This was a difficult chapter to read, but only because the writing was so good. Willy saw a vulnerable young man he could prey upon and poor Rick had to suffer the consequences. Something tells me he's not done with Cedarcrest. There are some serious ghosts that need exorcising. Well done, Parker.

Jamie needs to listen to Ali and have an actual conversation instead of flying off the handle and making assumptions. Hopefully what he reads in Ali's letter will keep him from keeping the date with the hot bartender. I'm going to guess the PI was employed by Ali's father and created false documents to keep Ali from looking any further.

I prefer shorter chapters, up to about 4k. I will make an exception for well-written longer chapters, though.

GAH! I should wait till this story is complete to read it because I want more more more! But of course, I wont, because I want more more more Well, at least now they're finally talking, even if Jamie is still hiding his true identity. I have no idea if Ali's father is telling the truth about getting the letters from Jamie's father. Somehow, I don't believe it since I don't trust a word that man says. I'm going to guess Ali's father had Jamie's father transferred to get rid of him, and used the move as cover to tell Ali that Jamie is dead. Well at least they've found each other now and can hopefully move past it once the truth has been exposed.

It's clear his friends found out about their relationship and didn't approve so sabotaged it. Hopefully they can both talk about what happened and clear the air. They're obviously meant for each other. Great chapter!

It's a beautiful day here. Partly cloudy and in the low 70s. Absolutely perfect I got up early and went grocery shopping. Apparently the new thing to hoard is canned pumpkin, as there was none to be found. I was hoping to make a low carb pumpkin crumb cake this weekend. Guess I'll have to try a different store. I bought a bunch of fall veggies to make butternut squash soup. I still don't have a return to work date, but at least it sounds like things are moving forward. My agency is slowly reopening, with the last site starting a phased reopening on Tues. I think it will be a while yet before there's enough work to bring me back. In the meantime, I'll continue organizing stuff in the house and it's almost time to decorate for Fall
