1 6

And I've done bacon-wrapped potatoes, Mac and cheese, apple slices, and even Brussels sprouts. I don't know why I haven't tried it with asparagus before. 3 1 2

I've nothing against hollandaise except I don't usually want that rich a sauce. Remember dear boy that most of us are twice your age. We need to consider things like sodium, fat, etc. in our diets. When I was your age I ate those things you're so fond of now not so much. Enjoy them while you may. 1 6

Lately I been slicing the zucchini adding extra thin slices of ripe bell pepper then tossing that with a good olive oil and then seasoning with a spice mix call "onion obsession" that I buy from Tea and Spice Exchange. It has dried onion, shallots, chives, sea salt, parsley, etc. I allow it to sit for about an hour. To cook I heat a skillet until hot. Toss in the veg, stir, then add a splash of white wine or water, just enough to generate steam. Slap a lid on the pan and let everything steam for a couple minutes until al dente. Leftovers are excellent served cold. Edited May 1, 2019 by dughlas 1 5
