    Well, apart from a total blowout between Josh and Roger, this is the kind of resolution you could expect in real life. You don't throw away 8 years just like that. It needs something more. I think Roger will fuck up big time somewhere along the line, causing Josh to see that they have a convenient relationship, not a loving one. It's a good thing Galen is moving towards a happier stage in life. That way he might be ready for a relationship with Josh when the time comes.

    Well, since Josh doesn't really leave the farm, I think Roger might find Josh in a not so boyfriendly position. I think his indifference to that situation will set Josh off. Sometimes, when you are in a bad relationship you end up trying to sabotage it just to get a reaction. In this case, however, I doubt Josh actually cares enough about Roger to do that. After 8 (!) years of this kind of relationship, neither party can be deemed to be all that interested. Seems more like convenience. Maybe Roger just finds himself someone new...

    To me, the notion that she did nothing wrong is symptomatic to the view of men. Still today, men are supposed to just grin and bear it. Male sufferers of domestic abuse are ridiculed. As the boy in this case, they are thought to always be ready and willing to have sex. Women have fought for years to break free from the constricting gender role given to them. During this fight, men have been mostly quiet about their own situation. Some of the progress for women have benefited men (for instance, fathers in Sweden can go on parental leave, a benefit women who wanted and needed to work fought for), but I think men would need a liberation movement of their own. But speaking up against this, takes guts. Just like those women 100 years ago, you'll need a very thick skin.
