    Goon

Most of us have wished, at some point or another, that we could go back and change the past. Make another decision at a crucial moment in time, which perhaps would have changed the direction of our lives. Goon is a story built on this concept, and it's even better on a second or third read. Micah gets the chance to apply the knowledge and skills of his older self to an important period in his youth. One of my favorite parts is the moment where he first takes the alternate path and stops denying his feelings for the love of his life, even though he's unaware this is what's happening, and what the dangerous consequences will be. Another favorite part is the way he deals with his bigoted mother, so clever and funny.

    Parking

Just what I needed to cheer me up on a dreary Saturday. So lovely to see skinny's characters and feel the worry and caring from Gary and Twoey for David. I look forward to a Zander or Andy viewpoint next, it warmed my heart to hear Andy refer to Zander as his husband and smile in quiet pride over his drawing talent. for this gift, Parker.

    Clubs

OK, fair enough. Thanks for answering.

    Clubs

Another club question: Is it possible to be an inactive club member? Just reading but not being seen as a member or posting. I'm thinking of the Pit, of course. I don't want to post there, but I did enjoy checking out the Political Cartoons and a few other topics.
  5. I can now see the story titles. Thanks or getting the bug fixed, @Myr
  6. same on laptop with Google Chrome.
  7. Ohhh, he signed his body and heart away to the King - I hope he was the one 'selling' the house. I'd be happy if I were Bradley.
  8. @BHopper2 for the reviews on this story and my A.I. trilogy. I'm glad you enjoyed reading them.
  9. LOL, yeah, I realized moments after I'd posted the comment. And now I've again over the peeing conversation we had in that blog. But no inspiration for a story.
  10. Thanks, @Renee Stevens I tried to search for Halloween but it didn't give me this topic. Weird.... Oh, right I searched the FORUM pages, not the blog.
  11. Good question. I did a search in the forum, but didn't find anything. @Renee Stevens or @Cia did you make a topic about it?

    Chapter 9

Well, that's a very polite and complimentary way of putting it.
  13. I don't miss the lists, since they didn't make sense in the new GA. I'd prefer to wait for the new system. I can still see the stories I follow (ie has as favorites) under Manage followed content, so it's not like my selection is gone. However, what I miss is getting notifications (mainly for comments) about stories I follow. I've tried going back to some of them and liking the story as well as following, but I very rarely get any notifications about comments and never for chapter comments. Not even on my own stories. I'm aware this is an old bug, but I'm hoping the coming update will deal with it. Otherwise I like the new look. Great work, Myr & Co. PS - I do miss the lists of editors and beta readers. I'd love to have those back.

    Friendly fire

Lisa, this was a wonderful comment to wake up to on a Sunday morning. I'm glad you enjoyed the jokes and approved of the serious stuff. Thank you for reading and commenting.
  15. @R J Drew thank you for the review, it certainly made my day when I saw it.

No, you didn't seem upset, but just in case.

Yes, unfortunately the story didn't shown up in the story list (or notifications it seems) when Cia published it for me when the Household Game stories went live as the Newsletter came out. But I'm glad you found it now, and I hope you liked it. I like EMTs too, we'll have to drool over @LitLover's Nathan together. He, he, I'd feel ignored if you didn't prod me now and then, buddy. But I'll cut down on the teasing, if you want me to.

Thanks, Def, I'm thrilled you loved the story, because I had doubts about my ability to tackle the subject without going overboard either way. It was a challenge, and I awaited the reaction of my readers with trepidation. Every comment so far has made me feel grateful for the kind approval.

LOL, Caz, the chorus of hungry birds keeps growing, but I have to admit after reading the chapter and all the nice comments again, I'm quite eager to find out more too.Hopefully, 'll have time one day to return when inspiration strikes. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Thanks, Brian - and I'm all you liked the hose jokes. They were almost too easy, but what can you expect from a drunk firefighter and a horny fire extinguisher. Sigh, - if I do return to this story I predict it will indeed take several chapters to reach a satisfactory conclusion. Thanks for reading and commenting.

You nailed it, Northie, and I love the word daft. I wanted to tackle the serious topics, but with humor rather than frowns. I'm glad the underlying sadness shone through but didn't distract my readers from enjoying the fun. Thanks for reading and commenting.

LOL, I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. Not only angels and imps but ghosts too. What will be next? I 'blame' @Cia for making me branch out in unexpected ways. I can recommend participating in those writing games, even if they distract me from my other stories. I'm glad you liked the story and want to know more. I'm sure all of you can imagine the future of Dean much better than I could write it, but maybe I'll return one day, As for Bart, well I guess if he can get reincarnated once....

Thank you very much, no author can ask for more. We want to entertain as well as leave an impression, and if the reader also liked reading and leaves a comment, it's perfect.

I've known a couple of people who made that choice, and even though I wasn't close to them, it filled me with such terrible sadness that they saw no other way out. I wanted to make sure no one thought Bart's method was ideal, and I wanted to show his regrets at the pain he'd caused and the possibilities he'd lost. Dean will hopefully learn from Bart and make a different choice.

Aww, thanks, buddy. That's great praise indeed, and I'm pleased you thought the reincarnation was a plausible concept. Picking my way carefully is a good description of how it felt to write this story and the humor was a necessary relief. Thanks for reading and commenting.
