'twas a dark and stormy night, and the Captain of the sailing barge said to his Mate, "pull up a chair and I'll tell you a story." So the Mate pulled up a chair, and the Captain began: "'twas a dark and stormy night ...." There's nothing wrong with old chestnuts. Besides, Sam's second sentence starts with 'The wind'. Storms have wind, don't they?

Sorry CJ, but this did nothing for me. I hate 2nd person, and find it very hard to read. It always seems stilted, archaic, and reminds me of school .... Camy.

Silliness is endemic in these parts, and rightly so ... but it would be much easier to be silly in the right place, if the forum were split into story sections. Also, if you were new to CJ's writing, it would be easier to find what you were looking for. Camy

Tequila does that to me, too! Though I'm far too much of a wuss to eat the worm. Yelch. And a most interesting bit of Scar exposition! I think I've seen a subtle bit of foreshadowing, too ... though it might not be. Hmm. All in all an excellent chapter! Merci, CJ!

Like Bondwriter I was hoping your's was for schoolwork! Camy Scored an A! WOOT!!!! You got 10/10 questions correct. It's pretty obvious that you don't make basic grammatical errors. If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs. How right they are. As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human. And it's humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes. Yes. Humanity baffles me. Especially when they know nothing about use of contractions. So Yay! I got an A too! Now for a quiz on overuse of exclamation marks ....

I'm so envious of Sam's Dragonfly! I've wanted one forever, but haven't got around to the actual buying of the thing. Bad luck on the carpal tunnel ... though it seems a bit too convenient (from the doctors point of view) for you to get it just after a surgery on your hand. If you can, you should get a second opinion. Much looking forward to your anthology story. Camy

The only problem - and it's a BIG one - is that I can't read chapter 6 immediately! Followed, naturally enough, by all the others to the end... Hmm. Have I mentioned how much I love Goats? Adore them, though not to the point where I'd teach Tarantulas. I thought the mention of what has 'Bourbon' - 'One of my faves was about a dirt-bike rider, a typical jock who just happened to be gay.' was great! More, more and MORE! Camy
