Margret is so consumed by her bitterness that she's become an angry ball of dust inside. Her soul is dead. She is to be pitied, since those kind of people won't change and there's probably no hope for her. I worry about the harm she does to the people around her though, how far will she go to poison the lives of everybody else?

I love a good mystery, and this one has a ghost too. Perfect for the season. I have suspicions now, but won't say what they are until chapter 2.

Has Talleyrand met his match? I'm excited that you've included him in your story. He isn't really a challenge for Granger, but Talleyrand was a remarkable survivor for his day. The fact that even today he is spoken of at all, tells us he was unique. This could be fun...

This is a beautiful story about devotion and love,- and obligation. Hypocrisy and bias figure large, as well as does sacrifice. Oppression is something we are all familiar with, and how it can shape our lives and maybe even ruin them. Mostly it's about love though, courage, and family. Love rules!

Things don't settle down for long around the ranch, do they? Jesse's scumbag father is stirring up trouble, - for money. The slimeball is going to fight dirty too, since that's his MO. Feel free to kill that one off if you want, with my complete approval!

At the end of the last chapter, I thought there was a 50/50 chance something would happen with the guard after that meeting. Yes, no, yes, no, absolutely not! Then you surprised me. I like that.

I'm hoping these Oberion water frogs are a worthy gift for Parliament. Are you sure they'll measure up to the politicians' standards? Will they be horrible enough? If the frogs are just slimy, then they'll hardly be noticed, - even if it's poisonous slime.

Hmm, - a kidnapping! I can think of four suspects right away. I feel sad for Dylan, since he's been living as a victim for so long. He's just begun to get back his confidence and I hate to think how this will affect him. Of course, this may be a test, and serve to make him stronger. We'll see, won't we?

I'm enjoying this interlude with Winkler and Jacobs. It's been easy to relegate Winkler to the background and take him for granted, because that's essentially his function as a servant. I've always been curious to know more. His name is Joshua, and now we know more about why he's been so devoted to Grainger. He's also younger than I'd imagined,- only 18. Jacob's wife in New York shouldn't be too much of a problem if there are no children. Well, I'll wait and see.

Quite a welcome to the new planet! I find it strange that John and the girls would leave Karl alone to fend off the mother wolf. That would be hard to forgive. The whole helpless female routine won't do. I hope something eats those two useless girls soon.

Simon's got a serious crush on Alexander, and I'm still wondering why. Alexander is such a distracted, inhibited person, can he even let loose enough to allow himself to love? Also, how does one make chewy tea?

Wicked Auntie Margret. There's no heart to her, and she uses her angry bias toward everybody around her to confuse the real issue that she's a lonely, aging woman who doesn't love anybody because she doesn't even love herself. It's made her a shamelessly hateful bitch, and if she can't be happy, then nobody else can be either.

Wirrin's da bomb! The ultimate weapon. The AI's know it and his friends are beginning to see it too, - even Sonic. The Rogue and his Cadre don't stand a chance against such an opponent, not that they'll stop trying to fight... I get the feeling that this chapter and the previous one are building up to something big. Why's that?

Simon is a treasure. What's not to love? He's a truly nice man who's got many talents, and has a generous and affectionate nature. He can cook too. So he's a bit impulsive, but he means well, and has patience nevertheless. Luce is right: he's a catch. Alexander is sweet, shy, and painfully reserved. I imagine that Simon may intimidate him a little. Are they compatible? We'll see... Simon and Luce have such a charming rapport, and he's totally devoted to her. She's a lucky girl to have him as a friend. I worry about both of them when she marries James. He's so insecure and uptight. I can't believe he's the one already fussing over the wedding dress. He's such a dweeb! I'm becoming more attached to this story with each chapter.
