  1. Well you were quick, so I had to be quick too. Thanks again Lisa, and admit it you like me giving you the chills every now and then.
  2. The Dream Tim looked up from his computer screen when his friend and colleague Mark, hurried through the door into their shared office. "You're late." Mark grunted something unintelligible while he hung his overcoat in their small closet. When he finally slumped down in his chair behind the desk opposite from Tim's, Tim could see dark rings under Mark's eyes. The man looked utterly exhausted. "Hehe, someone had an interesting night, me thinks." Mark scoffed. "I wish." Taking a closer look,

    Chapter 11

I was dying to learn more about the magical items. The ring was a good start but I want to know more. Another thing is that in German Opi(e) means grandad, so it always makes me smile when Jonas calls him that. I really enjoy this story.

Whew. I'm so glad Sam didn't take Mark back then. I wouldn't want you being mad at us after all. The wrath of LBO Thanks for your comment, Sly.
  5. I second this.
  6. Because of you and your CARDS I watched some baseball games, but of course my choice would always be football (soccer) and the World Cup over baseball. My local team is abysmal, but we love them anyway. I don't take my nephews to the big games anymore, too many idiots around. Money and rabid fans have ruined that for us. We watch small local teams now.
  7. Do you think Cole would be terribly upset with me if the next chapter of T & F takes a little longer? *eyes 310* There's a wolf...
  8. My niece hates him, she's seventeen and I'm very proud of her.
  9. Hi Astro, hi Eli! Welcome welcome (back).
  10. How you talked about the Mississippi? I talk like that about my river, and I knew then I had to read this. It's a wonderful story, Aaron. River analyzes himself, finally sees what he has to change and goes for it. I love him already and would read everything you'll write about him in the future, even if this particular story is being told.

    Chapter 1

This was a great metaphor for how we could solve our problems: by working together against our differences. (damnit) To use the classic pantheons for this was simply a brilliant idea. Thanks for that one.

Lol. Well I think that's the nature of a short story you're struggling with. Per definition they start in the middle, mostly show a decisive moment/struggle of life and the endings are often abrupt and open. After reading a short story, I often find myself wanting to know more. I like to think the author wants me to speculate about what could happen next. So I understand your comment as a great compliment, and if you really want to know more there will be one more perspective in the summer anthology. Thank you MJ85.

Thank you for your comment Bill. Sometimes we have to face the fact it is over, knowing why helps. (at least me) I couldn't imagine them being friends when I started the story, but yes, I think they can make it happen.

Thank you Aaron. Although each story can stand alone, they add to an overall picture. I'm glad you like all three so far. Usually a story tells the events from one perspective only, and you ask yourself why the heck did they do that? I wanted to give all of them a voice to explain, while writing an ongoing story.

Thanks Kitt! Poor Sam, having been smacked by my readers so often for doing nothing.Ah yes, one more perspective and it's over. I'm still not entirely sure about that one.

I wanted Mark to be a usually cool and collected character, sometimes even acting detached, who became a little unhinged, after having the day he had.Thank you for your comment, Mann.

    Chapter 1

I promise to behave next time I go into the forest. No littering, no running over plants. I can see myself googling some names today. Thanks Andy, I really enjoyed the story. More would be good. Are all the fairies evil?

Cole, we talked about this story and you said you weren't sure if you'd post it. I'm glad you did. It's a great story. The 'medical talk' never distracted, you described Clay's problems believable. The ending is rather tragic, now that they stopped the research Jason can't benefit from his own work, can he? I really hope you'll continue this. Well done!
  19. I'm a chemical-technical assistant and have a PhD in Biology. I worked in a lab at university before I became a teacher, tutor and editor for scientific publications/texts. I write plays with a friend, play piano at a bar (sometimes). I guess I get easily bored. I really don't want to go to school anymore, but I read lots of scientific publications to know what's going on in my field. I don't want to teach the same boring things teachers did twenty years ago after all.
  20. No storm, no volcanic eruption, no flood, still Nature's wrath was quite effective. A surprising take on the theme. My favorite passage was : but I also felt like one of Cinderella’s ugly stepsisters standing next to him. I couldn't help to picture them. Thank you, I really enjoyed your story.

    The Story

After the beginning (they met in a bar, Robert looking for a one-night stand) I didn't expect a slowly developing relationship coming out of it. What a nice surprise! The only problem I had was trying to figure out why David had been afraid of Robert at the bar and why his friends, especially Douglas had a problem with Robert. I had the feeling I missed something important somehow and actually read parts of the story again. I liked that Robert made an effort to take it slow so far so that David felt unwanted at some point of the story. I could understand both point of views here. Great story. I'm glad you made the deadline and if you feel like it I would love to read more of those two.
  22. My plans for the weekend: Finish next chapter of T & F and reading all the anthology stories. Short nights ahead.

    Burnt Dreams

Thank you for reading and commenting, Suvitar. I really liked to write Maya's character. It's good to know she'll always have Paul's back and hopefully will support him in the future, with whatever plan he will come up with.

Next one is from Paul's perspective and he has to have a backup plan, right? I'm glad you enjoyed the story.Thank you for your comment, Suvitar.

There had to be closure before they can move on. I'm glad I was able to show their difference.Thank you Percy.
