  1. Hmm, popularity is an interesting thought. Gay sex was certainly a lot more popular in Ancient Greece and Rome - maybe it's time for a reboot .
  2. Did they howl?

  4. "There's a reason that our federal government doesn't want to pass any non-discrimination legislation. There are people alive that could sue for billions if that were the case. Every level of our government from federal down to district dog catcher would be liable to some extent. They know this. We know this." There is a way round this - make the new law effective from a stated date (retrospective law is actually pretty rare and generally abhorrent anyway). In good ol' Blighty various govts passed 9 separate anti-discrimination laws over 40 odd years: -Equal Pay Act 1970 -Sex Discrimination Act 1975 -Race Relations Act 1976 -Disability Discrimination Act 1995 -Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 -Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 -Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 -Equality Act 2006, Part 2 -Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007 They've all worked pretty well. But you can see how it all got just a bit complicated - so they were all consolidated into the Equality Act 2010. Given the will, it can be done
  5. Goodness. I think I read somewhere about the American Constitution and how it created the World's Greatest Free Democracy - the Land of the Free. And now you're telling me it ain't worth a pail of warm spit? *rubs head in confusion - feels a headache coming on...*
  6. I hear the Church of England is pretty laid back. You don't even need to believe in God, they're happy just to get bums on seats *I understand this has a different meaning in the US but, hey, there's always Google Translate *
  7. blame England. Well we get blamed for most things that have gone bad But in this case it's true. The sacred US constitional right to bear arms is actually based on England's constitutional right to bear arms established in 1689. That continued well into the 20th century. But we seem to have weaned ourselves off it, unlike in the US where it acquired the status of Holy Writ. There again, in England we never had powerful vested interests to resist this change - namely a powerful gun lobby...
  8. happy 21st Never! and happy motoring *poop poop!*
  9. awesome man and music and he once said his guitar playing technique lacked skill... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hka3RklR_A
  10. no point - they all over-promise and under-deliver. Complain? They don't give a s*!t 'cos they've already stitched you into a package and done you up like a kipper
  11. The reason that racial division is so profound in the US is because it goes all the way back to slavery. There has never been closure. It is an open and suppurating wound South Africa was able to achieve what seemed impossible - to get closure on apartheid (which in reality is what you had in the US after abolition and all the way right through to living memory) - by its Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Until the US recognises and addresses this with its own appropriate healing process, the American racial wound will never be healed, and division and conflict will continue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truth_and_Reconciliation_Commission_%28South_Africa%29

    Spiders

as you know this thread is a non-sensational, information resource on these creatures. Posts are in no way intended to cause alarm, or scare you, or give you nightmares. It's all about giving you facts to help you. When you meet them. Especially in confined spaces. Where your options may be limited. Like in a car [see Val's status update today]. Because they have eight legs, and fat hairy bodies and lots of eyes. And they move very fast. So here's another helpful news update "Spider Horror - Man squashes spider, explodes into tiny little spiders" http://pulse.ng/viral/spider-horror-man-squashes-spider-explodes-into-tiny-little-spiders-id3683639.html .
  13. hmm, looks like you got lots of tasty treats cumming coming your way Carlos Have a great day!
  14. a completely innocent question for all those nice folks living in the middle bit of the good ole USofA: when God signed off the final designs for Man, why did he put the male G-spot in such a peskily difficult place to get at? It seems to need something hard and thick to rub up against it for the design to work and the Good Book doesn't appear to cover this... .
  15. every week I forgot the disappointment of the previous week's ending as I eagerly lapped up the opening of the next episode must be a slow leaner...

    Unions

I can't comment on the US, but I'd be surprised if it's that different from the UK. Here in the UK the police are not employed by government and they are not an arm of government. Parliament makes law, the police enforce it, and government "runs things". Kind of That means the police can and do go after individuals in parliament and government when they break the law. Isn't this what happened in the US with Watergate? It's all about separation of powers. Of course there are nations where police are an arm of government. There's a term for these: Police States. So I'm relaxed about police in the UK being in a union, which can be a useful control on inappropriate employment terms and conditions. Likewise with government employees - mostly they're a bunch of admins and low grade staff. Obviously unions have no place at the top of the government food chain, where the Law is eat or be eaten
  18. well yes, but then we all believe in motherhood and apple pie The reality is that humans have always had and always will have sex before they "should". And 15 is pretty unexceptional. So there's a good chunk of adult societies walking around that had their first sex at around that age. Plenty of research exists that shows this. Adults might not like it - whether or not they behaved similarly - but that doesn't and won't change the reality.
  19. I believe I already made that point...
  20. The boy was 15. That's quite a typical age for first time sex. Parents may frown, but then their memories often aren't so good...
  21. Surely the defining feature here is that it was an abusive relationship involving breach of trust by a teacher who was in a position of authority and exploited her authority over a vulnerable under-aged child.
  22. very well deserved Addy!

    Failure

don't look on it as failure, you've just been busy living your life. And when all's said and done that's the most important thing - lists are useful for shopping
