Nice start Carlos. CJ's very lucky to have Cesar and Brett in his corner.
-
The family bond is alive and well and very expertly showcased in the birthday call to Brett. Follow up that up with the fun time at the game and all those touristy visits (had a lot to look up this chapter, but no worries, it was all very interesting). That ending with Liz though, a little concerning maybe...

It seems strange that I didn't notice it before - I've read this chapter a few times now - but tonight something occurred to me. While CJ's decision at the end to abstain from drinking - and to be aware of what is going on around him - is an important moment is his path to growing up, there is also an important moment for Owen at the beginning of the chapter. Owen's internal thoughts may not have come from the same place as CJ's , but they were important nonetheless. As in CJ's case, he is growing up and seeing the bigger picture before him. It's time to make adult decisions and leave childhood behind - and taking parental/grandparental wisdom with them as they go it on their own.

Hey tim Your words can be tough to read, but read them I will: -to show appreciation for your skill as a writer -to show support for you as a friend as you use words to slay what haunts you As always, nicely done -
Nice chapter Lit. I really like how Jason and Corey mesh together perfectly. Add the icing on the cake that Jason's parents love Corey like son also leaves me with warm fuzzies for this family. No if only I didn't have this foreboding feeling that Luc is going to mess up Jason's trip.....

Hey tim Three chapters in and I'm liking this story very much. I have to admit, I was a little worried as to the direction the story was headed after reading about the band of bad guys, but it seems Samuel has a band of his own and they're all good men who want to dispatch the bad guys. At least I hope that's what they are - and not a bunch of wolves in sheeps clothing. You've painted a very believable picture of life after the past. For Dave and Jae and Barry and his sons, I hope that life continues for them. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Comsie, you are an immensely talented writer. One of the first - if not the first - stories I read upon finding GA was My Only Escape. I admit to being disappointed that the story wasn't complete when I came to the final published chapter, but I got over that quickly and now patiently wait for the next Notification to come my way. When they come, they are an unexpected treat. I did see a comment from one reader that made me angry on your behalf - and others were too - that you were not writing/posting in a manner he/she felt you should. You are on no one's timetable but your own. Your stories are a gift and a privilege - not a right. I know it's not easy to shut out the negative stuff that comes your way, but just know that the positive far outweighs the negative. Of that I am sure - I guess we just need to tell you that more often, huh? -
Happy Birthday!!

Darn it, just lost my review. Trying again but this will be brief. I find it interesting that CJ and Owen (especially CJ) kept their 'relationship' platonic during this trip. Looking to make a connection beyond the superficial is my guess...even if neither is aware of that at this juncture. Whats up with Liz? I'm finding that a little concerning.... As for the talk about guns? Nice chapter Carlos.

Girls in Their Summer Clothes
Reader1810 commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Girls in Their Summer Clothes
So, what did I like about this chapter? Hmmm, let me think... Love Rod's remark about everyone 'knowing" CJ's name..but it is true, he is a popular guy. Bradley's somersault over the fence and the exuberant hug he gave his dad. Just shows how much he missed - and is making up for now - the closeness and affection he feels for his dad. Having "Pops" stand back and watch the reunion of the three Kennedy men was poignant - I'm sure he was loving how happy his hubby is being with his boys. Thiago getting (because he can't not get it) the scholarship. Even though Mrs. Edwards had the final say in who was nominated for the scholarship, Thiago is a perfect choice. This is the first to be awarded so having someone they know receive it is better than an unknown if there are any glitches - easier to deal with the known than the unknown, in my opinion. CJ and Ritchie's conversation - always good to see that these two keep in contact and that their emotional closeness has not suffered due to their physical distance. Boys night out. What can I say? They are young and they had fun and it was all harmless. Another great chapter Carlos. I was a little tired tonight, so I'm surprised I have said so much, I guess the caffeine in my iced coffee woke up by brain. -
I knew you'd find it Drew. I tried but to no avail. Edit: Okay, that's not what I was looking for so no wonder I could not find it. I thought there was another story recommendation thread. Ah well, guess not.

Chapter 28 Come In From The Rain
Reader1810 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 28 Come In From The Rain
Aww Gary.... That was sad and yet beautiful at the same time. Letting go has to have been hard, but holding on probably wouldn't have been good either. I wouldn't have expected you to be able to sever ties that easily; your heart is just too full of goodness to ever be that cold and indifferent to something of that importance. Your are a good man, but more importantly, a good human being - don't you ever forget that. And hey, my uncle who is now 86 found love at 75 - not saying you need to wait that long, uh uh - but you know what I mean. A sad refrain yes, but beautifully rendered, my friend. -
I prefer the place your mind went over the other....
