  1. Kitryn watched as Meg’s mouth dropped open. She let go of the door in time for Fran to jump into her arms. “Where you been? You said you’d be back. Why did you no come back?” Fran fired questions rapidly and Kitryn finally snapped out of his shock. “Fran hush. Meg, as much as I want to get the same answers as Fran, I need somewhere out of the sun to put Simon. He’s heavy and won’t wake up for at least another few hours.” Meg nodded numbly and, still holding Fran, she led the way t
  2. Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments. I wanted to do something romantic for Valentine's day and Terry and Billy came to mind after their eventful Christmas introduction. I had fun researching for this story. New York has a lot of events on for Valentine's day. I went with the Hornblower Cruise because it seemed to fit everything I needed to set up the proposal. I'm glad so many of you enjoyed the finished short story, and thank you for reading and commenting. I hope you all had a good day for Valentines

    Saying Goodbye

I actually wavered between reactions for this one, moggy. Yes, it is very sad, but there is also a lot of love in it too. I settled on a sad, but loving goodbye Wonderfully written as always, my friend, the emotions your work contains touches me every time
  6. Sorry I couldn't be of help, I'd forgotten about the parts still waiting to be fixed/updated.

  8. I looked at my reflection and tried to remind myself to breathe. A glance at the clock told me it was only five minutes later than when I’d last looked and I still had twenty minutes before I had to go and pick up Terry. I still couldn’t believe he’d agreed to go to his mother’s so I could pick him up to go on our date. He thought it was romantic, even though we’d been dating two years and living together for six months. I’d filled his other in on my plans and she would make sure he was wearing

    Chapter 5.1

Neither can I Def Thank you for reading and commenting
  10. Thank you, Sir.
  11. I sing or if there are other people around I may hum instead (since I can't sing in tune). I find by concentrating on the song/tune it takes my mind off the fear. An example: I used to have to go to work as a cleaner at three in the morning. I walked through my town's town center and it was dark and quiet. Humming and singing to myself was the only way I stopped myself jumping at every little noise and shadow I passed. I find it helps in most instances.

    For My Friend

Beautiful in its sadness moggy. Sometimes all we can do for a friend is be there for them and hope we are enough of a light to help them find their way back to the present and all who love them.
  14. s to you both, my thoughts are with you both.
  15. “I’m tired. When can we take a nap?” “I’m hungry. Can I have a snack?” “I want to stop now. My feet hurt.” “Are we nearly there yet?” Kitryn gritted his teeth to stop himself snapping at the whining kits. It wasn’t their faults that they’d had to move so fast and so far. He shrugged his shoulders to get a blanket wrapped Simon into a more comfortable position. He was glad that Simon had refused his offer earlier in the night. They’d only been able to hunt a few time

  23. A friend emailed this to me and I wanted to share it with all of you. I warn you some of these may bring tears to your eyes *** These seem to capture the essence of real love. What Love means to 4-8 year old kids. Slow down for three minutes to read this. A group of professionals posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds: 'What does love mean?' The answers they got were broader, deeper, and more profound than anyone could have ever imagined! See what you think: 'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.' ~ Rebecca - age 8 'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' ~ Billy - age 4 'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' ~ Karl - age 5 'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' ~ Chrissy - age 6 'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' ~ Terri - age 4 'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.' ~ Danny - age 8 'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and just listen.' ~ Bobby - age 7 'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.' ~ Nikka - age 6 'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.' ~ Noelle - age 7 'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.' ~ Tommy - age 6 'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.' ~ Cindy - age 8 'My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' ~ Clare - age 6 'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' ~ Elaine - age 5 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.' ~ Chris - age 7 'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' ~ Mary Ann - age 4 'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' ~ Lauren - age 4 'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' ~ Karen - age 7 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.' ~ Mark - age 6 'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.' ~ Jessica - age 8 And the final one: The winner was a four-year-old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the neighbor's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'
  24. I loved the characters for this story. They were imaginative and funny. I also loved the slight twist at the end....but of course, I wouldn't want to spoil a readers fun, so people will have to read it to find out what it is A great read all round
  25. Thanks Def I have always thought people should keep their mouths shut about a lot of things, especially if they have things they don't want people knowing Thank you for reading and commenting
