While I am hopeful that Jem-Lad will be fine, I remind worried about the explosive sounds Jem-Lad heard as he was making the decision to protect Bzup....Was/is anyone hit or injured??? I'm leaning towards this being a test and one passed successfully.... Then there is this quote to ponder from our illustrious author.... If we ever did have a first contact situation with aa alien race, one has to wonder how they would view us....

I can't see Diego and family losing this case, not with Billy behind the wheel...we may go off the pavement a bit but that's ok... Judge Crustypants has much to answer for throughout this trial, quite frankly he is guilty of judicial misconduct for starters, as noted above, the only way the asswaffle and the tailpipe win is if Judge Crustypants was bought off. I would hazzard a guess if that were the case, Billy would come to the bottom of it... There's an old saying, 'Give a man enough rope and he will hang himself"....The asswaffle has self-immolated too many times to count throughout the trial to even have a scintilla of a chance of winning...but then again...this is John Henry's world... Anyone want to lay odds on the asswaffle and the tailpipe sleeping in the same bed right now...room...house...town...county...state?? Any takers??? As to financial matters, there still is the matter of putting the screws to the school district and I am sooo looking forward to that!!!

I found Doreen's insight regarding Matt's mother and what she must be feeling and living with the grief that most likely she will never see her son again...when you think about it, Andy has the same empathy as we see as he struggles with the decision whether or not to 'buy' Matt...Doreen, looking at Andy's decision as a mother couldn't come to any other conclusion. As for breaking the law, could not buying Matt be considered ransom??? One other thought...could/would it be possible that in all of the quiet times Matt spent with Ahmet that each might know a bit more about each other, for instance, where Ahmet comes from/family??? Kanaan just may have left a loose end out there, especially if Matt has a general idea as to where Ahmat's family lives/occupation....

Another thought or reflection is the dichotomy between Bzup-kind and Jem-kind...Somehow Bzup-kind has evolved to a point where they can't/won't kill. Much like humans used cows for milk, orx are being used to supply the necessary/needed ingredients for processing into food, contrasting where orx are hunted for food... Then there's the lengths gone to, to see the injured crewmember was saved. That is/was some impressive medical tech... Is it any wonder why Azim feels the need to leave, one hopes that at some point Jem and Bzup meet again... "No," Bzup said then. His voice sounded amplified now, more commanding, more insistent. All eyes turned to him. "Azim protect Bzup," the alien said. "Gather raw food, fazt. One-zhip leave Benteen. Need much food to go." In the 300-some-odd years that contact was lost with the home world, what changes do Jem and his fellow colonists face???

Loved the pace of this chapter and continuously remain amazed at the nature of dogs and other pets to pick up on human needs and emotions, the scene where Arya was just do darned wonderful!!!

Wow...simply wow...tell me this chapter wasn't pregnant will all sorts of possibilities and curiously perplexing scenarios...using my perfidious, powers of psychotic psychic prognostication, there's possibly and potentially a few more tales left to explore in this world... More importantly now that the rigatoni lines have reformed, what could possibly happen next???

A group was identified as the ones to put the bombs in place, all the other powers alive on Earth were hunting them down. After a hundred years you were hunting grandsons and granddaughters! Great grandchildren! Really, you hunted the ideas.

When you come to think of it, Dan, Vaughn, and everyone else are already deep into playing Francis Heyward's game of human chess... Financial shenanigans aside, and I have to believe like others, where there's smoke, there is fire...The 64-thousand-dollar question is, how deep is dear Francis overextended???? Or could this simply be a ploy by his competition, to spread rumors such as these and to have lenders who are already on the margin, nervous and calling the money cows home before the financial chickens come home to roost... There is a simple solution to the predicament that is Francis Heyward, neither Dan nor Vaughn for that matter, are in so deep that they simply give reasonable notice and resign as different/brighter prospects await...

This critical to understanding the current state of both of Jem and his companions as well as Bzup and his... What we know, considering the above is that the rigatoni lines, allowing travel between distant places, have been broken and dusted with a cheese-like substance, the opposite of dark matter??? It is easy to see the horrifying effects, could the disaster have been caused by the weird alien shaped object to the right of the broken rigatoni lines...

I am surprised that Roger did not take what he considered 'dirty money' and find a way to use it for organizations that were anti-gay and all the other associated flavors of our tribes... Much to happen in the next few chapters!!

Well, parts of this mystery are beginning to unfold, yet leaving so many unanswered questions...what about the strange behavior Jem and his father noticed with the animals they hunt, what about the undiscovered country, did Bzup and his fellow travelers only come in one ship...are there more, could some of this alien tech be helpful in restoring the decaying/debilitated tech of the settlers, how long have Bzup and his companions been stuck on the planet, and most importantly...how much room is there in @weinerdog's doghouse???? Sorry, not sorry for the following...it just kept popping into my head...

Back in the day, just after we beat up the troglodytes for their guitars, amps, drum sets, and dang it Kenny G...their saxophones, I got to see The Who in Boston Garden. Sad part was Keith Moon was so hammered he fell out of the drum set twice in the first 20 minutes...while they were trying to sober him up someone's cigarette (Shhh-joint?) fell in to the garbage that had collected during the previous shows... The announcement was made that the show was over and to save your ticket stub for when the show was rescheduled...Turns out they played the make-up show as their last night of their swing thru the states...the sad part was shortly after that show, Keith Moon was no longer... But, as I am known to digress, loved this chapter and some concert memories it brought back @weinerdog!!! And remember boys and wanna bee's, being older than dirt is ok so long as you reside above the dirt!!!

If I had to encapsulate the following thought it may come out like... We're all a bunch of bamboozling drinkers thinking of the cocktails thoughts others are drinking thinking....set up a nother round boys??? Love the pace of the chapter and just so well descripted!!!

While phone calls can be easy to mask point of origin, one has to wonder if in this case, it may be found/located??? The bigger, obvious chance they may have to bring this part of the seamy business down is...Matt, would he know enough, remember enough to warrant an investigation? While it may not be part of plan to do so in this story, I for one, would live to see the whole sordid business brought down...

I had to go with wow….as they say the plot thickens and looks like Matt will be crossing storm crossed seas, hopefully to find safe harbor and shelter, here’s hoping Maeve works her magic with Matt!!
