    I want to get an above-ground storm shelter in my garage, but need to shift some structure about 1st (not to mention find $$).

    The joy of Spring -- it's an "Active Weather Day"; been at least 5 tornado warnings so far and that was before noon. Things are ramping back up for round two. Going to be a long long night. News station I'm watching just lost power is had to change to back-up power.

    Found a menswear store in this town that can actually do decent tailoring (or so I've been told). Going in for a fitting on Friday after work. I need a new suit, and my body frame is too oddly proportioned to even consider just wearing a suit off the rack -- especially the jacket. Un-tailored, a suit jacket that fits my shoulders is way to baggy around my chest; and my waist (narrow) and leg length (long) is a nearly impossible size to find even in normal dress slacks. Hoping they are as good as I've been told they are. I hate shopping for clothing.

    For me "gay community" is more of an abstract idea than a physical group of clubs and gatherings. That could be because, even though this is a college town, it's still a smaller town in a very conservative state and there is no real "physical" community in this town - no place that could truly be called a "safe place" to be out an open. Even in the largest city in this state, with what has been called "the Southwest's largest gay resort" that place is fenced off and has armed security patrolling it's perimeter 24/7 to keep those there to enjoy themselves safe.

    Glad you're feeling better. I stayed home from work today. Hate the phrase but, "mental health day" -- too much stress at work, not enough self-care when I get home. Need to meditate more.

    Which is their slogan -- I've had to stop drinking anything with caffeine as it reacts with my blood pressure Rx and causes my pulse to jump by 20+ bpm. And I love coffee. 😞

    Tea has both theobromine and caffeine - on average, 26mg per 8oz; more in dark black tea. Coffee has, on average, 95mg per 8oz. Chocolate also contains both theobromine and caffeine. And be careful which brand of rootbeer you get as some of those also have caffine added in (looking at you Barq's)

    I get that -- my "neutral" expression has been described as "cold" [in fact, the nick-name I had in college - that I wasn't supposed to know I had - was the Ice Queen]. I can come across as uninterested even when I'm enjoying myself; and if my joints are acting up and my pain level is high, I've had to apologize a couple of time when someone thought I was about to snap at them or was otherwise pissed at them for something.

    Unfortunately, we put too much power in labels -- a general human failing, that causes way too many problems. 🤔

    Wonderful story, that handles some difficult topics with a delicate touch. Heartwarming ending and well worth the reading.

    Wonderful place to end the story. Nate's description of, "You're the part of my soul born in another body" -- I've always kind of thought they were each other's split-apart. Thank you for such a wonderful story.💖

    Makes me wonder if the pen-pal could end up being the person (or one of the persons) behind the event that made his mom tell him to scream and rant. 🤔

    Can be a difficult story to read in parts, but it's beautiful and enchanting in the end.

    Love the chapter. Insight into how Aidan feels about his job feels right, but hopefully Stone can show him there's more to life than working your [quite lovely] ass off in a job you don't really like.

    I buy a lot of books for new faculty members, and this one is the best title I've seen in ages: From a Broken Bottle Traces of Perfume Still Emanate I know nothing about this book and want to read it based on that title alone.
