  1. Yes, helpful but blundering sibs and friends can be quite embarrassing at times. But we forgive them for the good intentions. Thanks, and do write more prompts soon, I enjoy them.
  2. Since I gave up on BtB from the beginning, I guess I'm automatically a founding member of GUOR? But I couldn't care less about her, because Kier got to take Robin home. I bet their night is a lot more romantic and satisfying and hot than what poor Shas has to get through. And Sasha, we want to hear everything about their first morning together: sex, waffles, fruit, dogs, shower, sex, cuddles.... and maybe at some point worried parents trying to locate Robin.
  3. I'm not normally into phone sex, but I have to admit that was hot. But the idea that Kurt knows who Steve is was a nasty surprise - or maybe not.
  4. Thank you for the 'birthday' chapter. I love the story by now even though I had severe doubts when I started to read it and had a hard time relating to and liking the main characters. But I loved Jónas right away and his article was so cool. I'll try to do better about writing reviews from now on.
  5. I was going to retract on the term manipulative in relation to JJ, but now I'm not so sure. But of course he's not in the same league as Zach. Maybe it can be said that JJ manipulates his own behavior to conform to the expectations of Alex and hopes his actions will make Alex like him. Zach manipulates the emotions and opinions of people around him in order to gain an advantage or protect himself. But I guess since I approve of their intentions and goals, I'm fine with their methods. And Zach is telling the truth about his admiration for Will. I guess it's his dismissal of most people as stupid which grates, but at least he likes his coach.
  6. This was a thought provoking story, but it was almost a shame Eric wasn't awake to hear his options. And I want to meet him again, if you ever get inspired.
  7. I can heartily recommend this story. I read the earlier version several years ago on another site, and I've just purchased the e-book (or the first one of them). I stayed up til 2am to finish it. If you like Rob Colton's The Degan Incident, you'll enjoy Taken, which I believe was written before Rob's story (and maybe even inspired him, who knows?). All I can say is, "Dammit, Dale, your life became exciting!"

    Or Colleagues

This was delightful, but left me with so many questions. If they don't know each other why does Nick want to ask him out? Or is that just Ben saying he should? But then he might have told his friend the same. Did he come over to Ben's place? Did they go out on a date? What happened then? How did Nick revenge himself on Ben? Or maybe they both did? This is why I 'hate' prompt stories, I want MORE.

    Prompt 336

This made me laugh. But what on earth was he doing moving furniture by himself ! That's the way to get a bad back. LOL Seriously, it was sweet and I like the use of the prompt in ways other than the obvious.
  10. Thanks. I'm already planning to edit for improvement, lol.Of course I've thought about what will happen afterwards. Maybe one day I'll write that story.
  11. Yep, dialogue is another thing I struggle with, lol. But Eric was formal on purpose for two reasons: with his brother because he was pissed and knows Rob hates it when he goes all high and mighty on him, and with Nelson because he was embarassed. Thanks for spotting the 'met' mistake, I'll correct it asap.
  12. Thanks, I may now be hooked on Comifan's first liners, so other attempts may appear. Glad you enjoyed this one.

    Zugzwang

It was a good ending and I'm glad Paul was determined to pursue his chances with Sam. But I do feel it ended too soon, I wanted to see more of their happy time after sorting out the misunderstandings and declaring their mutual interest (love).

    Cumulonimbus

Mark may have done this at the spur of the moment and in the wrong way and at the wrong time. But in fact their talk did bring closure to the relationship and cleared the air between them, just like the day after a storm is often sunny. You can see the damage and start to get rid of the debris and repair things. Now Sam needs to talk to Paul and tell him what happened.

    Burnt Dreams

Ha, I'm glad I'm reading this after all four parts of the story have been written. Poor Paul. After being so patient for ages and finally getting up his hope for more, the romantic dinner surprise is spoiled by Mark appearing out of nowhere. I van understand why his twin sister in annoyed and worried, but I'm glad he did object when she crossed the line. I hope it wasn't Sam calling at the end, since I'm not sure she would be ready to listen to explanations and apologies, lol.

    Chapter 1

You scared me with this story. The horror of coming home to a half-empty house. The heavy drinking and ignoring everybody - and where are the friends and family who should turn up when they don't hear from him ? The ignoring of what has happened and immersing himself in work, trying to bury his grief. Finally facing his loss and having to come to terms with the fact that they were not right for each other. So sad, so scary. Even cookies and a handsome flirty guy with blue-green eyes at the end won't dispel the sadness you made me feel. But at least I can go on to the next story and hope it's happier.
  17. I guess I can understand the father here. After all, if you can't be trusted, what comes next? It wasn't as if it was an unreasonable demand or a new rule. The punishments, while harsh, probably hurt less than the realization that he had lost something precious: his dad's trust. If you learn that inconsiderate acts have consequences, you're more likely to think again next time. And his point about his son not trusting him either hit a nerve too. I bet he had spent time wondering where he'd gone wrong that his son wouldn't come out to him.
  18. Thanks Irri! You guys know me too well, stilted language is another of my weak spots. But it's good to be reminded. And I'm glad you liked it even so.
  19. Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And you put your finger right on my sore spot: the tendency to keep adding details. I'll try to be less verbose in future prompt stories.
  20. “I can’t believe you asked him that!“ My best friend Jasper looked annoyed when I laughed. “You know my policy: ask me a bigoted question, and I’ll do my best to insult you back.” The funny thing was I had the feeling the guy hadn’t meant to be offensive. And for other reasons I didn’t want to be harsh on him. But if he was too stupid to know that ‘fag’ was a bad word, he deserved what he got. Especially since he’d come up to me out of the blue and asked: “So, Nelson, are you a fag?” Jasper an
  21. Short stories are definitely not my strong suit, and this attempt soon became a continuous story inspired by the challenge of First Line prompts. Constructive criticism and kind encouragement are more than welcome.
  22. I can think of one conversation which would prompt this reaction: Andre: "Would you go out with me, Max?" Max: "Don't tease, I know you're straight." Andre: "What if I told you, I've been lying to you all these years, and I'm gay and in love with you?" beer
  23. Oh Miles, you are a naughty boy, getting it on with two guys at the same time. You had better choose between them soon or risk breaking Jay's heart. He and we won't forgive you that !

    Chapter 23

I like the focus on getting fresh water, because it shows a nice awareness of what can improve the life on board the ship for the crew. And of course in this instance it also brought several interesting and fun events to pass and built up suspense for the next chapter. Oh, and I may be a bit bad, but I love it when Granger snubs or exposes stupid people.
  25. Having to pay such a high price for silencing a telepath seems appropriate, but I wonder if maybe some of it was due to the fact that the guys were so heavily sedated and secluded. In any case I'm glad Abel found a way to make them feel better. And he might want to experiment with his ability to manipulate the body's ability to degrade alcohol, so that his subjects don't go from wasted to sober, but are just dialled back to pleasently drunk. Then he can use it on unknowing subjects without raising suspicion. And on willing subjects without killing their mood, lol.
