  6. Siyabonga Tata Madiba. Lala ngoxolo.Sizohlala sekukhumbola.Thank you grandfather (Mandela). Rest in peace. You will always b remembered. Siyabonga. Thank you. Its a very emotional day here for all of us. Radio stations are playing Imagine by John Lennon one after the other. This song portrays the ideals that Madiba held high, so much so that we incarcerated him for 27 years. I say Hamba kahle Tata. Journey well, father. He earned the respect of the world by not losing hope. Like Jesus, in dying he restored our faith. Madiba has restored humanity in South Africa. He was so right when he said it is futile to think about what happened in the past. Never never and never again will this beautiful land suffer the oppression of its people. He lived for this ideal. He succeeded. One man made a difference. One man. To me, that is fantastic. In South Africa, Madiba is a statue, an icon, a road, a building, a park, he is in every one of our children, he is a hospital, a military base, a bench in a park, a bay, a city, a town, a country, but most of all, we are fortunate to have had him as one of our sons. I am blown away that the USA will be flying their flag at half staff. Just blown away.

    First Snow

There is a melancholy voice to this piece and heartbreak. I particularly found that appealing because you don't mention tbe word heartbreak at all, instead, you describe it and therefore plunge the reader into the short journey. I felt the heartbreak. The snow crack. I also found joy. His happiness in finding someone to love, the angst of coming out to his best friend. I found the deepening in this piece quite hypnotic. Great piece.
  17. Happy birthday Mike. May you be blessed throughout your life. Hugs
  18. Thank you so much guys. Your greetings are like candles lighting up my life. I would not change that for the world. Hugs all.
  19. Dreams are good friends Mark. They reveal only what is necessary and even nightmates are revealing, telling us things that we need to hear. Showing us things we need to see. Dreams are our own virtual play-ground where we can do things we cannot do in real time. I think this dream released some pent up emotion in you. This dream has given you the ability to be free to explore and has released the child in you. At last. Dreams are truly amazing. Hugs
  20. Rest In Peace Ms Lessing.

    Calvin Wilson

Enjoyed. Read twice. Enjoyed again. A surprising end always makes it worth reading. More please.
  22. Well, I really don't know if we will ever find out. Mr Wolf has either abandoned us, or the story, one of the two. I fear I am going to have to find myself a new favourite writer.
  23. I am a Booksie author, tbey hold competitions but you have to pay to enter these comps. Very quickly you will garner followers. Edit Red was a brilliant site, unfortunately it shut down. Met a lot of friends there. When it closed I found Gay Authors and glad I did. GA has fabulous members. Zoetrope is another fabulous site. Owned by Francis Ford Cappola, if you are lucky enough your story could be chosen to appear in their magazine or even watch as they develope your script into a movie. Here, you get your own virtual office too.At Zoetrope I have a gay office. Pop in for some virtual coffee won't you. http://www.zoetrope.com Authonomy is also a fab site. Here they work in tandem with a mainstream publishing house. Authonomy is a website owned and operated by HarperCollins, designed with a commercial aim: to unearth new talent. http://authonomy.com

    Chapter 1

Hmmm, as seen through the eyes of a straight guy. Different. As in all stories, something must change. Can't wait to find out what that change will be.
  25. I really feel for you in this situation. But it's time for you to move on. You're still young and you can do it. (Well, 47 in my book is young). There is really no way to know exactly what your friend is thinking. `he might be trying to process his own feelings. Stop obsessing over him and stay busy, hang out with other friends. At the moment it might be a little hard but taking a little time out and space could be good for you. This could even lead you guys back to a friendship later. A one sided love affair is not the same as being in love and your love for him is not gonna change his sexual orientation. I suggest you connect with people who give you mental stability. Another way to get over him is to find his faults. In your post there are quite a few already, I mean, no one is perfect and let's be honest, this isn't the movies, it's real life. It may take some time, but in the long run, moving on will serve you well. Hope you find this helpful. Hugs
