    Given a Chance

This really got to me. It's quite easy to get stuck in complacency and the status quo. Taking a step outside that box can be quite a daunting task, but it's nice to see Eric taking that chance, especially at his age. I like stories that make me think and this one is doing just that. The elderly are so often overlooked and face cuts when they're already living on the bare minimum. It doesn't seem right. Well done, Northie. I look forward to when the two men meet.
  2. When I looked at the list of old anthology themes for the special anthology a couple of years ago, this theme immediately spoke to me. I will definitely check these out. I love a good fairy tale! Great choice for a feature.

    Sad Experiments

I like this form. I'll have to keep it in mind for NaPoWriMo in April. These are all very good. They are reminiscent of old poetic masters, and dare I say, have a Shakespearean feel. You've captured feelings I've been experiencing to a certain extent lately. It's the January blahs, I think (for me, anyway). So I find them quite relatable.
  4. I'm sorry you had to go through the battle, but am glad you are a survivor. Thank you for reading and commenting.

I'm glad you stuck with it and gave it another shot. Thank you for your kind words.

    Chapter 24

Thank you so much. Yes, Galen is finally making some progress. Pushing him would not go well... he's a bit stubborn that way Josh has a lot on his plate right now, that's for sure. Thanks for the comment!

    The Invitation

Maybe Mic can give Doug a kilt for his birthday next year... or as an anniversary present Cute story. I loved your take on the prompt.
  11. It sounds like you have a lot of good things on the horizon. I look forward to reading your new work, especially the antho stories.

    Chapter 24

Joshua I yawned, and resisted the urge to stretch because I didn’t want to disturb the beautiful man curled up against my side. I set my book down on the nightstand, but hesitated to turn off the light. Galen was sleeping; his chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm that had a hypnotizing effect. Even though he had spent every night for the past two weeks in my bed, it still felt new to me—and very, very right. I watched him for a minute, then moved to turn the knob on the lamp next to m

    Thank you so much
  14. I actually managed to find some time to tackle a GA prompt I love Challenge prompts, so the emotion describing challenge really spoke to me. Here's is my take on it: https://www.gayauthors.org/story/valkyrie/promptingsfromvalhalla/21

    Chapter 12

Poor Kohen. I'm also wondering how much of his memories are real or if they were part of a "Matrix" type experiment to control him. Lakshou's reaction stood out to me. He backed away... was that because of the intensity of Kohen's emotions or something else? And the captain seems pretty sure that Kohen won't hurt him. I'm guessing he knows more than we currently realize. I'm loving this story. I should probably let a few chapters build up, but I don't think I can stop reading this little snackerls every week
  20. This was very difficult for me to write, even though the words flowed pretty smoothly. I wanted to convey how even the very environment around us can seem against us when we receive devastating news. Your comment shows me that it worked. Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.
  21. Thanks for reading. Sorry about your parents. Cancer sucks.
  22. Thanks I needed a tissues myself when I wrote it.
  23. Prompt 637 – Challenge Tag – Emotion No one enjoys dealing with the sad emotions. A breakup, a death, or even a serious illness can put a character through hell. Create a scene where your character is given some bad news and what happens when they are alone and process it. Remember to show and not tell. Bring the anguish alive for the reader. A loud, blaring horn, followed by the screech of tires, made me realize I’d just driven through an intersection with four-way stop signs.
  24. Wow... so many stories from a nice variety of authors. I know I've read Viv's, and highly recommend all her stories. I'll have to check the rest out if I ever get time to read.
  25. Happy New Year, Myr and crew! (and all on GA )
