    Chapter 5

As with many readers/commentators, I was harsh and unforgiving when it came to Marco, and while it beggars my conscience, I've come to respect the mousy haired boy, he's grown by leaps and bounds as he is well on the path to discovering himself and finding that he's on the cusp of becoming a fine young man. I had been less harsh at the beginning with Giaco, I had fallen for his golden boy charms and natural, easy going insouciance. The differences between he and Marco could not be more striking, as Marco discovers more about the good inside him, we see Giaco a bit more clearly as the curtains are peeled back. He's becoming a bit more unsure of himself, finding growing up isn't easy or easy to cover the feelings radiating out of him. He's a bit less confident as Marco becomes so. I found the following to be a quite the tender and moving moment... Sitting before him, in a crisp cardboard box, was a basic but fully featured laptop computer. “I…” Marco said again. Suddenly, his eyes looked unusually bright, and he was blinking harder than normal, as if he was working hard to hold back tears. “It was sort of my idea,” Gianni said. “And it’s not just a toy. When Patrizia told me she’d bought one of these for Dani last year, it made me think… you’ll be off to high school in the autumn. Now there’ll be no excuse to be late with your homework.” Marco backed shakily away from the table and hurried round to the other side, where he pulled his two foster fathers into a hug, mumbling something indistinct into Gianni’s chest. Daniele laughed slightly, a little embarrassed to be intruding on the moment. Glaring at him with one watery eye, Marco beckoned for him to come over. “Really?” Daniele mouthed. Marco nodded determinedly. Uncertainly, Daniele walked around the table, and the smaller boy pulled him in until all four of them were wrapped up together. It is so striking as we watch 3 confused teeagers pine for must seem unattainable for each of them... ASSunta Neri, the fun we could have creating a moniker for her...Who is the sixteen year-old mystery boy...Enzo, WTF, tho we saw something was off coming up with him...as to what the young man is watching, I'd have to rule out drugs, sex slaves...I think too many people to keep hidden, I'd go with hardcore porn, so much easier to move and distribute... Fantastic chapter

    Chapter 1

I've met and lost many friendships with Calvin types, who were unable for selfish reasons, to sober up and take responsibility for themselves. What I can say is that Calvin is lucky that Diego put up with his crap. I can only hope the three of them are able to bond!! Looking forward to more...

    Chapter 4

I think Dani's parents have the gist of it...don't they.... “Well… you know where we are,” Patrizia said, “if there’s anything else you’d like to tell us.” Daniele nodded. “Yeah,” he replied quietly. “Thanks.” He finished his breakfast and headed back towards his bedroom. In the hallway, he paused, listening to his parents’ quiet voices as they discussed what they’d just seen. “There was always a risk of this, don’t you think?” Paolo murmured. “Friendship and unrequited love… it’s a tricky tightrope to walk.” “We don’t know it’s unrequited,” Patrizia replied quietly. “Who knows what’s really going on in their heads? They’re at such a funny age, not quite adults, but not quite children either. There must be so much passing between them every day that the adults in their lives don’t even see.” “But we’ve always suspected it, haven’t we?” Paolo said. Patrizia sighed. “Yes, I suppose we have. Poor Daniele…”

    Chapter 175

The following had me in stitches and smiling, I'm also glad to see that GG confirmed Armand's devotion to the home! Visualize this, I was leading boys, with new rods, down the dock to a waiting boat. The Italian boys started to sing in Italian. I asked one of the older boys why they were singing. “We want the mermaids to know we are coming.” I laughed and when I told the boys from the Home they laughed and wanted to learn the song. Now we had Italian lessons as the boys from the Home learned the song.
  8. Sumi and Harakin, and the others for that matter, have a lot of learning about each other and the world they occupy, it should be very interesting to say the least...

    Chapter 5

God dang...I don't miss my high school days with all the drama of others...I get the feeling things are going to go pear shaped very quickly... I was thinking Stacy had a stick up her backside but realize it's a 2X4...how does her mother not see this or her report cards... Craig, my best guess if he is lucky is he'll barely escape going to jail with his rep in tatters...if he's lucky...

