That's indeed shocking. That it's happening just this minute somewhere... I don't think I can write roses and rainbows for this series, you're right, lol. Thank you for the review, Puppi!

Thank you, Val! For your help also. It took me too long, I need to make up my mind about the next one.

I'm glad you like what I did with the draft. I had this blurry image in my mind, you helped to clear it. Yes...the next one. I'm not quite sure...might to have to talk to you and Val about it. Thank you, Cole!

Thank you for your kind words, dughlas! I don't know what'll follow, yet. Oliver's story? Zaidu and Adam? Oliver, Zaidu, and Adam? Who knows.

The disclaimer, or even marking the flash-backs/memories with italics was difficult for me. I always thought it should be clear without doing this. Still some people pointed out it might not, understandably, so I bit the bullet or whatever. Thank you for your review, Tim.
  6. Happy Birthday, Valkyrie! I heard something about a party?!
  7. I wrote found poems before, mostly from lyrics of country songs of all things, lol. It was difficult to works with the James Joyce text, I don't know why. Quadrilles! Quadrilles! was they first I found, reading the text for the first time. I also used quotes from a book about etiquette for this poem. It took me a while and I'm glad you like it. Thank YOU for the idea and the wonderful, encouraging comment.

This series actually started with me thinking about the Gilgamesch theme. I can't believe you found it! Perfect! Thank you so much for your comment, Emi!

I'm trying something new with this anthology series. Again. So yes, intense...sad...a cruel picture. That's what I had in mind. Thank you for your comment, Gary!

I felt actually a little bad, because this really is hard to read. It had to be this way, though. I'm not sure what the next one will be. Oliver's story? More Adam and Zaidu? Thank you for your sharing your thoughts, Lit.

Dark, yes. Maybe that was the reason why I almost didn't make it in time. You're right, better not read this before bedtime. Thank you for your feedback, northie. Maybe a dash of hope at the end?

Adam The crackling fire is a surprise. He can feel its warmth and smell the woody fragrance of smoke. This is the afterlife? Curious, he opens his eyes, when pain erupts inside him, burns his innards, and brings back the agony and despair he thought he had escaped. Hell! He had known he was dying, so when the dark figure stepped out of the shadows, he wasn’t surprised. Black robes rustled as the Reaper stopped beside his cot, looked down at him, and finally took Adam’s wrist to suck what was l

  21. Loss It had begun to snow again. He watched sleepily the flakes, silver and dark, falling obliquely against the lamplight. The time had come for him to set out on his journey westward. Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling on every part of the dark central plain, on the treeless hills, falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and, farther westward, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves. It was falling, too, upon every part of the lonely chur
