It's appalling that in this day and age there's still racism. Don't people ever learn? It seems like Sam will be all right, which is great. I just hope nothing happens to Casey and Jim.

    Eyes

Totally agree with Parker. I was imagining the open eyes seeing love flow through them in the first stanza, but when I read the third stanza I felt sad. I took this stanza to mean that the narrator was crying because his fears of losing his love were coming true. It was very final, like death - the 'He' closed his eyes for the last time. Or, it could just mean that 'He' closed his eyes as a sort of rejection of the narrator, and that's why the narrator was crying, thinking his fears about losing 'He' came true. Either way, the third stanza was very sad for me.
  3. Love that song!
  4. Yes he is! I was very impressed with him. He didn't sound like your typical, cocky, "I have a great CD out, and I'm the best musician..." blah, blah, blah. lol It was a really good interview. Plus I LOVE Elvis!
  5. Ok, so I'm a little late with watching this. Yes, Drew, it was very sad. On a happier note though, I heard Troye interviewed on the radio this morning! I didn't catch it from the beginning, so I didn't know who the DJ was talking to until he mentioned his name and how to spell it. Then I remembered I'd heard of him from you! You can catch the interview again on iHeartRadio. It was on Elvis Duran's morning show on Z100 - a NY station. Elvis is the BEST! Z100 happens to be on Sirius XM also, but I doubt they'll repeat it there. From where I caught it, it was a really good interview. They talked about coming out (both Elvis and Troye), being able to sing songs about boys and not girls, and of course his new CD. Of course as soon as I heard Troye Sivan, I thought of you, Drew!

    Chapter 5

Another awesome chapter, Mitch! So, by 'conventional' family, what was Viktor's relationship with Shane and Nikolai? (did I spell that right? lol) From the way I read it, it sounded like the three of them were in a three-way relationship. Is that what he meant? And what happened to Nikolai? Is he really sick? I totally agree with Spikey about Jason's relationships. His fiance seems just as overbearing, as his mother, if not more. That's not surprising though -- him picking someone just like dear old mom. He's pussy-whipped. Seriously though, he needs to break it off with Denise if he truly is not in love with her.
  7. Yay! I'm so excited! I got HB wishes from Mom and Daddy! A huge to everyone here who made my birthday so extra special! GA is such a wonderful site, and I am honored to have so many hella awesome people I hope I can call my friends. You guys rock!

  13. Oh my! Thank you sooooooo much for the wonderful thread, Sacred! Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful b-day wishes! Not much fun today - it's cold and rainy and I have to work! But...my youngest is making PANCAKES FROM SCRATCH FOR DINNER!!! Ya can't beat that! lol No cooking for me! hehe Of course I'm thanking EVERYONE on here, but I want to especially thank Addy, Sacred, Val, AC, Cole, Sui, and Gary for writing such beautiful things in their posts. It has been a wonderful pleasure working with all of you (well, haven't worked with Gary! lol), and I hope I can continue working with you in the future. , , and to everyone! Thank you!! Now I must formally wish Gary a very Happy Birthday and Andy78, because it's his b-day too! Oh yeah, and Britney Spears! Can't forget her!
  14. What a chapter, Skinny! This was such a sweet and beautiful chapter. Again, David's insight into his feelings, being able to separate his heart from his mind, impresses me. He's showing a maturity beyond his fifteen years. His conversation with Ginny was so honest, truthful...I'm glad he can confide in her and tell her what's really going on in his mind. And in his heart! The scene right before David leaves Twoey for the night was so sweet! You can tell in Twoey's pov that he's more in love with David than he was before (if that's even possible)!

    More Obfuscation

Beautiful, Doc! Words can never do justice to what showing can do. Does that make sense? lol My brain's fried, but I hope you know what I'm trying to say. Great poem, Doc!

    True Colors

I'm confused. lol Not a hard thing for me to be. Ok, I got that Sara was talking to Chris about Sam. Chris and Craig got together and were they the ones who attacked Sam and rattled Sam and his dad's livestock? Why would they do that? Sara said nice things about him, but even it she didn't, why would they attack him? They need James and his bow and arrows to get them! I hope Sam's gonna be ok.

    Celebration

Great story, Skinny! I'm sad it's over though. I loved reading about Ian's emotional progression and Miles' outstanding patience with him!
  18. CONGRATS, SUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see, count how may there are now! lol) I'm so excited to see one of my favorite stories by one of my favorite authors featured here! I loved A Rescued Life just as much as I loved all of Sui's stories I've read so far. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to A Healing Heart or A Haunted Love yet; they are on my reading list, and I look forward to reading them. Sui is so good at bringing her characters to life, and she writes in such a way that you feel you're right there with her characters, experiencing the same things they are. Congrats again, Sui!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT!!!!! I hope you're having a great day!
  20. Oh no, the shit's gonna hit the fan now that Twoey has access to a TV. Unless he's been in there for so long that what happened isn't news anymore. He's going to find out in the worst way possible. I bet he finds out before David gets there, and he'll 'demand' (well, in writing!) that David tell him the truth. That's not gonna go well at all. I was very impressed with Defiance's review. I hadn't really thought of David having OCD, but now that I think about it, it would make perfect sense. He needs order and control in his life, and he has to be totally in control at all times. Another excellent chapter, Skinny!

    Laid Bare

I know I keep saying this, but Jim and Carol are the absolute best!!!! I have a feeling Jim may already know how James feels about Casey just from his persuasiveness trying to get Jim and Carol to take Casey in. Another excellent chapter, Rusty!

    Wanted

Hmm, I wonder why Casey lied to Karen about being tied up for a few days. Unless he plans on breaking up with Sara first, and then start seeing Karen. But then where does that leave James? Unless he blew Karen off b/c he wants to spend time with James. I think Carol and Jim are absolutely FANTASTIC parents! They are so warm, generous, and loving. Casey owes a lot to James for getting him in there! lol

    Chapter 6

I agree with Tim; it's a very effective poem, and honestly, I think it can stand alone, just like that. I don't think you need to finish it. I last word in caps, 'MYSELF', says it all, and is the perfect way to end the poem.

    The Wailing

Another thought-provoking poem, Angel. The poor narrator who can't get rid of all those voices in his/her head, just wishing for peace, if only for a moment. So, so sad.

    Foresaken

Wow. What an amazing poem, Angel. I read it quite a few times. It's very sad, very sorrowful and very chilling. It's an extremely chilling poem. I got the feeling those lost souls were in hell, but of course, I don't really know for sure. It just seemed from the words you used, they were in hell, and would never 'see the light of day again'. Ok, I paraphrased the last part! lol Excellent poem, Angel.
