When I was a kid, we drove by the portion of the Niagara River that has the rapids. I thought my parents were saying 'rabbits' and had no idea why rabbits would cause the water to look like that. I still think of rabbits whenever I hear people talk about rapids. lol

Teddy's back! It will be interesting to see what they learn from Anna and about her and her people. I wonder if Wildman will tell them anything.

I was a little confused at the beginning, but it makes more sense knowing that it's a different person. I can't imagine that the churchgoers would mind Stefan's actions. The ending was a beautiful way to show God's presence. I wonder what's next for him.

I used to go on vacation with a friend of mine whose boss called her several times a day every day. It drove me nuts because I firmly believe in keeping work and vacation separate! I especially enjoyed this since I didn't take any vacation myself this summer, but am on vacation now

I initially found the reaction of the school staff and the principal to be implausible, but realized that there are people out there who get it in their head that they don't like someone and will willfully turn a blind eye. That being said, we have the benefit of knowing what happened to Stefan, so it seems obvious to us. His bruises and behavior should raise red flags to anyone who cares enough to listen. Like I mentioned in a previous review, I've experienced the indifference of those who are supposed to protect us, so I suppose I can relate in some small way. As mandated reporters, though, those teachers aren't doing their job. I was also taken aback by the callous attitude of the detective. What a way to tell someone their parent was murdered. Even if he did suspect Stefan, he's a jerk for acting so callous and bored towards him. I wonder what's up with the jock (I'm drawing a blank on his name) and his problem with Stefan. Anyway, I'm glad that Stefan is finally free of his father, but I'm worried about him being on the street and on the run. I can't wait to see where you take this next.

Yikes. Well, sneaking away like that was bound not to be easy. I have a feeling leaving the money was a test that poor Ryan failed miserably. I hate to see what's in store for him. You've captured the creepy vibe perfectly. I don't blame Ryan for wanting to run. Nothing good is going to come from staying at that house, that I'm sure of.

Wow, 50 chapters already! We're slowly starting to get some answers. I'm glad they're rescued. Maybe the medic will have some answers about how to help Teddy out of his state.

Wow. I had no idea how you were going to get them out of their predicament. Very nicely done. I really enjoyed this story and am so glad they got their HEA.

I was on tenterhooks, waiting for the dad to reappear at any moment. Like someone else said...RUN! This was a very difficult chapter to read. It's hard to imagine anyone treating another human being so callously and cruelly, let alone your own flesh and blood. Sadly, I know it's reality for far too many. You are portraying it very realistically.

Poor Stefan. Like another reviewer said...I'm afraid of the 'more'. I'm wondering about his father's absence...is it because Stefan is in the basement or did he abandon him? Any time without his father is good. Maybe social services will check in on him since he's missing so much school. I don't imagine his father would have the foresight to call and say that Stefan's 'sick'. My heart broke for him when the principal didn't even bother to get his side of the story. I've been bullied in front of teachers before and they did absolutely nothing, so I know the sinking feeling of thinking you're rescued, when in fact you're not. It wasn't nearly as bad as anything Stefan went through, but I can still relate. I'm going to continue to hold out hope that things get better soon. You're doing a great job portraying an abused youth.

I've already read Cynus' "King of the Maze" and it's well worth the read. I look forward to checking out the other two stories. I love Halloween.

Poor Stefan. I feel so bad for him that he has to live with that prick of a father. I wonder what's up with those girls? I'm with him in thinking that it's nothing good. Good thing he's smart enough to not fall for whatever they're up to. Another good chapter.
