    Chapter 2

I have to agree with @Backwoods Boy as to the characters you create, Dottie was a pleasant surprise and hit all the right notes, Dickie is aptly named and I see him walking behind the trash collection truck in the future, Greg is the teenage...friend everyone needs... AND...Why can I see Mrs. Hinkie working for Third Planet Inquiries...

    Chapter 74

Thank you for this latest chapter Lord Arbor, it is greatly appreciated. Learning more about the background of the various "players" it is most interesting to see how disappointed the King and those around him are distressed about the shenanigan's Grainger's family has shamefully involved themselves and by extension Grainger in... What is equally amazing is just how intuitively and reflexively extricated himself and at the same time eased the political discomfort, not only of the 'political' class and peers by his adroit maneuvering, but that of the King and the Prince of Wales. More to the point he has gained a powerful ally in Lord Rosslyn with his pre-dinner conversation. Is it any wonder that he is unequaled at sea? I think there couldn't be any better show of support... “Is the King aware of the contents of her will?” Granger asked. “He is not, but he has his suspicions,” Rosslyn said. He realized that Granger wasn’t following his point in this conversation and attributed that to the fact that the young peer had only recently returned to England. “His Majesty is annoyed by your brother and vexed with your father. My being here is a strong message to them that he supports you.” Holding a Doctorate, PHD and a Masters in Sawzallogy from the esteemed and distinguished University of Hard Knocks, I fully sympathize with your workload, please don't think the offer of an honorary degree from said University, could be construed as anything untoward for another chapter!!! Best of luck this semester!!!
  3. Love the description of the baseball game, a triple play is one of the rarest in baseball and a joy to see when it happens...it was just the right impetus to bring the boys together...
  4. Pride goeth before the fall...Kevin and Gary need...should talk!! looking forward to more!!

    Chapter 20

What a great way to bring all the different characters together in a more affirming setting. Having the locals stand up for Marc in the diner was a shear stroke of brilliance, in fact the whole diner scene was so well done... Having said that, I had been thinking that Marc would be the one to be magnanimous, to reach out and make an effort, even after Jonathon crapped all over him for doing so...truly a putz to the nth degree. As for giving half of the estate away, it should come with conditions, overseen by Finn...that the funds raised are spent in such a manner, that none of those funds ever benefit either Maggie or Jonathon...It would be poetic justice to be a fly on the wall observing a neutered Jonathon sputtering over the lack of control!!! Just think what Finn could do if Jonathon ever stepped out of or crossed over that line.... I'm dying to see what Bruce has in the way of architectural plans and how that construction project wraps up. Tim and Bruce have intriguing possibilities, we don't know what or who is in Finn's life, is there already a certain someone? Rachel deserves her own HEA as well as Karen...then there's Maggie, does she remain a timid mouse, or will she find her voice?? Here's hoping that we get to visit these folks again.... The hallmark of a good, great author is one who can craft a tale so intriguing to engender responses such as ours!!! Well done @Libby Drew and thanks!!!
  6. While I think @Dan South might be on the mark, I'm thinking that the water of life is giving our protagonist a chance to decide the rest of his existence...that or the result of serving warm beer...

    Chapter 1

Loved this, so well done and touching on so many bases of teen angst. Including those fears we all had when struggling, not only to make that first connection, but the internal struggle to live with the decision/affirmation of our sexuality, in a world that sometimes simply doesn't get it, as it focuses on issues of decisiveness rather than the issues that critically matter... Greg laughed. "I already have." He looked around again, and then dropped a hand and patted the front of his jeans. "Makes me horny as a motherfucker." I grinned. "Makes you wanna do more stuff with her, doesn't it? Touch her, and kiss her, and maybe some other stuff?" "Yup. No doubt about that." "That's how it is for Donnie and me," I told him. He watched us for a whole ten seconds, and I could see him thinking about it. Then he nodded. "It just is, isn't it? I mean, you don't pick to be the way you are. I see it now. Either a guy looks beautiful to you, or he doesn't." I had to agree with that. I looked over at Donnie, at the light in his blue eyes, and the way they looked back at me, at his smile, and all the things I liked about his face. He was beautiful, yes. To me, anyway.

