Chapter 58 You Can't Win Without Trust
Reader1810 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 58 You Can't Win Without Trust
I almost forgot about this because it got knocked off my Notifications list (sorry, my brain is kind of a out of sight out of mind kinda brain ) I do recall posting about the shenanigans during breakfast. It was an instant delight so I had to mention it right away as I recall. Anyhoo, just skimmed the chapter to remind myself about all the goodies it contained - the frolicking, the snowball fight, the frolicking, the headless snowman, the frolicking, the Cavanaugh sweaters, the frolicking... Oh, and the awesome gifts that Bodie and Nate gave to each other. Are you sure they're only in their teens? I have to say the only thing that leaves me wanting is that this amazing bunch of people aren't real. Life would be sweet with them in it, don't you think? As always Gary, nicely done. -
Despite of a lousy start to CJ's New York trip, I'm glad things settled down and he was able to enjoy himself with Chipper, Christina and Doc. Speaking of Doc, what a cool guy he is taking a six teenagers to lunch. Christina is a great too and I really like how she can hold her own with the boys. There's also that bit about her conversing with Bradley. I wonder where that is headed? Hmm. I've never been to New York and never really felt a need or desire to go there either. Not surprising, your descriptions of the place - as you have done for previous locales - has me changing my tune a bit. Maybe someday, I'll go... Great chapter Carlos. I am looking forward to is CJ's return to Walls and the ensuing fallout from the mess that was Jose-Maria and Bernardo. I wonder if a flak jacket or a reinforced bunker can save J-M from Harley's wrath - me thinks he is going to be one very pissed off BFF!

Chapter 1 - Simon Peter
Reader1810 commented on Cole Matthews's story chapter in Chapter 1 - Simon Peter
Nothing really ominous in this chapter except maybe the boyfriend's having to work late. As soon as I read that passage, the warning bells started ringing. I really don't have a good feeling about that situation. As for Simon Peter, I'm curious as to what role he will play in this story. -

The Last Leaf - O Henry Prompt #2
Reader1810 commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in The Last Leaf - O Henry Prompt #2
Hey tim I'm having lots of different thoughts about this story, but what leaps out at me is the generosity of Bobby's heart. He had so little, but what he did have he shared with others. He took care of Damian without complaint putting his needs before his own. He picked up Mr. Behrman's 'medicine' without comment or censure. It was just the 'right thing to do'. I didn't read the prompt so I don't know if Bobby's attitude was a product of that, but I see it more as a product of your personal philosophy from the things you've said about what you see as being important and of value. As for the correlation between the last leaf and Mr. Behrman's passing, I see that but I'm just not sure if it's a coincidence or there is some deeper connection. I gather there was a connection as far as Mr. Behrman was concerned. As always, nicely done. -

That's what I get for being away for the weekend - hauling leaves not vacationing is what I was doing - and not deleting the link from my email before I left, so I forgot I had done it already. Oops...

Hey tim I enjoyed reading about the memories expressed in your poems - very life and other-life affirming they were. It seems like just yesterday it was day one. That day is long gone on this journey you undertook with much success. The finish was excellent and you have more than earned the right to rest on your laurels. Feel free to throw us a crumb now and then, will you? As always, nicely done.

Hey tim Really quite late with this review. I had started it before, but it wasn't coming out right. After reading it again, my thoughts are less cloudy. I loved the poems for Ripley. Even in the sadness for his loss or maybe because of it, the love felt for that furry little being is strong and true. What a lucky boy he was to have you and Mike be his people. Planting the seeds - so serious it seems. Having a beer - felt like your thought did a 180, I know mine did. As for Tinkerbell, what did she ever do to you? Then again, I guess she is like a fly buzzing around, eh? lol As always, nicely done,

Like avidreader, I am disappointed in Jose-Maria as well. I could give him the benefit of the doubt and say he probably would have stopped his cousin, but Sean's arrival prevented that from happening. Then again, maybe he would have just gone along with it. One thing is for sure, I think his name will now be Mud at Walls. I don't see any way for him to make that incident go away... What a good thing for Papa Bear to be so protective of his cub - Bernardo's just lucky it was Sean and not Brett that came through that door... CJ's reaction to the guy at the gym wasn't surprising. It's a good thing that Sean was there to pick up the pieces because he can support CJ appropriately without being overly emotional which wouldn't be good for CJ. I want to say more, but I have to go now. Will check back in later on my phone.
