I have to disagree; 20 years ago, that behavior was just as unacceptable as it would have been even 40 years ago, and I am old enough to understand that, more importantly, so did my contemporaries and friends.
To me, Brody crossed so many friendship lines as to ruin himself amongst his friends. That behavior was never acceptable. Among my friends and acquaintances, he would have been kicked to the curb so f'ing quickly, he might as well have left town.
The sad part is that despite the protests of those in the group, that this was not what they wanted, promised not to do, Brody sallied forth, ignoring reason and responsibility, to assuage his own selfish whims...
I graduated high school and college shortly after the dinosaurs lost the civil war, and even then, we all knew when in an uncomfortable social setting, that no meant just that...no....
