Thank you, Def, for reading and commenting. I did some research to write this and it was hard. As Puppi said, thinking it still happens. Seeing what hate did and still does to people... I think I'm ready to write about love again.

The cinquains are powerful. I really like them.

It is telling that someone else saw what Terry didn't: He got to know love. So, there is hope, but sadness or maybe melancholy too. Love doesn't always mean HEA, sometimes it means 'Happy right now'. Sad with a dash of happiness, very well written.

The disclaimer, or even marking the flash-backs/memories with italics was difficult for me. I always thought it should be clear without doing this. Still some people pointed out it might not, understandably, so I bit the bullet or whatever. Thank you for your review, Tim.

I wrote found poems before, mostly from lyrics of country songs of all things, lol. It was difficult to works with the James Joyce text, I don't know why. Quadrilles! Quadrilles! was they first I found, reading the text for the first time. I also used quotes from a book about etiquette for this poem. It took me a while and I'm glad you like it. Thank YOU for the idea and the wonderful, encouraging comment. -
This series actually started with me thinking about the Gilgamesch theme. I can't believe you found it! Perfect! Thank you so much for your comment, Emi!
