what time is it at at your place and what you'd probably be doing
Kitt replied to AceKebabs's topic in The Lounge
7:30 am Sunday morning and in a holding pattern for a horse show. Who decided these things start your day at 5 am or earlier to sit around staring at your horse munching hay in a trailer for 3 hours while someone gets their act together? -
Map: Six Decades of the Most Popular Names for Girls By State
Kitt replied to methodwriter85's topic in The Lounge
I can remember a friend in the early 80's trying to decide on a boys name around her 3rd month of the pregnancy. She started with Aiden, a name she liked the ring to - and put every letter in front of it in various combos... Baiden, Braiden, Caiden, Craiden etc. There were some pretty out there names on her list. I will not tell you what she named the boy in the end - but the poor kid was in court and changed it to John as soon following his 18th birthday as he could manage. Guess what I am saying is think twice before saddling a child with an extremely unusual name that might bring him/her a whopper load of teasing. -
That's what you get for posting a bare chested picture you crazy elf!

I can see where all the hate filled comments on the topic that accompanied the video posting would upset people. I don't however think assigning all the hate to "rednecks" is particularly any more productive than the twits that proclaim the gay population "deserving" of any ill that befalls them. Before you go labeling people redneck - or any other label for that matter, go look it up. There are two schools of thought on where the term redneck came from. Mildly offensive term for a lower class white person from the southeastern states of the USA. Derives from someone who spent a lot of time on manual labour outside and so received a "red neck" from the sun It was also used to refer to coal miners who wore red bandana's to signify their belonging to a union. While both groups have in the past had people who would be outspoken about their own prejudices, not all are hateful uneducated twats. Lets not be like the hateful idiots and malign a group of people who make it possible for white collar workers to heatand/or light their homes and fill their pantries.

OK - stupid straight woman questions here. I get that some people just have issues with being male but thinking and feeling female or vice versa, and some eventually go on to correct what they deem a mistake medically and surgically, but other than the unfortunate ones with the genetic screw ups, aren't male and female about the only choices you actually have? Gender-queers and transsexuals still end up being one or the other. There may be a grey area there during a transsexuals journey, but maybe we should leave that bit for a different discussion. I know a lot of women ( straight and bi ) who would love to explain this to you Carlos. I know "straight acting" applies primarily to the male gay community, i mean a lesbian acting "straight" never seems to attract attention, even after coming out. Why then does some gay guy catch shit for "acting straight"?

LOL!!! Do you really think Mark is going to tell us that??? We will just have to bide our time and keep reading Carlos!

Russian meteor shower causes blast; hundreds injured
Kitt replied to JamesSavik's topic in The Lounge
And then if it doesn't work you are already buried. Honestly, let's think past the available technology for a minute. Suppose all these ideas about detection and tracking are fast tracked and put into implementation. Suppose further a defense system is also devised. The impact of these pieces of "space junk" as someone called it has been reported in terms of equivalent to nuclear explosions. An intentional detonation would be exponentially greater would it not? Just who in this totally screwed up world do we trust with their finger on the trigger? And then there is the question of what happens after all this energy is released in space. Does anyone have a clue? One said "no risk of nuclear fall out". Well - that crap has to go somewhere. Does any scientific agency have a clue where it would radiate to or what the impact would be? -
I can't wait to see where the former Mrs Dansfield takes her anger not only at having been written out of the will but at the illegitimate heir being written in! I'm sure he will be visiting at Escorial in the not too distant future. That should be, in the words of an old comedy show, "verrrrrrry interesting!"
-
Oh my, you do like to drive us crazy trying to figure out what is next! Didn't surprise me at all that the Senator had changed his will so quickly. Were I he, I would have had the new terms on paper ready to have signed and witnessed right after the divorce decree was officially legal. Needless to say I wouldn't trust the former Mrs Dansfield any further than I could throw the gateposts from Goodwell! Ethan huh? This is going to get interesting I think! I can fill a list with the new questions his existance gives birth to, but you are not very cooperative in giving us hints! I may just start a notebook for all my questions and fill in the answers as you deem to dole them out. Thank you for another emotion filled chapter.

Darned that real life thing getting in the way of what we really want to do. We'll all be here when you come back! Thanks for the warning too. It always frustrates me when a favorite author disappears.

Now now gents...had you all partaken of the appropriate diet like i wrote about all that shambling and moaning you are doing would be a non issue!

LOL! I have to admit - the same thought occurred to me as Carlos. I am seeing Kylie at the "new" channel 13. Now, to sit back and see who is cold blooded enough to plan attacks on the boys like that! For the life of me I don't remember anyone other than TJ's dad who considered the ranch and the boys that much of a threat. The attack on Spin was a spur of the moment thing - they couldn't have known he would cut across the football field, so ...Someone at the school?

11:30 am and 2 hours into a 6 hour wait while hubby has some testing done. SOMEONE come into chat and keep me company! -
Perhaps finding an organization to volunteer for to provide a routine and a sense of accomplishment would help? And you can always drop into my pm if you want to talk to someone. Feel better!

Gotta hit the Baltimore Aquarium!

Somehow I see Stef more into the trendy shops along the main drag in Princeton. The malls I think he would find awfully ...tacky? I just picture him more the individual attention from a shop keeper type rather than an off the rack sort of guy.

Did you e-mail files to the one you were working on the story with? Try going back thru your sent mail files - I was able to retreive all the files a crash lost thru the e-mail archives. Learned my lesson too - I now have everything i work on backed up on two different thumb drives and on a cloud drive!

Washington power plays never take a rest do they? I loved the way Momma Dansfield got shut down! Mount Elizabitch is boiling and building pressure, and I am wondering when she's gonna blow! I really think Brad's talk with JP will be helpful in getting his head on straight. Brad has a long way to go, but he is starting to see the entire relationship he had with Robbie more clearly, and that's a huge step for him. Was almost sureal to have the Crampton/Shulters hanging out in my old stomping grounds. Somehow I have trouble seeing Stef shopping in New Brunswick tho. Rodeo Drive it ain't! You continue to portray the emotions so well I find myself needing to remember that these are fictional characters. Thanks for yet another great chapter.

Will probably be a spate of Edwards and Jacobs in the next few years as well.
-
Thank you guys - it was quiet and uneventful, which IS amazing in my life recently!

What about Tony Carbone and his sister, technically unrelated but the off spring of one of JP's ex's? Should Tony not be included? He played a fairly large part in Wills life for almost a year before he totally screwed that up, and while we haven't seen much of him since the float trip in July I get the feeling we will be seeing more of him in the future. Also reading back over the entirety of this thread, there was another cause of "slutty behavior" everyone seems to have over looked among the royalty you all discussed. Often marriages were arranged for political purposes throughout history. One might not find one's spouse particularly appealing. Back stairs relationships abounded.

Intriguing start. I love when a story hooks me with unanswered questions right at the start. Why the dad suddenly wants to spend time with the boy? Why does mom agree? Why is a teenage boy not consulted in the decision? Is there underlying discipline problems we don't know about yet? I could probably go on and on. Instead I will keep reading and see what answers you chose to give us!

Alright Back to Writing: Chapter 2 is now live
Kitt commented on W_L's blog entry in Life is worth an entry
I know that I am a couple chapters ahead of the rest of you, but W_L is right - all this background he is currently building will be necessary for those of us who had no understanding of eastern cultures before beginning this story. And I don't care if he is a dead 18 yr old frat boy with issues! Patrick is still my favorite character! I would love having someone like him as a friend. -
LOL! Now how did I know Sasha would appreciate that?