    Chapter 3

Oh my...the following says just so much...Growing up is never easy...is it? Marco’s brow knotted anxiously; it was plain that he was trying hard to make sense of everything. “So… why say no? Don’t you trust him, or something?” Daniele spread his arms helplessly. “All the things we’ve done together,” he said desperately. “Like helping each other to climb mountains, or the way we looked out for each other during the business with Ettore last year… I trust Giaco with my life. Just not…” He tailed off miserably, drawing another ragged breath. “…with your heart?” Marco suggested quietly.

    Chapter 3

Don't I know it, if I had a crate of duct tape, a gross of zip ties and my trusty sawzall, I could rule the universe, well...at least my backyard... I love my sawzall, the swiss army knife of electrical tools!!!!
  13. It's an interesting dichotomy and an exercise juxtaposition, to contrast the differences between our protagonists and a collective of zombies, who it seems are somewhat remotely akin to the Borg from Star Trek. While they are wandering aimlessly, it would seem that there is a 'hive' mentality, who, what, or how are they being directed?? I dropped back behind the roof peak and scooted toward the ladder. "Guys, we've got company. A lot of it. We need to keep it down and stay out of sight." I descended the ladder, and we all gathered in front of the house. "How many?" Mark asked, instinctively gripping the hilt of his knife. "God, hard to say." I ran a hand through my sweaty hair. "Hundreds. Way more than we dealt with in town. Way more. It looks like a bunch of army guys and some of the sick folks they'd quarantined." When you have one or two wandering, it's harder to see any links between them, when you have groups the size going after Mr Buck or the ones that passed the farm, it gives one pause for thought, is it instinctual, as young chickens know that shadows flying over them mean danger, or are they somehow being conducted? What allows the zombies to act in a cohesive manner? As to wearing dead zombies shoes or other items of clothing, ya gonna need lots of bleach and some ultraviolet lighting... Then as the wise old know-it-all once said, good fences make the zombies pass by like ships in the night...
  14. How in the heck did I miss this??? I loved the Foxfire series and have all of them, truly wonderful, informative books, but then again somewhere in my vast collection I also have several books by Eric Sloane and his illustrations of early colonial life. Of course I had to go out when I was a much younger man, just after the civil war and bought the Anarchist Cookbook, full of a lot of things that could get you into trouble or...get you into trouble.... https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/250725.Eric_Sloane https://duckduckgo.com/?q=anarchist+cookbook&atb=v314-1&ia=web

    Chapter 3

Dear lord in heaven...I nearly didn't make is past this...not sure if it was will power or not...got to love a tool user!!! At that moment, Eric slipped out the rear door and jogged over to his jeep. Whistling, he pulled the passenger door open, flipped the seat down, and began to rummage in the back. He had to lean halfway over to do it, stretching the material of his shorts tight across his ass. Michael’s stomach flipped. Yep, an excuse would be crucial. He took a shaky breath, then another when the first didn’t help with his sudden dizziness. The view had his body reacting in a predictable manner...damn it. Eric shouted a satisfied “Aha!” and slithered out of the car, smiling triumphantly at the crowbar in his hand. Hair disheveled and falling in his face, smudge of dirt across one cheek, he was radiant.
  16. Anything that brings an end to the Messiah's is a bonus, but...it needs to be an organized resistance...
  17. Letting him live was a HUGE mistake.
  18. Tilby and Liovia seemed to have much in common, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I imagine our heroine who lost an arm may just have found, or will find, someone who can help her out...if we can't have a meteor, can we at least have a deadly viral infection for the gunge???

    Chapter 11

I think @drpaladin has the gist of it, the tail is either lost or misplaced...not in the hands of those who would do harm...yet! BTW, as mother used to say, you'll find what you are looking for, where you last left it...and as an aside...Parallax should truly think of a new occupation...is he related to the Secret Service agents that failed to protect the President's National Security Advisor, as we learned in the news this week??? Think of the simple answers/places...

    Chapter 2

Enzo and the old bitch, ooops, witch are up to no good, wonder how they will tie into the grand summer plans... Giaco is one confused boy, or is it one scared young man, insecure as to what he's learning about himself. There's a bit of Peter Pan in Giaco. Unlike Marco who knows and is growing in confidence... “You know what,” Daniele grumbled. “Don’t make me say it.” Giacomo nudged him playfully with his shoulder. “Never change, Dani.” “You like me checking you out?” Daniele asked incredulously. “It doesn’t suck,” Giacomo admitted. Daniele frowned as he reflected on the other boy’s words. But why, Giaco? What do you get out of it?
