Forgive the pun but suitably impressed by my suit consultation today. Getting a nice light charcoal in a wool/silk blend. Gentleman took several measurements and I left feeling confident that when the suit arrives in a week or so there won't be that much "fine tuning" to do for it to fit perfectly. And the total cost is going to be less than I expected, so that's a bonus!

Spring in Oklahoma near the peak of storm season -- its a crap weather couple of weeks. Several storms last week and several more possible this week.

My first boss where I currently work -- on my 1yr anniversary -- gave me a small plaque that read, "Wait a moment. I have to put on my, "Gosh I Really Care" face. I still have it hanging in my office (along with quotes from Nietzsche, Jung, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama).

I'm going to need it faster than I expected or wanted -- I have an Aunt who had a major stroke a few days ago. They're moving her back to a nursing home near the facility she used to live in for hospice care. 😢

Well, "Starving Artist" is a tired trope so...... Very happy for you on the new job. And I'm sure we'll understand if the chapters take longer to get out, regardless of how disappointing that may be.

2" of rain yesterday but we missed the severe stuff yesterday; unfortunately, 1 of the 10 tornadoes in the state yesterday caused a death & there was a death due to flooding. Storms later this afternoon for here should just be high wind with the possibility of hail. And then another chance of severe weather tomorrow. How I love spring.

At the moment looks like the worst of it will go to the south of us. We should (knock on wood) only get heavy rain, lots of lightning and light hail. Some areas in the state have already had over 4" since this morning. You definitely want to go with a reputable dealing when looking for storm shelters. The best ones will withstand an EF5 if installed correctly.

I want to get an above-ground storm shelter in my garage, but need to shift some structure about 1st (not to mention find $$).

The joy of Spring -- it's an "Active Weather Day"; been at least 5 tornado warnings so far and that was before noon. Things are ramping back up for round two. Going to be a long long night. News station I'm watching just lost power is had to change to back-up power.

Found a menswear store in this town that can actually do decent tailoring (or so I've been told). Going in for a fitting on Friday after work. I need a new suit, and my body frame is too oddly proportioned to even consider just wearing a suit off the rack -- especially the jacket. Un-tailored, a suit jacket that fits my shoulders is way to baggy around my chest; and my waist (narrow) and leg length (long) is a nearly impossible size to find even in normal dress slacks. Hoping they are as good as I've been told they are. I hate shopping for clothing.

My Gay Community

For me "gay community" is more of an abstract idea than a physical group of clubs and gatherings. That could be because, even though this is a college town, it's still a smaller town in a very conservative state and there is no real "physical" community in this town - no place that could truly be called a "safe place" to be out an open. Even in the largest city in this state, with what has been called "the Southwest's largest gay resort" that place is fenced off and has armed security patrolling it's perimeter 24/7 to keep those there to enjoy themselves safe. -
One step at a time is all you can do -- and even when you slide backwards some, you'll still make your way slowly forward.

This! Sooooo soooooo this. Logic, numbers... fine. Interacting with other people like a normal human.... not so much. I've thought recently that I'm probably somewhere on the autism spectrum.

Glad you're feeling better. I stayed home from work today. Hate the phrase but, "mental health day" -- too much stress at work, not enough self-care when I get home. Need to meditate more.
