A Morning at the Beach, In the Warm Sun
NoSkis commented on Drew Payne's story chapter in A Morning at the Beach, In the Warm Sun
thanks drew, i missed this chapter originally but am glad you have provided this prospective. (at least in the usa) too much emphasis is placed on quantity/longevity of life over quality of life. I'm grateful you gave Hal the strength to make his decision and follow through on it. I'm profoundly sad these options are rarely discussed. your stories, especially those which are influenced by your vocation, are much appreciated thank you -
Etienne ran away from the twins - they are hurting as well. tsukihana - while i agree with Buz, you conveyed so much with this chapter! thanks for continuing to share!
-
Carlos - then good 😉 for some reason I was a bit concerned there was too much emphasis on turning of the monitor - taking away the 'back up' of Pam hearing what was going in with Liebe. i'll just go back to my rock now and enjoy your writing, lol. dave
-
Thanks Carlos, glad to see this arc start - but gotta say that last paragraph raised my hackles. we've seen Liebe in other story lines post this chapters time line, so all ends up reasonably well, bit still..... maybe i'm just too sensitive, reading more into what you plan. thanks for continuing this universe! dave

how heart breaking on two levels: - father unable to accept his son's sexuality -mother unable to support her son in a time of great need so glad Simon has Freddie and Niki willing to fight/support him. I appreciate Rosie has been beaten down for so long she only has so much fight left in her but hope Rosie can find strength to become an advocate for her son and herself I really appreciate your writing, Drew. This was a rough, well constructed, chapter to read. thank you.

A devilshly Clever Trick
NoSkis commented on Rigby Taylor's story chapter in A devilshly Clever Trick
wonderful to see more of your writing - thanks for sharing! such a light hearted tale of a serious issue. If only real life situations could be resolved by simple evidence.... dave -
it is rather amazing that is consistent across all plains of existence, even when there may be 'evidence' of gods.......

ugh, how can i be the first comment? i see palantir as one of the top authors - sci fi or fantasy. what does it take to get them noticed more than they are????
-
i'm always astonished - and grateful - for your logic, even in fantasy worlds (or what I assume to be a fantasy world). thank you, dave

wednesdays are a highlight - usually i receive the gift of a new Denied chapter. While congratulations are in order for your story (ies), characters, plot and writing skills, i want to thank you for sharing all of the above and making my wednesdays! there are many of us who truly appreciate your talents! dave

hey drew, as i have come to learn, your profession puts you in a position to observe those under stresses most of us have no experiences with. they can be quite jarring to most - though in no way am i saying you only observe. you are trained to act, and by keeping your job prove you do act, when the majority of us would freeze (i suspect I fall into that category of freezing....} i really enjoy your perspectives, even though (especially 😉 ) we are an ocean apart. thanks, dave

hey drew, so well written, i suspect many can relate, if they take the time to read. while we generally march in cadence with the rest of society, there are events which - if we are fortunate - separate us from the crowd. thanks, dave

just ran into an update, so have to start at the beginning. "be careful what you wish for - you might get it" is yelling in my mind looking forward to see where you take us. thanks! dave

On purpose or not, I thought it added to the story. Everything is happening quickly now, the group is under a somewhat unknown deadline and their access to information is more limited with Ranevargar not able to contribute, at least in current time line. i'm very much enjoying Widderkin!
-
i always enjoy your writing - thanks for sharing! one question though - i found this chapter more difficult to follow and am curious if that was on purpose? When people are on a time sensitive mission it often is stressful and may be difficult to know the details of what is going on. The details may be understood later when taking time to review, but that time is often not a luxury that's available initially. And to be clear, when I took the time to re-read, everything makes sense, though your typical highly detailed story telling (and that is meant as a high compliment!} was missing. thanks again!
-
what a great approach to learning - especially something we are *pretty sure* isn't possible/real. Thanks Cynus - always enjoy the depths of your tales

hey Sui, sorry to hear you were ill, thrilled to know you have someone who cares for you. hope recovery is proceeding well - i'm always grateful when you share your talents, no matter the time frame. thanks!

with all due respect, many of us who have canines in our lives understand we are, at best, custodians of our furry brethren. Ownership brings up sad images of slavery, not the partnership many with non-humans as part of their families feel. the canines i have had the good fortune to be involved with in my life have done so much more for me than i have done for them.....

This quote: "...then I’d find something useful to do...." applies irrespective of your origin: robot, AI, human or other (intended to be respectful of others I am not aware of). thank you, Kohen and Cia

wow, so much to process. very interested in this new culture (influenced by the Turkish culture?) in your writing. thanks!
-
glad to see you are keeping in touch with those in Pentalus and the Shade - thanks for sharing the updates here 🙂

that's cute: "Sorry for the late chapter..." sure, we miss chapters when they don't appear automagically, but it is a creative process that you share with us. creativity is not often something that can be turned on and off at will. so yeah, schedules are nice, and glad to know you try to stick to them - but some of us also appreciate what you share with us. thanks!

It's been a long time since Harry Chapins 'i wanna learn a love song' came through my random play list, but gotta admit it is oddly deserving to this chapter. i guess we get our just deserts.....

Hi ronyx, this makes me sad: "....until readers continued to complain they were too short..." you are the author who shares your worlds - it often is those who consume, not create, who demand more - as if they have the right. we appreciate when you provide new chapters, though it may be helpful to remember that Those who can, do. Those who can't, critique. thank you for doing 🙂 dave
