[Topher_Lydon] The Peligian Heresy
Lugh replied to Topher Lydon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
::pulls out the hat pin:: Things I would like to know: Rikard's weakness (every villian has one) What is wrong with Darien -- the blackouts, cramped handwriting, vivid dreams of Elias.... What that crystal did to Edward and how it will effect him retaining what little of Elias he does remember and how that in turn will effect his relationship with Darien What that wench Seph-whatever is really up to How did Rikard sabotage Lauren to get at Darien (I know there has to be a twist in there somewhere) More Ezekiel (that was kewl btw, the ship fighting back and all) What in all the worlds is so important that there is a 300 year old blood feud going on over it... I know several things have been hinted at and some blugeoned over our heads, but there must be a single underlying cause that makes it all possible. well I guess that is enough for now.... Lugh -
[Topher_Lydon] The Falcon Banner
Lugh replied to Topher Lydon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
....stops gagging at that other response.... I think at the heart of the story it's a romance, but that is not the main plot which makes it by defualt an adventure story (according to the romance writer's guild people). In the choice between space opera or war epic.... definatly space opera. There is too much going on for it to be a war epic, including the fact that the main plot isn't focused on the war (individual battles and the like) nearly constantly. As for what makes me mad... more on that later -
I sorta have to agree... this is a very positive atmosphere to explore various topics in literature. The feedback is really nice too.... thanks to everyone who has done so -- for anyone. And KEEP READING! Lugh

1. I like to dress in women's clothing 2. No one but me and god knows / remembers my original hair color 3. At one point in my life I weighed 185 lbs Ok time to come true: 1. True -- I often purchase my jeans in the jr. miss department and shoes in the womens department. Also I did drag for charity which was really really fun. 2. True -- if you take into consideration that my mother has altizmers, my father recently passed, and all my siblings but one were out of the house when I was even born, much less when I started to get hair. Not to mention the fact that my hair naturally changed color when I hit puberty and my facial hair (if and when I let it grow) comes in a different color than the hair on my head. Plus we have to add in the facts that I started dying my hair when I was a young teen and the fact that NAIR is my best friend.... well... it's true. 3. False Heh. Yay for you loosing the weight. Nope, see the explainations. Heh. You guessed it! Awwwww. Tell me what you think of me... really? Well using logic... which is often wrong here goes: because 1 is possible and 2 is not probable and the probability rate of 3 being very high for truth AND because 1 is highly unlikely and 2 is highly unlikely and 3 is highly likely AND because I like to take a gamble I'm going to say that #1 is true, #2 is true (as far as you know) and #3 is false.

The first thing to remember is that every school district is different. Mandatory school age in the US is from 7 to 16. Most children start somewhere between 5 and 6 year old in Kindergarten. There are age cut off dates and they vary from place to place drastically. (Before school starts, 9/30, 10/31, 12/31, and where I started school.... July 1) It is a local municipal decision. The levels again depend on where you grow up. These are some common levels: Primary School -- Kindergarten - grade 2 Elementary School -- Kindergarten - grade 3, 4, 5 (depending on the district) Intermediate School -- Grade 3, 4 or 5 to 5 or 6 (depending on the district) Middle School -- grade 6 to 8 Junior High School -- grade 7 to 8 or 9 High School -- grade 9 or 10 to 12 Typically there are two combonations Primary / Intermediate / Middle / High OR Elementry / Junior High (or Middle) / High Again the events depends on the school/ school system/ and tradition. Most High Schools have Homecoming (can be related to Football or basketball depending on which is the bigger sport in the district). There can be a fall dance/festival, a winter formal, a spring formal/prom (depending on who is invited, which happens as early as mid-april and as late as the first week of June (usually between spring break and memorial day though)) and graduation which may or may not include its own traditions including a senior skip day. There are the usual holidays, off the friday after thanksgiving (4th thursday of nov.), off from a couple days before Christmas to as near as Jan 2 as possible (this can be up to 2 full weeks). Spring break is usually the week before or after Easter, again depending on the district. In High School, the first grade available (9th or 10th) is a freshman. Where there is a 9th grade, 10th graders are called sophomores, 11th grade is a junior and 12th graders are seniors. Anything I missed? Lugh

I'm with you on this one Loki, the fear of failure is my biggest fear. Oddly, I'm also terrified of success. If I could find a way of not failing with out the stress of success... I think I would be a much better person (and writer). Me too Shadows, but I think this goes hand in hand with some of my other fears. If I fail I will be rejected (by whom I do not know) yet if I succeed they may not like me, thus rejecting me there too. I have a mild fear of this, yet that fear can be played upon by the right person with interesting consequences.

Dom, I'm sorry you are having to go through that with readers. I hope it does not discourage you too much and that you keep writing what ever it is that you feel like writing. I'm sure there are enough people out there who will pretty much read anything you post (including your grocery list!). Have a wonderful day, and happy writing. Lugh

Domaholism is what those of us who read Dom Luka's stories suffer. If you don't know who Dom Luka is, well it's not to hard to figure out.... look under Hosted Authors and find his site... the current story is Desert Dropping. There are several others. If you start with any of them, try The Log Way (after reading DD to be up to date!).

Considering the time of the year and the frequency of posts the past couple of weeks, today is Tuesday and if Dom keeps his pattern we can expect a new posting sometime in the next 24 hours. The question now becomes -- can he do it? Not pushing or anything. Lugh (who is blue)

I was reading something and I made an assumption based on personal knowledge, and it seems the author made another assumption based also on personal knowledge... therefore I would like to know.... what color do you think Saffron is?
