I liked this story for a lot of things, but two of them stood out: That you didn't fall for the temptation to have the friendship love turn into romantic love. I think you always fall a bit in love with your first - and John was Artie's first because he was the one to make him realize he was gay. But it was much better for them to settle into the bromance category. And that you let the girl be someome who (in spite of being a bitch) loved John - and forgave him for hiding an even worse secret than a one night stand with his best friend: the fact he was sterile. Although this part of the story did seem somewhat contrived. It's something I've never understood about women - that they get so possessive and try to keep their boyfriends / men from being with their buddies or enjoying sport or other harmless pasttimes. After all, lots of women like to be with their female friends and go shopping etc. To me doing things apart helps keep a relationship healthy.

I think what I loved most about this chapter (apart from the fact that there was a next chapter at all ) was the reaction Hutch had to Corbin throwing a fit. Hopefully he and the other frat brothers will now finally wake up to the fact that they have been less than supportive. Corbin has lots of issues and makes mistakes, but he always does his best to increase the social standing of his house. And even though I find the whole social climbing utterly absurd, the loyalty Corbin has to his frat is admirable. Can't wait to read the next bit with Mike, I like that guy. Hope he doesn't end up too heart broken. I'm not sure what's worst: Being a gay guy in love with a guy in the closet or being a guy trapped in the closet made by society being in love with a gay guy (who is out).

I agree with Carrie and I cannot believe Corbin did not see the possibility of David lying about Lee because he's into Corbin and wants to pull him away from Lee. But I guess that's what happens when you kill too many brain cells with alcohol And why Corbin didn't see that Dakota is Pete's Amanda is an even bigger mystery.

Coming back to read this story again, I'm reminded how almost the only thing I don't like is all the drinking which goes on. All the rest is awesome.

I'm sorry I missed this thread in time, but better late than never. Et forsinket tillykke med fødselsdagen, Thorn From your fellow Scandinavian

Tillykke med fødselsdagen I guess you know what the above means And just think - it'll be your birthday for a while in Europe and US so congratulations will keep trickling in while you sleep.

Tillykke med fødseldagen from your Danish fan (or one of them)

I'd never have guessed. I admit I did consider him but only as I was going though all the alternatives after reading the previous chapter. Apart from fitting the criteria of being one of the older established players, which I felt was important, I rejected the idea. So well done Graeme about keeping us in the dark Oh and his poor girlfriend, but kudos to Deon for knowing what to do. Can't wait to see how the sequel develops. Everything certainly ended on a positive note, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of drama you'll get up to next. Abd of course I'm hoping we get to see what happens behind that closed door Ty demanded

I sooo wanted to strangle Tyler or hit him over the head. Grrr what an offensive jerk was my first impression. But guess what, he slowly grew on me and by the end I was actually cheering for him and Parker to become boyfriends. You're apparently able to work miracles Because I usually hate it when people are stupid or embarrassing and not in control of themselves. So getting me to actually like Tyler is bloody brilliant writing.

This is my second time around reading the first two parts of Rhino and Mouse, and I don't know what to say. It's such an amazing story, sad and funny at the same time. Jesse is almost annoying, but he's also heartbreakingly sweet and vulnerable. Dom may be called simple but it's actually in a very good way. He's so honest and clean and caring that I'm just speechless. I loved the way he refused to do anything with Jesse when he was high, and yet he never denied him comfort or love. But Dom has firm principles and I respect that utterly. Also the way he always tries to do right by Jesse and never gives up on him. The part where he almost moved out was gutwrenching. So keep writing, you have a special style which I admire - even if at times it is hard to keep up with who says what. Oh and I suck at writing dialogue, so I'm totally in awe of an author who can tell most of the story via dialogue.

HUGE contented sigh. Even if I'll miss them while we wait for the sequel, I'm glad you left Kurt and Tay in a good place about themselves, their pack and their future. It will be interesting to see who gets together with whom as the pack grows. I think Isla and Henry may be a bit too obvious as a couple, and I'd like Henry to get a mate soon. Isla is just too young and she needs to have fun as a teenager before settling down. Think of all the boys coming camping and her twisting them round her little finger - in a kind way of course. Isla could never be mean.

