So...the 64 thousand dollar question is...Does Calvin know Diego is/was answering his texts and will Diego fool Calvin into meeting him??? One thing that still bothers me, Calvin is a user of people for his own gain, why is he being so persistent in meeting with Bryan???

The die is cast, will Jamie and his fellow travelers go it alone or will Master Thorvil and the Council find a way to assist...did Seeri and Rier find the Council in time? A random thought here...would it be possible to stop the generating turbines, cutting off the electrums that power the machines/technology of the ancients? There has to be a master shut-off switch close by.... Not for nothing, once the final showdown is concluded, I hope that there is a chapter or two/three, setting the stage for the next adventure, a bit further down the road....leading to a doorway or two!!!!

As noted below, it is stories like this that make the premium subscription so worth while!!! The year, set off in the distant future gives us a glimpse of amazing technology that allows for time travel to the past...with certain caveats... Add all the ingredients for a star-crossed love story, murder and mayhem lurking in the shadows and you have the recipe for a thoroughly engrossing tale if intrigue, set against nearly impossible odds!!! It is stories such as this that makes Gay Authors one of the best story sites around!!!

As noted before in previous comments, how do any of our intrepid heros go back to their lives as they were? I suspect they may only be visitors to the quaint world they have left behind as they bring some sense of order to the world(s) of the ancients...that the dangers inherent it the ruins is rendered harmless... Then, what of the worlds beyond their planet???

After reading this chapter my Uncle Albert was quoted as saying..."Right On" or something like that before he disappeared in a puff of electrums smoke...just saying...

Don't know why but I was blubbering after this....and it just got so much better... This time, it was Perry who looked smug. “It’s a fancy word for making people feel bad about themselves.” Ava ran to the sofa and grabbed the big blanket, then went back to Perry and pulled him to the ground. She tried her hardest to wrap the blanket around her and her uncle. “Sad-i-piwer.” Perry’s brows pinched in confusion. “What?” Henry grinned and joined Ava. The twins worked together until they disappeared into the blanket cocoon with Perry. “Sad-a-pier-war,” Ava enunciated from under the blanket. “You can’t weave until yous happy.” “Until I’m happy?”

Like others I am glad to see the last of Urvan, what isn't surprising is the empathy Jamie has in taking Urvan to his final resting place., this is what separates this group from Lodda and Porvus. Will they have the time needed to fully understand the miracle of magick being born, conversely...magick in others being nullified?? One has to expect at this point that the battle now comes to them. I can't envision that Lodda will stay on the defensive... As noted in a previous chapter's comment, how do Jamie and his fellow travelers ever go back to the world they left? While it is a bit premature, I couldn't help myself...no munchkins were harmed in the creation of this comment...

I am reminded, given the circumstances of the quest Jamie and the gang find themselves on, of an old image that is somewhat apropo...

I'm of the opinion that Seeri is a force for the good, being the twice great granddaughter of Wanda Pigfoot. Jamie would have been able to sniff out any deception. Something that was overlooked in all of the commenting, I believe Seeri was in the red tower they are traveling to, and now...getting there has become so much easier. I don't think they will be going right away, they still need time to figure some things out, such as understanding the fundamental nature of magick, learning the ability to turn it off and on, like we would do with a lightswitch...or to remove the ability from those who are deserving of such a fate. Just as importantly, they need a blanket spell to counter the mind control pf Lodda, Porvus and Urvan, and free the mages affected... A trip to the nether is needed pronto!!!

It is sad and discouraging to see how we as a country have, and continue to treat Native Americans, and if some have their way, our educational system won't teach, or other parts of our history, it for the 'harm' little Johnny or Suzie may feel. https://www.npr.org/2023/07/11/1186771880/west-water-rights-tribes-climate-change-drought https://www.newyorker.com/news/letter-from-the-southwest/how-native-americans-will-shape-the-future-of-water-in-the-west

Let's hope they now have the time to refine the new ideas concerning electrums and magick...it would be wonderful, if a bit anticlimactic, to finally face off against Lodda, Porvus, and Urvan, and the three of them suddenly find themselves without any magickal abilities. Especially if all the underling mages were without their magick... This also has me pondering...friend or foe, I would chose, friend... In the distance were some of the towers, resembling the inn in structure, but many floors higher. Between the towers and their window was a wide, flat stretch of ground covered completely by the gray stone of the ancients. Directly across this span of stone, and slightly to their left, stood an odd-looking....something. Jamie had never seen its like before, and so had no name for it. It somewhat resembled a tree, but one grown by the most demented of gardeners. Its bole was blue, somewhat crooked as it climbed skyward, and looked metallic in nature. The crooked trunk spread at the top like many leafless branches, all of which were as equally crooked as the base that supported them. Such a thing could not be alive. But even as he watched it, it moved. One of the branches twitched, pointed in their direction, and a light briefly glowed at the end of it. Jamie felt a familiar tingle to his senses; but in the same instant, another of the amazing rounded things flashed past their window, heading in the opposite direction from the first one. So sudden was the movement that Jamie and Garvin both took instinctive steps backwards, Geert extending a hand to stay Garvin, while Jamie backed straight into Snave's unmovable form.

This can't be good... Perhaps I should see a therapist or something? Naw, I’m fine. Like they say, if you think you’re crazy, you’re not. He dried his hands and forgot all about Prometheus and Oblivion. Looking back, Travis marked this as the point at which a small part of him became seduced by Oblivion.
