Where do I go from here?
Timothy M. commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Where do I go from here?
Thanks, Comsie Yeah, it was perhaps too much of a challenge to write a story with two big lumps of background stuff (the original Valdemar book AND my Anthology story) being unknown to most of the readers. So I'm pretty stoked you say you could get into the story even so. And I admit one hidden purpose of this story was to tempt a few readers to give my other Valdemar fanfic a try. I'm all I achieved it too. -
Where do I go from here?

LOL, in the back of my head grumbling and waiting for me to get my act together. -
LOL, this was weird. I would have thought the demon would see himself in that description: not feeling appreciated by management, being denied a relationship, and generally dissatisfied. But his speculations about female Hell was hilarious.

Cavendish has let his heart overrule his head many times, as far as I recall. He is in love with this John Ward, but fears - quite rightly - the young man will have moved on when he returns. But why can't he see Granger's love and friendship is worth more than any other relationship he has? He needs to pull himself together and make the most of this opportunity.
-
Oohhh, I love it when Granger gets all stern and wields his hidden power.
-
I've always liked Major Treadway and I'm glad Granger has him as a friend and ally. Cavendish really isn't being sensible.

Thank you, CG I'm glad you found your way. Yes, they'll all be much better off away from Edgehold. Don't worry, the Valdemar series do not disappoint. The Last Herald Mage Trilogy has Vanyel as the main character, and we get to meet the love of his life and hear about his difficulties as a gay man, mainly in relation to his parents. I can't say any more without spoilers, but be warned of a tragic end. Even so it's well worth reading, see also Myr's blog (link in words). Jonne only gets a short mention in book 2, so my story is an attempt to flesh that encounter out. But there is another wonderful gay couple, who features twice in the trilogy. The later Valdemar books don't have a gay man as the only main character, but Vanyel's descendant Firesong features in several books from Winds of Change and forward, and he is an intriguing and sexy character. Hope this helps.

The mystery of Jacob deepens. I agree with Dave about the hot ending.
-
How true (says the author with a character named Jacob, lol). Hmm, I like the idea of a threesome, and Kiven is sexy when he takes charge.
-
Such a fascinating tale. They seem to be well matched.

Northern Exposure: General Discussion
Timothy M. replied to Mark Arbour's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
Ugh, I've forgotten who John Ward is. Does anyone remember ? And wasn't it nice to see Granger mentioned in Black Widow? -
On Valentine's Day how better to warm your heart than by reading the tale of two men who have been sorely disappointed in love, but yet hope to meet their soul mate. Someone who will be loyal and supportive, another man who is ready to commit himself fully, and who wants you the way you are and not for show or material benefits. If this is your first Headstall story, be 'warned' that he is unfailingly romantic, and believes in the good of men whether in adversity or in luck. He also has a marked preference for hunky handsome guys with expressive eyes and Well, don't we all ? Oh and of course, you should read the first 16 chapters of Cards on the Table before starting this story, but even if you don't you'll enjoy the song and dance performed here. I hope you'll also appreciate the well-chosen chapter titles and chapter notes. This is another area where Gary excels.

I suddenly miss my grandmother. She was generous and accepting too. I'm glad this deserving ring joined a loving couple.

It's Valentine's Day and that reminded me of a very special February 14th in a heart-breaking and heart-warming story. Of course, I cannot tell you what happens on Valentine's Day in AC Benus' Destiny Novel. You will have to buckle up and take the roller coaster ride just as I did. Perhaps read the prequel Dignity first, but even if you don't, you'll find yourself drawn into this tale of life, love and death. There are villains and heroes, betrayals and loyalty, fear and courage, but most importantly love to counter the hate, as well as some beautiful romantic and sad moments. Get those tissues ready. On this Valentine's Day let me wish for all humans, whatever their gender or orientation, that they may find the love, honesty and safety which Jack craves in his struggle for life. Your ability to evoke our emotions was in full display in Destiny, AC. I'm proud to have been part of the journey.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean an official contest. Just that we readers could make an effort to find and review those stories, and after a while you could check out the reviews and chose one.