Wow, now I'm even more confused about who it is. Unless Tony is being particularly sneaky and it's Paul after all. But somehow I don't think so. I thought he meant to get Pride Radio to sponsor, but I guess they'll just make the appeal and be the ones to rally the gay community to send in money. An audacious and clever plan. Can't wait to see the outcome. Wonderful chat Deon had with his mom, but I wish he'd be honest with his younger brother. He's starting to ge on my nerves too

Tillykke med fødselsdagen Sasha. If I had a flagpole, I'd run up Dannebrog for you. Hope you have a nice day Tim

Several European countries had legalized gay civil unions 10-15 years before the turn of the century. OK it wasn't marriage (in the strict sense of the word) and you couldn't get it done in a church, but it gave you all the legal rights. I'm fairly sure gay marriage would have been introduced in these countries at the same time as Holland / Belgium, if there wasn't already an option. But I still get those moments you mention

You know, sometimes we forget to credit Degan for being such an awesome leader. He really is the ideal Alpha, wholly concerned with what's good for his pack, even those members who are about to leave and form their own group. I suppose it's because he's a clever person as a human too, like a masterful CEO knowing the strengths and weaknesses of his staff and bringing out the best in them. He made the necessary process of creating a splinter pack as little disruptive as possible and set an example for everyone in how to treat wolves and humans right. I have a feeling that some time later Aliza and Deo may decide to join the new pack, but for now they'll probably be better off where they are. Deo at least needs the stability of a large settled pack, and Aliza is still to independent and strong to submi to teenage Alphas. David's choice to jon was logical and probably better for the old pack too. It's makes the tragedy of Mary dying less acutely felt and they need to settle back into routine. Beautiful chapter in every detail, Sasha.

Is Frank aware that Zach is gay and in a relationship with Will? If not that would be a good reason not to have him at this meeting with Barry. If Zach didn't tell Frank about the extra meeting, he'd probably not be aware that it was happening. I bet Wally doesn't know But perhaps everyone at Escorial know about Zach and Will ?

Oh well they got most of the problems sorted. But Mikeal forgot to tell his dad whether he wanted him to tell his mum and sister that he's gay. I hope his dad does pass the news, that way any bad reactions can be dealt with before Mikeal returns home. And I can certainly understand why he wants to stay with Adam right now. He's never put himself first before, so good for him - and good for his mother too.
-
Thank you Mark. I've been hoping for Zach and Will to have this talk. Having them admit that they love each other and want to make it work, made this chapter the best one so far. I'll go to bed with a huge grin on my face.

I get the feeling that sparks are gonna fly when Alpha Miller meets Zef Loved the locker room comment from Parker.

When I read this story, and especially the end, I thought that one reason for Lucas to decide to stay in the dream world was the fact that his dad never let him have anything like that in his own life. He never listened to Lucas or helped him see a way to let out his creative talent IRL. So the temptation to live in his mind is just too great. And who are we to say it's not better for Lucas - as well as being a punishment almost deserved by his dad. Though maybe once he's helped the magic boys long enough, made the dream world permanent enough, he'll sit up inside his dream with the sound of his dad's voice in his ear, telling him he loves him and cares and wants him back. Somehow I hope so.

Zach says: “They were there, and I was feeling a lot of pressure, so that’s when I called you. I stepped outside and called you.” But it was Will who called Zach at the end of ch 12, as instructed by the limo driver. And Zach was the one who arranged that pick-up, so did he do that during the meeting with the agent ? Because in this chapter it sounds like he dumped Will while he was still at the airport with his parents and the agent. With the awesome team you have, as well as your own attention to detail, it's not often we can catch you in an inconsistency. So maybe there's something else going on?

That was fun. You had me utterly convinced that Edward was a ghost. Everything fit - and then you turned it upside down. Wouldm't mind reading a sequel.

Ohhh yeah wolf sex, then skin on skin loving in the forest. Soo hot, sweet and mind blowing. And I have the feeling both the main pack and the splinter pack will be flooded with happy vibes from Tahryn and Kurt getting to know each other all over again, and this time with no division between their human and wolf sides. And I guess it's needed what with the tragedy of Mary dying and the shock of another wolf born baby. Oh and there's the visit of the gamma from the regional pack too. So many things to resolve still, even if the main issue has been dealt with. But the sighs of relief from both werewolves and readers are huge - in case you're wondering where the breeze around your ears comes from

I think Wally made a big mistake trying to control Zach's career. But I guess that was the only thing left after Zach had made it clear that he would work out a way to have Will in his life. Football is the main focus of Zach's life right now, and he's just been firm to the boy he loves about not messing with that. So awesome to see him give his parents the same message, even if they probably don't get it. And perfect that JP was there as an impartial witness.

You're setting this up to be a long and interesting story. So I'm guessing the Completed tag is a mistake I love cops with good instincts, quick reflexes, and clever ideas.
