Gotta have a hunky shirtless guy in a story! It's just essential! I hope you keep enjoying it, more to come next week!!

Efiction, in fact all stories on GA are now in GA Stories on-site. I would say almost all stories in e-fiction were moved by staff and volunteers if the authors did not do it themselves but I can't guarantee the one you are looking for is in there. If you recall the author name or the story title then simply click on the GA Stories tab and the browse options are along the left hand side of the screen. If you do not recall those details you can try by using categories, genres, tags...

Rabbie woke feeling rested an hour later. His hand slowly slid down to rest on his dirk as he looked around; he could feel eyes on him but couldn’t see any living thing other than Duible standing quietly in the shade under a nearby tree. He rose gracefully to his feet, still watchful as he gathered up his fish. Placing them in a sack he kept tucked into the saddlebags, he grabbed one last drink from the clear cool water of the tarn before mounting up and riding for home. Wee Fearghus was

Welcome Docile! Very nice pics, so very serious looking. What is with the Canadians who refuse to crack a smile around here? Oh wait, that was just Jack and he's a fakie fake Canadian anyway. What was my point again? Oh yeah! Welcome!!

Hmmm... I've a girl and a boy. Barring small potty training differences I can say both of mine are pretty equal so far. I'm reserving judgement til teen years. A kid is a kid is a kid. They're all by turns sweet and annoying. They seem to know just when to pull out the big eye and awwww, aren't I adorable routine to keep you from smothering them. Evil little geniuses, I swear!

I like the story and your characters. The interactions, the inevitable conclusion, the scenery you bring to life are all great. Once again we have water and cameras, 2 of my fav things! My only quibble is your flow based on formatting such as paragraph structure seemed off as I read it, especially around the photography scene after snorkeling. This story could benefit from some restructuring but plot wise it's great as it is!

I'm very glad that you have a healthy, strong heartbeating, baby on board. That's great! And as I shudder at the thought of having twins, for your sake, I'm also glad you get a singlet. No matter what, Congrats Daddy Andy!! Can't wait for the gender update.

Bob's suggestion has vast merit, and I daresay he's probably been there before. That being said, all I can give you is hugs. You have been given plenty of advice so I shall simply say I am sorry you are having to deal with such stresses in your life. Oh, and talk this out with Papaya too, I'm sure you have but I've found that sounding board who only has your best interests at heart is often the best one to share with.

I'm glad you like it. I think I might go back into this one and revise it in the coming months. I hate it when I'm reading a fantasy story I don't understand and I re-read after I finish and go, wow, it would have been so much better the first time if I had been told it that way to start off with. So I do understand. Plus this one is short enough that re-writing wouldn't be too much work. Thanks so much for the great review, I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Cia

Oh ughs! The zombies. All I can say is well done. They invoke the same horror the Reavers from Firefly brought out in me. So very nasty and gruesome and yet it's so beyond their control it brings out pity for them too. Of course if Mordred isn't careful he's going to get hurt from not being wary enough. I think in some ways being in Whispering Cliffs was good for him, obviously, but considering his helpless and pointless attempts to invoke divine help by saying, "Gods Mercy" and not striking on his own with his sword hampered him. Hopefully that will teach him a lesson. Expect no help from on high, live and survive based on your own merits! (or hanging on by the skin of your teeth in zombie situations)

The idea of the plague returning was enough to freak me out. I'm a germaphobe of the highest order at times I like the interplay between Mordred and Dmitri in the early part of the chapter. The sense of discomfort Mordred has with his own changing nature is fascinating, btw. How someone could know themselves so little is always an interesting dynamic.

If the length is limited Bob, it's not anywhere near 600 words. I just checked the sneak peeks area as it has some of the longest posts I've seen and one of the more current ones is around 2200 words in a single post. Without knowing where you tried to post and what specificially, as well as the exact error message you received I'm not sure what's happening to you. I'm sure it's frustrating though, I'm sorry I can not help more.

I myself am a speed reader and while I often have to 'refresh' my memory with a story if it doesn't post that often so I will sometimes read the last chapter or two I already read. When I read chapters/stories or books though, even with the hundreds I average each month, my memory is good enough to keep track. Perhaps that isn't the case for you. On the other hand, here at GA I have the option to favorite my stories and set it for notifications from this site which means, if I can't get to reading right away what comes AFTER the last chapter available that I read, I leave it in my inbox so I know where to start. Yeah, that means at times I have a lot of stories favorited but you can do it anonymously and remove it after 1) you are done reading for whatever reason, or 2) the author completes the story. A lot of other sites don't send you a message when a story is updated, so I personally think from a speed reader standpoint that is perfect! This way I don't have to go searching for what stories were updated, they come to me. I set my notifications to pm and my pm's to send me an email. Voila... instantly in the know. Now I have 2 places/messages to track where I should be in reading a story.

Wow! That's quite the review! Thank you sooo much! I do plan to continue with these guys in the future, not too far off I hope. I do realize I need a bit more work with my writing in fully exploring all parts of the plot and the characterizations but it's always good to have specific spots I could check to make more 'realistic'. I'm really glad you enjoyed the story and you're the first to really point out that Dane's grandmother is still there. What kind of shenanigans she can get into will definitely be percolating in my brain! Thanks again for the lovely review dear!!

LOL, and part of that, a big part, is how much of a great job you do when you beta for me. Thanks! for taking the time to leave me a review on top of that. I've always wondered about the validity of patriarchal societies and how illogical that is but I think in many ways that is because we are Americans and view that people should be judged on merit in most part, not on who they were born to. Crazy, right?

