So glad to see the boys are finally adopted...I have to say it was a bit concerning that it took a bit longer with Pierre, and that Pat is truly feeling comfortable!!

Can't add much to the comments above, I have to wonder if the turn around in the Duke's outlook and rapprochement towards Lord Brentwood, was because of the growing closeness with King George. Caroline is acting irrationally which leads me to conjecture/speculate may not be in the full control of her faculties... We know that Winston Churchill's father contracted syphilis from dalliances' he should have best avoided. Rendering him insane for the last part of his life. Some speculate that the assignation with the 'fallen' woman was actually a set up by his political opponents/enemies...But I digress...is it possible she inserted a dirty tool in seeking and using a carnal assignation??? How soon before she shows up to create and raise a stink/scene??? Gatling, not one of my favorite people unless he's a favorite to despise. Calvert should have known better, yet we weren't in his shoes either...all the more reason to dislike Gatling... I can't help feel that there was more to St Vincent's visit. I'm very glad the enmity between the two warriors is settled... And what can be said about Winkler, without him George's world be in trouble. He is the most indispensable character in this story... So Lord Arbor, you've left us a wait and see hanger on many, multiple fronts!!!

A rose by any other name...this certainly explains who is running Congress.... “The complex rules governing demonic etiquette and warfare. You see, demons live for tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of years. And in that time, they grow bored. So they throw lavish parties, build grand castles, and war with each other to pass the time. Being demons, they delight in mayhem and carnage. The Game of Souls was created to maintain order and stability. But, as with everything, loopholes to these rules were found and exploited, leading to backstabbing, wars by proxy, and so much politicking.”

Loved this chapter and I personally know so many of these self-deluded bigots...they tend to avoid me now as I point out of one's voice volume does not equate to a superior intellect... when I calmly refute their opinions they believe are factual, you can see the steam coming from their ears...One of my best friends, and I love him despite his inability to think critically, thought he could toss verses from the bible to me when I asked him if he was familiar with the parable where Jesus met the woman at the well, he didn't and truly got upset with me when I explained that Jesus originated 'woke'...

All right all you haters and one scruffy little @weinerdog...here goes... The best part of this chapter...is not getting the coconut shrimp... I like just about everything on their menu except the coconut shrimp. Get a variety if you want. Leftovers are always good.” Ya think???? Pups and others did die...remember the mineshaft they couldn't get down to determine how many bodies were down there??? Caleb stared at the floor for a moment before speaking. “I betrayed my pack. I chose to betray them deliberately, and in the process, I nearly got a lot of people, including kids, killed.” My heart aches for what they did to Vann but what is said about pride going before the fall, as an Alpha he could have struck back from the inside knowing who the key players were/are, the pack would have followed him thru the gates of hell.... “After they kidnapped Vann, they waited several weeks before contacting me. They knew I'd be desperate by the time they reached out and would do anything to ensure Vann’s safety. They hit where they knew it would hurt the most. They made me listen to them torturing my son. For as long as I live, I will never be able to get the sound of his screams out of my head. It nearly killed me.” The anguish that rolled off Caleb was nearly palpable, and Asa wanted to comfort him but knew he would be rebuffed. It took a minute before Caleb could compose himself enough to continue. “They coerced me further and convinced me it was in Vann’s best interest to cooperate. To drive the point home, they sent a hunter into my territory as a message. Alberts knew he had me—hook, line, and sinker “I don’t deserve anyone’s forgiveness. I selfishly chose not to tell my Beta what was going on. I thought I could handle it on my own. This is a tough one to swallow and simply reinforces my dislike of Caleb, ain't nuthin sweet bout coconuts....UGGG!!! Just when there was a distinct, however small, miniscule, remote, not a frigging chance in the hells of Dante Inferno, I may have been warming towards Caleb, but to smell so gawd awful.... They were instantly shrouded in bright light. New leather and sweet coconut—his brain finally placed the scent that eluded him earlier. That’s what Caleb smelled like.

Let's not forget we have a ripper of a storm/hurricane coming, the change in barometric pressure alone is enough to bring the crazies out... Reminiscent of one of the greatest black and white movies of all time with the way the tension builds slowly

Sex Southern Style and A New Dad?
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Sex Southern Style and A New Dad?
Have to agree with the TGIF restaurant comments, went to a local Olive Garden and was hugely disappointed... Hey,,,it could be a happy ending for everyone if Marty finds a prison boyfriend... -

Next time I move my ashes will be scattered to the F'ing winds.... Loved this chapter it was priceless and having said it so many times, a master class in plot development and wordsmithing... Now...you got me hook, line, and sinker with the following...I'd melt so fast I'd agree to: Do the dishes, the laundry, take out the garbage, turn on your e-reader to the morning newspaper while placing the coffee cup on the table, wash the windows, dust bunny patrol, put up and take down the Xmas lights, and hand over the checkbook...errr...perhaps not... “So, yes, I love you. I’m in love with you. It seems so obvious to me it’s laughable you could miss it, but I understand why. No one ever showed you they loved you. Well, guess what? If I have my way, I’ll never have to say it because I’ll show you every day until forever. Because to me, that’s how long I want to be with you. This isn’t dating. You’re the real deal. We’re the real deal.”

I can remember once yelling at my mother that I had no clean clothes that morning, it was then she took me to meet MR and Mrs Washing Machine and Dryer...Point being is that boys are very capable to look after themselves and are better off knowing how to do so...the following lines indicate so...learning to cook isn't just for girls.... “What did Angela say?” “She said she was glad they arrested Ann. She was always saying the kids didn’t need all of this fancy food.” “So we are now one cook short.” “Mary and Clara said they would over look and teach the girls.” It is past time to teach the boys as well...after that episode with my mother, I also learned how to cook and became very good at it. I'm very upset that it would seem that Christian is not the son his father raised, or so it seems. Time to call in the auditors!!!

Including @drpaladin, Not very likely at all, moved back to farm country and happened on a hike to pass a steaming manure pit nearby. Thought of Caleb and what they both had in common. Relief flooded through Caleb. The horse and donkey were the only living things he cared about. He hated to think about the beautiful Palomino getting hurt because of his stupidity. He already had enough of that in his life. That's what we are blaming this whole mess on, stupidity...sorry but that excuse just does not cut it. Caleb made the decision to turn traitor, leading to the mutilation, death, and science experiments gone bad on young pups. As I see it, there ain't no coming back from that... One has to wonder what fortuitous sequence of events can wash the stain of his actions away.... Luke asked for the truth, but Caleb knew he wasn’t ready to hear it. His friend still remembered the old Caleb, who was trustworthy and honest. That man ceased to exist the day he decided to betray his pack. So he veiled the lie behind the truth. Ain't that the truth... Ok, haters...I've stocked the fridge and I can withstand the siege..., nearly finished the move and have unpacked several boxes. Got 11 miles on the rail trail this morning, feeling somewhat less grumpy. Only one or two trips back and forth left. On a positive note, my attorney just handed my cousins attorney invoices and copies of canceled checks, I've got 'em by the short hairs, with interest due...There just may be light at the end of the tunnel for you know who.....

I agree with this comment wholeheartedly, Seth's mother given a choice as to how her new born daughter should be cared for, raised to be able to eventually mainstream, has all the hallmarks of abuse...while I can sympathize with the tragedy Stacey's birth was, there is no excuse for taking every possible step to get her the care and rehabilitation she needed, then to top off the treatment of Seth endured over the years, without explanation is unforgiveable... Lastly, where is the father???? He did himself little favor for disappearing. Quite frankly legal advice, proper care and counseling should have been legally mandated...
