I think the chapter title and note are particularly apt. They are always awesome, and I envy you for your ability to come up with the perfect words. That's why I always focus my reviews on them, and I'm partly surprised, partly grateful other readers rarely mention them. But this time there are so many extra layers in title and chapter note. Let me start with the latter: Tables turned, lessons learned. Tobyn and Kellar set out in the knowledge and hope of being able to turn the tables on the hunter. They had learned important lessons from the encouter with his uncle and from Warren's enconter with him at the garage. However, they forgot to learn from the talk with Sybil and the warning about the hunters' skill with knives. Thus, the hunter was able to turn the tables on them, wounding them badly and holding them at gun point. He ever learnt about the copper protection and if he had been able to pass the knowledge on to other hunters, the tables would have been turned even more. Of course, then the tables turned again, mainly due to Warren, who had learned his lesson well with tracking and shooting. And Kellar and Tobyn got the chance to learn an important lesson: always have back-up plans because once the battle engages, so many things can go wrong. Another lesson was: never get over-confident and cocky. The Reznicks missed out on that one, and it finally came back to rip their evil throats out. About time the tables were turned on those two. But the tables were also turned because Kellar and Tobyn had progressed further in their joining. It enabled Kellar to hear Tobyn's 'Knife' warning, which meant his injury was less than the hunter aimed for. Their healing happened faster, probably both before and after the hunter was shot. Both advantages will come in handy in the future hunt for the sect members. Because that was another important lesson this day: There are more fanatical hunters out there, and they need to get them too. And they know now that their copper protection works but they should still be extremely careful. Always have someone with a rifle ready to take the hunter down, and always have a clean-up crew ready to deal with the aftermath. I thought it was totally cool the way Denver and the other wolves took over. Of course, Warren also learned some important lessons today: one of them being never piss your earth mate off by not telling her what you're going to do. I think it's interesting he is getting the benefits of the early joining step in better hearing, and it's so cool he's already decided to become a shifter. I laughed like mad at the 'naked' jokes, like you said the banter was the perfect tension reliever for them - and us. The Winds of Change - the title reaches beyond this chapter. For Kellar and Warren those winds of change began the day Kellar shifted the first time. For Warren it was a bad change initially, but ultimately he benefits because it lead him here, to his mate and a brother and pack family who loves him and appreciates him. Kellar began the journey towards his destiny as healer and savior, and of course the winds of change blew onece more the moment he met Tobyn. That was also the moment when the winds of change reached the Morningstar pack, and they have been blowing strong ever since. Adelin got saved, they learned the cause and the cure for the malaise, they suddenly have three (four) earth mate pairs and hopes of more, they find out how to protect themselves against the hunter detection method, and most importantly: they are now actively fighting back instead of hiding and covering in fear. Sometimes the best defense is an attack. Let's hope the winds of change will blow for the whole shifter community and against the evil hunters. Of course, the winds of change also applies intimately to Kellar and Tobyn. Their senses got stronger, especially their noses, their emotions went through an upheaval via the joining and the almost-lost battle, they are more closely connected - and Kellar hearing Tobyn's anguished thought is probably just one sign, just as Tobyn seeing the colors was. Another change is how Kellar sees Warren, his brother who saved the life of his mate. It is so great to see the brotherly banter, touching and trust develop between them, enough that Warren is comfortable teasing them back. It was a truly momentous chapter, Gary, and I think the number of near-heart-attacks, chewed nails, and excited shouting in the reviews bear testimony to this.

Good to see Al be nice to Sam. I wonder if they ever talked about it later. Al must have been so envious when Sam ran away and got accepted into Colt's pack.

Wow Guy grew up and he is suddenly aware of what Mick needs. I totally at the vote about who wanted to get into the sexy werewolf's pants. Of course we all do, and the thought of the four of them having fun makes me I'm rather worried about the lack of instruction about meeting the Unseelie King, but hopefully Mick's ability to sense the thoughts and emotions around him will be useful. Not that he should use it on the King, but maybe he has an advisor or courtiers who are plotting against them. Having the Hollow look out for Mick and those he cares about may also be a distinct advantage. I still adore Takashi as giant (scary) kitten, and I think Riley might have fun stringing Zeru along. I hope you'll be able to continue this story soon.

