    Chapter 25

Love that they have moved in together (showing us the move was nice too rather than just seeing the end result) and that the rents are going to be their first guests - they may be staying at a hotel (smart move mom ) but they will be over at the house as dinner guests etc. so that counts! As always, great chapter Lit.

    Chapter 24

Here I am late for class again...*hangs head* A lot has already said, so I'll just say I enjoyed this chapter - another homerun out of the park Lit!
  4. Happy Birthday!!

    me Zombie

Hey tim Pat yourself on the back - or better yet, have Michael do it - because that tale was an excellent interpretationof the Zombie genre. More mystery and intrigue than blood and guts. That ending though - uh oh. Beginning of the end for poor Stephen, I fear. You've also managed to show what it was like for all new medicines as doctors strove to conquer what was once incurable. I know there's a word for this type of parallel, but it escapes me at the moment. As always, nicely done.
  6. Reflection # 27 spells it out most clearly. Doing what is right isn't easy but it does take a lot of courage. That is something you have in spades, my friend. Powerful words, Gary, powerful words...
  7. Smart cat. No surprise though, he's a Penguin.
  8. More "wow" than good news but it is interesting

    Desire

Hey tim You've expressed perfectly - in words and feelings - how mundane but necessary things in life can get in the way of living be it with the one you love or just doing what you love. Suggestion, take a walk - with Michael, of course - by the lake as you did when you were saying goodbye to Ripley - I recall it did you both some good. It's quieter there now (at least, I've known it to be quieter this time of year) but remember to bundle up and no ice cream - too cold for that. As always your way with words is amazing. Thanks for sharing with those of us not capable of such mastery.

    You've Got It

Poor CJ feeling like he was a cramp in his dads' style. I like the conversation that he and Rod had about Rico's helping Cesar (and by extension Brett) become a "Monday to Friday" parent (and Rod's assurances that he was overjoyed to be a MtF P) when previously all he really had to be concerned about was the "Saturday" stuff - full disclosure, I stole that from an episode of Trapper John, MD. It may be a couple (or three) decades old but the meaning behind those words have stuck with me to this day. "And I want to be like them when I grow up.” Aww... CJ loves his dads so much he wants to be just like them And the last bit, poor Brett but he should know by now that raising a teenager has its ups and its downs.
  12. Methinks you've covered just about everything. This was delightfully insightful.

  17. Oops, missed the one. How many times have said "I'm fine" when we really weren't fine? It almost seems like an autonomic response nowadays. I guess putting on that facade is easier...but is it really? Gary, you are an excellent teller of fictional tales but you are also capable of great insights too.
  18. Def has declared herself late so I think it best I declare myself really really late. Apart from saying, I really enjoyed this chapter, I have only one thing to say... I need to go on a road trip! Oh, and the "ancient" (thanks for that Dugh! ) biker - is he an Easter egg by chance?
  19. No longer considered to be in my prime I beg to differ on that point. As I see it, you are in your prime as an author and you've still got a long way to go before the end is in sight.
  20. So that's your "ancient Chinese secret" Awesome!
  21. Funny, but I don't remember having nightmares as a kid. Then again, my rag doll protectors (one on either side of me in my bed) were fierce warriors despite being filled with stuffing. Lucky me...
  22. I hope that regardless of its name, it worked.
  23. Hey tim This is a really terrific story and I'm inclined to say I want to hear more about Eddie and Jamie. However, when I really think about it, what you've given your audience is just enough. The HEA can be seen on the horizon and that brings a smile to my face and warmth to my heart not to mention putting my imagination in overdrive! As always, nicely done.
  24. Oh, Gary. don't you know? Mother's know everything! Nicely done, my friend
