brainstorming assistance needed

In this story I'm writing, one "branch" of the Dragon family tree is currently known as Imperial. I'm looking for suggestions for names of family groups.

 

for example: bears: brown, black, polar; monkeys: apes, baboon, spider

 

I need Dragons: (at least five)

How traditional do you want to be? The usual is to go either with colours, or fire/ice, etc.

 

Another suggestion would be to go with metal/gems:

 

Golden, Silver, Copper, Lead, Iron, Platinum, Bronze, ....

 

Sapphire, Topaz, Quartz, Crystal, Obsidian, Onyx, Ruby, Jet, ....

It all depends on perspective: are the names what the dragons call themselves or what people call them?

 

If it is what the dragons call themselves, this is a derivative of their language or the basic language family. eg. like Latin ==> English, Spainish, etc. One trick that you might look at is using Latin or Greek root-words for their names.