I almost giggled at the warning in the chapter note, especially after having read the reviews and returning to read the chapter again. Your poor editor got the text without any such help, and my laptop nearly expired from a combination of and overheating. I even missed several edits. Says something of the power of distraction in your romantic sex scenes. Anyway, I loved their Shared Determination, Tobyn's to take Kellar inside him and have them make love, and Kellar's to give his mate the best possible joining, including the small trickle of help - and hiding it afterwards to make Tobyn feel justifiable pride in his achievement. I also think Kellar was correct in giving in to the shared determination of their wolves to complete the joining in their way. Seeing the colors together is a sure sign their joining is true and the earth mother rejoiced in their mating. But of course there were other instances of True Colors and determination in this chapter. Warren showed his true worth in wanting to help and worrying about losing Kellar. I think he is determined to protect not only Adelin but the whole pack which has accepted him. It must be a heady feeling for him to be surrounded by approval and having a lovely and devoted girl on his arm. In fact the whole pack shares in the determination to fight back against those hunters and Elinor's wish to send out more wolves isn't only due to worry about Kellar and Tobyn. But the shared determination of the boys and the support of Denver convinced her to go along with their plan. And finally let me return to that emotional moment when Tobyn saw the colors, and Kellar knew someone else experienced his sight and could confirm it to be true. The healer does indeed see True Colors and that confirmation and understanding meant everything to him. He has been lonely and alone in so many ways, but at least he is no longer the only shifter to have experienced this amazing spectacle.

All I can say is if he bought you a (sexist) pink tool set, he deserves to get nothing but socks. I know several Danish women who would have kicked me where it hurts if I'd tried to give them a pink tool set. He's lucky you liked it. My duck came out of a tin, it was very tasty. I'm sure your kids prefered a relaxed mum who had time for them, rather than a stressed cook. Sit down and tell them the best Christmas present you could get is a cup of tea and a cuddle.

I have to be careful while reviewing this chapter, because I've read the subsequent ones and I know how important Ms Sybil's nudges turned out to be - as well as the comments by several reviewers. So I'll focus on the list of Business at Hand, which kept K&T from taking the planned trip to Kellar's cabin to complete the joining. It couldn't be helped, as every item was important: ordering copper chains warning the pack: Elinor does a superb job and it's nice to see it acknowledged reminder to check the kids re pulsing of silver discussing the hunter and his MO: 'know thy enemy' is very important ! discussing the lay of the land and how to spot him or his traps talking to Miss Sybil to test the silver/copper theory The other matter suffusing every part of this chapter is the MO of earth mates: helping each other teasing each other supporting each other needing each other trusting each other The banter of Kellar and Tobyn is fun, especially when Tobyn distracts Kellar completely, but the important aspect is how they are in synch and bounce ideas and thoughts and emotions back and forth in a way which brings them to greater understanding. This earth mate Modus operandi has been missing from all the pack for far too long, and I think Elinor and Sybil are right when they say the Earth Mother has given them Kellar and Tobyn as a final and best effort to break the viscious circle.

Well, there were some good developments here. He connected with one of his students on a personal level and admitted he was beginning to love teaching. He opened up to the old friendship with Bobby and he enjoyed spending time with him. They even made each other laugh ! But then his old demons reared their heads and he backpedaled and panicked. I can understand why he's afraid of having his heart broken, but there is nothing he can do about carrying a torch for Bobby. At least if they are friends and getting along, he may finally be able to confess his love and tell Bobby it helped him through the bad time. Somehow I think that even if Bobby can't love him back in a romantic or sexual way, he will treat his best friend with compassion and care and love.

I was always worried about the rift between Granger and Caroline. I think Daventry has hit the head on the nail, and I was delighted that George saw the truth of it. He is much too sensible and clever to ignore such good advice. I wasn't sure about Daventry at first, but he has proven to be a loyal friend, and I think it's good he isn't the least bit inclined to have sex with Granger. They will be better friends for not getting invilved physically. Granger's posting in the Channel Fleet will hopefully enable him to visit his wife and children at regular intervals, until he has reestalished the bond with Caroline and given her the anchor she needs.

