Prompt #122 - Field Notes
drsawzall commented on Valkyrie's story chapter in Prompt #122 - Field Notes
Well done!! Enjoyed this very much!!! -
I am happy to see Tanner in a safe place beyond his miserable background, I would however see that the DA gets all of the evidence to put both of the A-holes away...once the check for the bills clears and Tanner's old house, I'm assuming it is owned by the witch, sold to pay for his care and future education... In no manner, way, shape, or form, do I let them continue selling the poison they've been pandering to school age children and others...quite frankly, two behind the ear would be too good for them...

I am simply loving this quick turnaround in chapters Lord Arbor...May there be many more, and just as quickly!! The die is cast, planning is taking shape for the upcoming separation of Grainger's affairs, political, financial, and personal with the children coming along as well. Caroline will most likely be enraged at first, and when she realizes she has boxed herself in to a very tight corner, I hope she may see the light of day. She may be adroit at managing the financial aspects, but truly lacks the commonsense to manage her 'affairs' discreetly. She's lost her 'political' cover as it were, and trying to combat Grainge can only send her to oblivion quicker... Ebenezer Scruggs has become a very intriguing wild card, I suspect his time with Grainger will lead, I hope, to further legal assistance, lord knows the upcoming tussle with caroline will require an astute legal mind, one that knows how to interpret the law and apply it! England is still embroiled in what is called the War of the Second Coalition, peace is elusive so it seems. How will the powers that be at the Admiralty see his usefulness, knowing the ill feelings that exist? Thanks again for the excellent chapter, We learn more about Lady Kendal's estate, but are short on the full measure of what his inheritance entails...more to the point, what trouble will arise from his immediate family? We still don't know what drives his father's interest/motivations...it has to be something significant to say the least!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Second_Coalition

I believe GG will be 'present' in order to smooth out the upcoming rough patch we are now expecting

It certainly took long enough for the boys to "come" to an understanding...sheesh!! Now for Mom M...I suspect the quote "Hell hath no fury" won't begin to cover the least of what she has planned...

Ok, now we have confirmation of the new will courtesy of Simone...who was the second witness, would Simone know???? All of the other comments were right on the mark, what a wonderful twist!!! Ice cold Ensure in a frosted glass, was there a 'shot' in there somewhere??? Thanks Rick for busting another cherished belief... “You're all approaching this from the wrong direction,” Rick said with a snort. “Marc‘s father is like Darth Vader. One evil dude. We‘re not going to get anywhere reasoning with him. We need another strategy.” Reba popped her gum. “If you say ‘use the Force’, I‘ll smack you.” “Listen, this isn‘t rocket science.” Rick slammed his fist on the table. Coffee sloshed everywhere. “Some law office, somewhere, knows something. We’ve got the Internet. It isn’t just for porn. Let‘s just get our asses online and on the phone and track this shit down.”

Well now, Dr Adam seems to be a bit overwhelmed, time for everyone to take a deep breath...Hope there isn't any trouble down under as well!

A very sweet story and what you'd do for not only for love, but for a worthy charity. How can you go wrong with a pet lizard named Snert and a couple gallons of liquid chocolate???

With a pet lizard named Snert, how could you go wrong?? Loved the charity aspect of this story and just had warm fuzzy feelings all around... Loved the description of the garage workshop and some of the wacky inventions, it had me remembering some of Rube Goldberg's drawings/cartoons... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rube_Goldberg_machine

Prompt 121 - At Any Price

I had to agree with @weinerdog on the emoticon...Does dear old dad know about the new will, and it is time for Mom to step out of the domineering shadow she's been forced to live under and assert herself even more...time for a fresh start??? If memory serves me correctly, here where I live a will needs two, independent witnessed signatures...time's wastin, I would sure ask the gentleman who found Aunt May laying in the driveway...they had a history of sorts... Is it possible dear dad asswipe is in some sort of financial difficulty, staying in the country for any length of time detrimental to his health...is someone looking to give him 2 in the hat sickness???