    Chapter 19

Several times I needed to stop reading and ponder, go back and reread passages...the suspense was masterful, Sawyer and Marc waking Bruce was a stroke of genius...we all hoped that by this chapter the will would be found and the lead up to the discovery, was with just the right touch of levity. Bruce provided the necessary humor, so much so that when he greeted Finn at the front door, I laughed so hard I nearly needed to change one article of clothing... This chapter hit all the right notes and emotions with all the highs and lows and we are left with Marc and Sawyer realizing their broken families may or may not find healing. While I believe Sawyer and Finn will come to an understanding, considering the photos and albums with the news articles, Marc's may be another story. I'm not sure and holding out hope for a reconciliation between Marc and Jonathan might be a stretch. I think @weinerdog had a good point, that Marc may be the first to put a hand out, or offer a monetary settlement. I think Jonathan's stubborness will push him to fight and argue to such a point, things may irreversibly break down unless Maggie steps in...so many ways this could go...might need a case of Ensure and a bottle of hard stuff brought to the lawyers office.... While I understand that once the story arc is completed, everyone rides off into the sunset towards nirvana, this story arc is pregnant with baby story arcs, just waiting for you to bring them to life @Libby Drew!!!

    Chapter 16

Because we have a few chapters left and the author loves toying with us?
  13. While we can't know for certain, it looks like those three met Vion's friends and put them down...harshly... While terminating Messiah's is a good thing, too much to soon is not a good thing...better to keep the a-hole Messiah's on their toes, looking over their shoulders...
  14. A lot of disconnected events and am left wondering how they will coalesce...
  15. I think the old adage "You shall reap what you sow" applies here...
  16. Looks like the law of unintended consequences at work here...

    Chapter 168

Pepe, thanks to GG has landed in the best possible place where he will be well taken care of... Perhaps GG should have a conversation with Arnaud as to building something similar overseas...
  18. Well...well...well, things didn't go quite exactly to plan,,,the following gives me pause for thought as it could mean many things... “One’s bloodsong is sacred, bestowed upon us by the fates.” He slashed the air with his hand. “I saw the incomplete bond and the fear in this fool’s eyes. I won’t tolerate a coward rejecting a gift I have been waiting for for centuries!”

    Chapter 18

Looks like the options for Marc are becoming very limited...finding the will at this point, is painfully taking too much time... Will it come down to Marc's mother, when all hope is abandoned, thwarting her a-hole husband's plans for third-world educational domination, producing a copy of the current will? Again, who was the second signatory to the will? Does Simone or another friend know??? Glad to see Bruce make his appearance and Sawyer connect with Finn.... Who's checking the trash cans' at Aunt May's before trash collection????

    Shakespeare

So sad to see what's left of the world(s) they left behind, that the troubles from earth have made it to the moon, Mars, and looks like beyond. What worries me is that nothing spurs technological advancement like conflict, and here's hoping that the residents of the Ark ll can keep not only abreast of those left behind but lightyear's ahead...I am very interested to see what the probe to Tau Ceti reveals... Although it isn't my greatest attribute, I will do my best to remain patient...

Well now...I'm not sure I'm buying Devin's explanation unless he's selling a bridge as well...otherwise enjoying the story!!!

    Chapter 12

I'm an old dinosaur from days gone by where Dad's reaction and choice of administering punishment would have been acceptable. As I believed then and do now...to hit someone as a matter of punishment is simply wrong and a failure in critical thinking. To me it is parental abuse of the worst kind...

    Chapter 17

Late to the comment party once again and everyone has managed to raise the questions that came to my mind... Having said that, I have observations concerning Sawyer's grandfather...Sawyer tries to explain the how and why of the way he was, that he would not talk about the law so much as he would discuss his time in WW2 with him in general terms. I wonder if that experience may have changed him, that he saw and did things no human should. Then the reason that Sawyer's grandmother left her husband, could Aunt May be that reason? Then on another note and for something completely different...could Bruce have possibly seen a legal notice from an attorney seeking relatives of a will that needs probating???
