    Chapter 11

Two good parts here, one with Damien and Harrison having a long talk, confiding and helping each other. Harrison's choice of wife is important since his off-spring will probably inherit the throne one day. The other part is Damien and Kay slowly becoming intimate, beautifully done.

    Chapter 10

Finally, Damien thinks to ask about Kay's past, and his reaction, while scaring the neko, was quite satisfactory. I hope he'll get a chance to hunt those evil guys down personally and exact retribution. Or maybe he can finally find a use for Roman: tell him to find out what is going on and that he has free rein to deal out whatever punishment he sees fit if he finds those men who killed Kay's parents - plus it will earn him a reward too.

    Chapter 9

A cat nap, lol, that was so sweet. I'm glad you have expanded Harrison's figure to make him more than the annoying younger brother. Damien will need one clever and loyal brother to counter Roman's temperamental ways. And very subtle with the drinks episode to illustrate Kay's reaction to Roman.

    Chapter 8

I'm glad I left reviewing until the new version came up, then I get the chance to praise all of these brilliant additions. This one with the king was masterly, showing he was aware of the problem with Roman, and giving us yet more telling interactions with Kay and people around him, eg the captain (Geoff). And why hasn't Damien gotten him some clothes which fit? lol he's not a competent pet owner or master, even if he is kind.

    Chapter 7

I loved the scene with the shaving cream, which is new since the first version. And the interaction with the older neko made a lot of sense too. Beautifully done.
  6. I agree with AC, Gary. Your reviews have a way of expanding a story into something better and more than just fun fiction. You always nail that part of a tale which we can recognize from ourselves.Nelson is getting his hopes up and trying to calm himself by denying the possibility rather than seize the day. It's easy for us (who have had a glimpse into Eric's feelings) to shout "Go for it, Nelson." But waiting to see if Eric comes out does seem prudent right now. And I'm biting my tongue (like Kitt) not to reveal anything...

    Chapter 6

I agree with Nephylim. We needed the sweet warm kitchen scene to balance the horror of the old and current nightmares. I want to shake Damien, why doesn't he talk to Kay and find out what's wrong. But I guess he has very little experience with nekos.

    Chapter 5

This is one of my favorite chapters. The whole search for the Neko who isn't missing was hilarious, and the part where Damien first realizes why Kay is so skittish was very telling. But he still doesn't know the whole truth.
  9. I know, but I'm blaming all of you too, lol. You keep fanning the embers in to a creative fire with all the nice comments. I should have been preparing for a busy week at work and all I'm doing is thinking up things for the Rob chapter.

    Chapter 22

YES, Sacha stood up for himself and cut through all the silly evasions of Nik and stated clearly what he wanted and needed. It was almost perfect except for Nik not being ready for the word boyfriend yet. He should have told Sacha they are boyfriends but not to use the word around his family yet. But I guess asking Sacha to lie to them is not a good idea, so maybe Nik did the right thing. At least, he knows Sacha needs him, truly needs him. That gives me hope.
  11. John, you make me fall over laughing. How about some gay testosterone coming into play?I'm writing on a Rob chapter as we speak - it may have to be a little longer than usual, since Rob has a lot to say and do. LOL
  12. Thanks Jaro, I'm so glad you're enjoying my prompt attempts. Yes, Eric and Nelson might have danced around each other for quite a while yet, if Rob and Co hadn't charged in and blown all caution to bits.If Nelson wants to avoid Jasper's meddling, he should take action. Easy to say if you're not shy, lol.
  13. “Why didn’t you just tell me that?” I shrugged, but Jasper wasn’t about to let go of the subject. He had asked the same question last night, about why I hadn’t told him I was in love with Eric. At the time, I’d brushed him off with a repeat of my conviction that Eric was straight, but this time he suggested that since I was obviously wrong, I had given up too soon. If I had told him, we would have been able to devise a plan together in order to find out whether Eric might be interested in me.
  14. The best laid plans of mice and men, eh?I think Eric would very much like NOT to have anyone 'helping' him invite Nelson out. He's had all the help he can stand for now. The only question is how he'll do it - and whether Nelson beats him to it.
  15. Ooohh, nice Well, Travis seems to have gotten over his shy and hiding stage, and I think Dr. Barron is more than ready for romance, so what's the problem ? But I'd love to see your version of a sequel, even if it's probably a lot more innocent than my images right now.
  16. Hmm I can see I'll have to do a Rob chapter soon. I'll have to go looking for an appropriate prompt. The next chapter is ready to post, and the one after that just hit AC's mail box. I think you'll like both of them.
  17. Difficult one, and other reviewers have said all that needs to be said on the subject. But I'm still trying to figure out who Solcar was in this story: the Marine or the lover of his brother? Both lost what they loved most.

    Reykjavik 930

Even if we know that Solcar will have his heart broken every time, it's interesting to see the different ways it plays out. Sometimes, he gives in to love and in this case he tries to resist, but the outcome remains the same. I have one question though: does Solcar live the full life of whoever he is (so maybe fifty years) or does he only experience the five year cycles? I guess both ways are equally bad, since in the first option he has to live a long life of regret for this particular love and in the other one he gets to love and lose more.
  19. Hmm, so Solcar was supposed to remain aloof from his charges as High Lord of the Milky Way, but he got intrigued by humans? Why do I have the feeling he was caught sneeking down to Earth in human form for small holidays, enjoying the thrill - and maybe breaking a few hearts when he disappeared again. So as punishment he gets to love and be abandoned time and time again. And why do I also get the feeling that Solcar's exile did not achieve what the Council expected... Time will tell, but I'm glad his brother Osclar loves him. Oh and it's hard to rejoice in Tony and Colt finding love when you know what will happen five years down the road.
  20. OMG so Solcar gets five year cycles of love and loss - that means he's been through this one thousand times !! Some punishment, now I really want to know what he did to deserve this. Or is the Council evil?

    Rome 55 BCE

So sad - but it left me wondering: was Solcar the slave in this story, destined to lose love but win his freedom? Only to move on to yet another life of love and loss? I'm sure he must hate the old adage: better to have loved and lost...

    Avalon 2005

So many hints and possibilities in this short prompt. Solcar must be alien from the talk of tears being weird for him and the 5000 years spent in exile. And not only in exile but living lives filled with sorrow, beginning with losing his family as a child. I hope we'll get to read many chapters from the small book.
  23. Well, since both Eric and Nelson are in the drama club what else do you expect? LOLand you know what Nelson is up to, you bad boy, since the next prompt is already written and vetted by you.
  24. It's so sweet the way you all like Rob. I even got a disappointed PM because Rob didn't have a bigger role this time, lol.You have some good points, Gary, and Eric needs to put himself out there to make a bid for Nelson. At least he knows he has several people wishing him luck.
  25. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.Yes, Carlos does have a way of cutting straight to the heart of the matter. And Maria was already on the right track, so Eric didn't stand a chance, lol.