Chapter 63 A Brilliant Move
Timothy M. commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 63 A Brilliant Move
"Everything has fallen into place." Yes it has, and it only took you 63 chapters. Kendall and Michael have a home together. Chet and Aron are a solid couple and friends. Nate and Bodie have emerged from under a dark cloud and will find their own Cloud Nine with the continuous support of M&K - even if they did destroy 'the first house' the boys built together. But it seems like they get their revenge back in this snow fight. Michael made things fall into place for Mrs. B. who got a new perspective on the urn accident. She can now laugh about it and tease Mr. B about being all over the place once more, and finally losing some weight. I didn't think of it before now, but I know Mrs. B and Kendall's mum will become great friends. And Kendall's dad will take on the role of protector with great relish and it will do him good to join the ladies on a constitutional walk, which at some point will include a pram to get the baby to take a nap. Truly, everything about this move was brilliant - the joy our guys felt at taking possession of their home and showing it to family and friends. The house warming gifts (including Lanny setting up the electronics which can be a pain) and Nate's bedroom getting initiated with Bodie (in all innocence). Preparing to have the puppies arrive and planning for improvements for the future, including having Kendall's parents with them. I foresee the kitchen table and chairs getting plenty of use, at breakfast, lunch, and even dinners for two, but best of all sitting in the evening with Chet and Arron, talking and joking over a few beers the way friends do. Yes, it was a brilliant move to buy that table, which will forever remind M&K of their new best friends. Now, since it's Valentine's Day I'm sure you're contemplating all the wonderful intimate stuff lovers can get up to, and of course they do need to initiate the house and the bed, right ? Perhaps Nate would like to walk Bodie home after dinner and have a sleep-over? Just so the guys (and we) can celebrate with more brilliant moves. -
Chapter 9 Beautiful Day
Timothy M. commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 9 Beautiful Day
Whenever I read this chapter I have the song 'That's the Power of Love' playing in my head. Chet and Arron not only spend a Beautiful Day together after a caring night, but they discover why true love is important. Loving another and being loved gives you confidence and strength and joy in life like nothing else. They will never again feel alone or unworthy - or if they do, it will only take looking into the eye of one another, giving a hug or a kiss, and they're on top of the world again. That's the Power of Love. Happy Valentine's Day, Gary. -
Chapter 62 An Ace up his Sleeve
Timothy M. commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 62 An Ace up his Sleeve
So, what a better wait to celebrate Valentine's Day than to revisit one of the great Romance stories on GA and finally get my comments written for the latest chapters. This was a nostalgic chapter, with Kendall looking back at past joys and sorrows with his parents and with Michael. But it also pointed to the new horizons mentioned in the chapter comment. Kendall is ready to leave his old home and his old life, where his beast friend would never be more, and his father was dismissive of him as a man. Packing up his records brought forth important memories which he shared with Michael for the first times. Those Exposed Cards meant a lot and Michael immediately went on a mission to relieve his partner's pain. Kendall loved him for that, and so do we. I'm still trying to make up my mind, who had the Ace up his Sleeve. Of course, the easy interpretation is Ace himself, surprising Kendall not only with the gifts, but also by bringing a duplicate of the very first meal they shared in the apartment. But I think the honors go to Kendall, for knowing just how to deal with a horny Michael. He'll always have that ace up his sleeve, to make sure his Ace stays right where he wants him and does what he's told. Of all the many wonderful couples in GA fiction I think Ace and Deuce are high on the list of Valentine Lovers of the Decade - with Chet and Arron as close competitors. -
The problem with that might be the switch in status could generate automatic notifications, and followers of the story may think the author is back. We saw that happen when the admins switched Ratings to Mature for many old stories. They had to post disclaimers of such and such an author being active again.

For the missing story descriptions on stories where the authors are no longer on GA, we could have a small contest of Story Reviews. The best one (most enticing without spoilers) for each story gets chosen to be added as the official story description.

Are you talking about the dark blue Add Story button next to the My Stories button ? Isn't that for uploading a new story ? Or is there a tab I'm not seeing ? I'm on a laptop in Google Chrome, standard format (not fluid)

If you want to manage your Favorite stories, that's done in your profile under Manage Followed Content. But I'm not sure it will solve the question you're asking. Oh, never mind, I can see you know about that. Have you tried logging out and back in? Or waiting a day, since some things may need a nightly site update to progress.

Here is what Myr said recently in one of the Tech Tuesday blogs.

I think there are some software problems with favorite stories, which the admins are working hard to resolve. Have you tried liking the story as well as follow ?

And now we shall see if he's clever enough to tell Lakshou or the Captain and thus pass on the responsibility for handling this.