Prompt #121 - A Rare Find
drsawzall commented on Valkyrie's story chapter in Prompt #121 - A Rare Find
Years ago my father climbed to the top of a barn that was going to be demolished, to "rescue" an old weathervane. It always displayed in our house and as tatty as it was stained with pigeon poop, complete with a couple of bullet holes, its weathered copper finish spoke to better days. I've had it hanging in a hallway for some time now and was totally stunned when a friend saw it and spoke towards it true worth. Needless to say it now occupies a new spot in the house!!- 15 comments

Once again we are treated to an amazing work of fiction by one of the best authors to grace the pages of Gay Authors. I don't want to give away any details of this incredible story featuring Charlie Boone and the gang, but know this...this ranks among the best of them!!! Take a gander...you'll be delighted you did so!!!
-
I feel the following pretty sums up the story for me...That and my prognosticator simply needs a tune-up, oil change, tire rotation and balancing... "Everyone needs an idea to base their life upon," Kip agreed. "I found mine, when I met Charlie, because he has led me to all of this." "I do believe we have each contributed to where we are now," Charlie countered. He looked around at his friends. "All of us. By seeking things beyond what we know in an attempt to find our place in life, we found that seeking things beyond what we know is our place in life." I believe this is, without a doubt, one of the best tales in the Charlie Boone universe, I concur wholeheartedly with @Larry that recommends and reviews are needed! Thanks again Geron for taking the time to entertain us with the amazing tales you create to grace us with!!

I fear for Tanner, while Brian has a clue, let's hope it does not take an 'incident' to get him the help he needs...I have to suspect the 'boyfriends' of his mother are none to stable...
-
Looks like no rest for the weary....could be trouble afoot...
-
One can only hope Tanner arrives at a place of safety without being beaten or hurt,,,and soon!!! LMAO I get but what is CMYO?
-
As noted in an earlier chapter's comments, I'm worried about Tanner...

A very sweet chapter...

Ya just gotta love Amy...she's earned her place with this crew!!! Amy looked from one face to the next, and then raised a hand. "I can sense that, too." Robin gave a little, exaggerated, forlorn sigh. "Oh, dear. Once the ladies can sense you're older, it's all over." Amy looked surprised. "Oh, be quiet. You're still hot!" Robin's eyes widened, and his face reddened, and it was all Charlie could do not to laugh out loud. But history's favorite thief was nothing if not resilient. He recovered quickly, and offered Amy a slight bow. "I am honored, m'lady." It was Amy's turn to look embarrassed then. "I mean, you still look young and handsome." Her discomfiture deepened. "Um, I mean--" Horace took her hand, and squeezed it gently. "Sometimes, my dear, it's just best to stop while you're ahead." For what it is worth, truer words were never spoken, it is to our collective detriment that we allow our politicians to focus on the inconsequential rather than what is truly important... Robin smiled, even as he gently shook his head. "Charlie, the human race has to grow up sometime. At some point they are going to have to stop allowing tyrants and troublemakers to hold them hostage. Why people allow a small handful of troublemakers to make the lives of the entire race miserable, is beyond me. But human inertia is legendary. Good people, simply because they are good people, often lack the will that is required to take out the rotten bastards that make us all miserable. And, many people are too easily misled by the propaganda of those that seek to control them. The human race has not arrived at a point where truth has become so important that misinformation is willfully rooted out and dealt with. Until that happens, those with dark designs will always have an advantage." "Then wouldn't it be a good idea to help them get rid of these people?" Kippy asked. "No. It wouldn't. The human race has to mature to the point where it will no longer tolerate these sorts in power. For us to rid them of the problems would be to let them off the hook for ever having to do it themselves. Right now, there is a level playing field between average humans. Good people have as much of a chance at winning out as the rotten ones, if they only develop the will to do it. Our intention is to keep that level playing field in place by eliminating the troublemakers with unfair skwish advantages. But it's going to be up to the people to rid themselves of the troublemakers in their societies. We are not going to do that for them." Looks like my prognosticator is getting a bit better, if it were my proboscis I'd be worried, my comment about squish in the previous chapter just may come to fruition... "Charlie," Kip began then, and Charlie nodded. "I see him." All eyes turned then, and no one said a thing as the man - for it was a man - rose to his feet and moved to the aisle. He turned and came towards them then, slowly, into the light, and stopped across the fire pit from them. He was tall and bearded, and dressed in rough but warm-looking clothing. He smiled and held out his hands, his eyes reflecting the glow of the fire. "Welcome home." Charlie gasped then, recognizing the face, across a century and a half of time. It was Ian Lewellen.