And you gave Mark your virgin post. He loves that. I agree about the hours of enjoyment. for the wonderful Christmas present, Mark. I had to go back a few chapters to get caught up on events, and I noticed chapter 42 was our Christmas present for 2015 and chapter 43 was a New Year's gift. So fingers crossed for a repeat. Wow, I've never seen a tree with so many decorations you can't actually see the branches. At the end of the story I realised it was early morning when Casey tried to creep down, not late at night. What a shame, I was hoping for a hot Christmas romp with Jackson and Vash. But I'm glad the kids are getting all the love and attention they need. I wonder if CE ever told Warren about this experience. And of course he wouldn't tell an adult of his pack what he wanted - if he even knew then.

I like Rosalie, she's clever and kind. It would have done no good to tell those parents what she thought, because they would have resented her and probably Alan and Peter even more for being the 'cause.' At least they didn't say being gay was a sin or something equally stupid, I feared the worst when the church stuff popped up in Rosalie's thoughts.

All read and reviewed, so I can go to bed and dream of various hunky guys.

I think what I loved most about this story was Ryan having noticed how unfairly Blake has been treated by his parents his whole life. I wanted to shake Marilyn and kick her husband's backside. Of course I was also impressed with Ryan for not giving up, and he got the reward he deserves. But I really, really want to see the faces of Blake's parents when they return and the talk of the town is the fantastic paintings of their youngest son. I hope at least a few of their friends are into art or know people who are. It would be the sweetest revenge to have them asking why Blake's parents were not present at the most successful gallery showing of the year. Oh, and of course it will be hilarious to see Marylin's reaction when Ryan comes around to see Blake, and she wrongly assumes he's there to visit her daughter. It would be so cool if Blake outed himself by greeting his boyfriend with a kiss. Especially if Alison is there too, and calmly informs her she knew about Blake all along, and thinks Ryan is the perfect match.

Both men have scars on the inside as well as the outside, but they have rescued each other in the best way. They want the same future and I have no doubt they'll work their way towards happy domestic bliss. Once Coop gets hold of his money they can really get into business. I'm hoping their ranch hands will be men like them who want nothing more than a quiet life. And they may need loyal cowboys to keep Coop's vengeful daddy at bay.

This story shows the danger of assuming and sterotyping. Rory was so busy feeling ignored and self-righteous anger he never noticed poor Clint was shy and tongue-tied and unable to look at him without longing filling his eyes. We know there're good reasons why Rory fears the worst, but I immediately noticed when Benoit said he thought there was somethig else behind Clint's behavior and unhappiness. Once Rory got past the judging and Clint got past his lack of confidence, they sure got on like a truck on fire. I'm glad they managed to come to an understanding and I for one shall warm myself with thoughts of them snuggling up in front of a fire for three days.

I'm thrilled to hear you have more stories planned, and I would certainly like to read Isaish and Avid's story. I hope we also learn what happens when Matthew announces his intention of staying with his markwarden family. About the Danish in my stories I'd like to point out, that you do NOT have to scroll down to read the translations. I always make sure that the content is clear from the context, even if I don't do it by exact translation in the text. The foot notes are only there for those readers who want to know exactly what was said, so they don't have to use Babelfish or Google Translate. So there ! On the other hand I do apologize and for not getting anything written for a long time. Maybe over the holidays - and while you wait, there are all these great Anthology and Christmas stories to read.

It was nice reading this again, Caz, I liked the details you added, they made the story flow even more smoothly. I laughed at Lee and Carl's Dad tapping on the window. Sad about Lee, but if Martin was buying stuff in Lee's name, he was a jerk anyway.

Of course I do: Schmetterling is German for butterfly. A warning about Prophylaxis: there is some really bad stuff half way though the current amount of chapters - but I think you'll love the web site, and that comes a few chapters in.

For a short while I wondered if he had fallen asleep in his chair and had a wonderful dream which would end with his neighbor finding him dead the next morning. But I'm glad it was all real, although I'm not at all fond of surprise parties. At least he now knows who to leave his house to.

Does this mean we will get more Egyptian God stories?