I was trying some different writing techniques and this was part of my exploration. The inspiration came for the story when I was angry so the emotions were easy to write about, though I wasn't being cheated on thankfully. Sometimes it's hard to decide though, emotions are always mucking up what we know is the smart choice in life but where would we be if we never followed our hearts? When and how do we decide which is more important? I'm glad I made you think because honestly, I don't know either but it's always interesting to challenge new ideas. Thanks so much for leaving a review!!

You know I NEVER take unpacked samples from stores. It's hard on the kids but I'm always talking about germs and such so for the most part they understand. If I do allow the kids to have one it's only because I've stood there and watched the demonstrator take it from a sealed package and put it out. Even then I want them to have gloves on. I'm a germaphobe, I'll admit it but at least I'll never get some random guys emissions in my mouth because of it. Nasty!! He should have the book thrown at him!

A few things. The massive influx from the other story areas of the site is almost complete which means the story updates are actually working quite well now. That being said, you are able to 'like' an author story anonymously. Then if you read on and decide to unlike their stories that is all they will see. It leaves a degree of flexibility for you without an author knowing it was you specificially. Someone liking or unliking a story is just part of the feedback a writer should be able to handle if they post. The same for the star rating and rep points. Reputation is a hot button subject for some on site. Currently we use it to help determine the mod and peer review queues. If you are looking at those numbers to judge an authors writing solely by that it is not very accurate. It is for much more than that, forum use, writing... so yes, some authors of similiar quality might have wildly varying rep levels. If you are really wanting to find stories based on what members think try browsing under 'Most favorited, Most reviewed, Most read' in GA Stories. That will give you a much more accurate view on what is really being read and liked on site. I don't think I would ever neg rep an author based on their story content or writing ability though if they reacted badly to criticism in their forum or topic for their story I might be persuaded to do it there. As authors yes, it sometimes hurts when we hear bad things but that's the risk we take. And it's one of the best ways to learn, as long as the person leaving the criticism isn't flaming the author, that is. And Marzipan is right, users have the right to go to the moderators or admin if they feel content is out of bounds or a person is out of bounds in their criticism, such as if they left a personal attack. We won't always step in or agree but we are here if people feel something out of line is happening on site. With the switchover yes, a lot of 'In Progress' stories were moved. I personally put any story that hadn't been updated in more than a year with an 'On hold' status. But with staff and volunteers moving well over a thousand stories from the anthologies, archive, and efiction taking the time to add in the last day a story was updated would have just been a bigger pain than I wanted to deal with. It already took months to move all of those stories and every detail we had to add made it take longer. Now, a way that might help determine that would be to check and see when the author last logged into GA on their profile. It's not always going to help but it might. That or if you choose to read In Progress stories only read those that have been updated since the day they were uploaded. Then you know the author is active on-site and not as likely to have an abandoned story.

The doe was frozen, her wide ears swiveled forward and her black eyes were focused on Naill as he crept closer to her. Off to one side, hidden in the shadow of a rowan tree Rabbie stood steadying his arm he pulled the string back on his bow and released. His arrow, a long powerful shaft tipped with a steel point, sliced through the air and struck the slender animal. It slipped between two ribs as if it was being guided and found the madly beating heart with lethal force. Naill whooped as she

Rabbie doesn't believe in the gods and he resents his future as laird. His father is pushing him to get married and all he wants is to be alone and free to roam the land in all it's beauty. Taking his responsibilities too lightly causes more damage than he could have ever forseen. Somhlth is intrigued by him and the aura that surrounds him. A vision demands he help Rabbie but he finds himself wanting so much more.

Unfortunately the full list isn't even complete as it appears he was posting these stories in multiple places on the web. I know that some of the authors have chosen to have the stories re-titled to their original work title and placed under their name and some are opting to have their stories deleted. I will put a request in that we ask if the authors who have identified their stories would allow us to post where they might be found for readers if they opt not to have them posted here at GA.

I want one! No seiously, I devour books so quickly and my bookshelf has 4 stacks of books for each shelf for 4 rows. I don't have room for another shelf and the top one is bordering on 5 1/2 rows I'm running out of room for new books and I'm not getting rid of the ones I have. I love my local used bookstore but my house is too small for my love. That being said I will most likely get a nook, though I haven't really looked too into it. It's torture to crave what I can't have.

The Recent Reviews On GA Stories...
Cia replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
You are one of the authors that have what I term, 'rabid fans'. They love your writing with a passion and seem to revere you. Don't let that go to your head though, that just might mean they'll burn you in effigy if you ever fail to entertain. Good thing that won't happen right? Nah, didn't think so! -
More lurkers coming out of the woodwork and saying hi! Yay!! Welcome, la Chevalier Noir, tricky 71. I hope you enjoy the site as members much more than you did as lurkers!

Good insight Bob!! I have only been participating for the last year but I moved the anthologies from from 2006 and 2008-2010. I couldn't help but get sucked into to reading some of them and I have to agree, the quality of the stories, especially as seen from writers who have participated over the years, has only gotten better. The anthologies are a great way to get a taste of what a writer can do. I often see if a writer has an anthology story before I check out their longer ones. It gives me an idea of their style, story structure, and a little bit of the content they might write. I often suggest that members check out the anthologies if they are looking for a new author to read, it's a great way to find what people have to offer.
