Let's see if they can impress Valrinda with their gratitude.
  3. Not what you're thinking.

    Chapter 19

I hope the ore wisps appreciate Beckett having empathy and concern for their well being. It could serve to forge a true bond between them.

    Chapter 34

You may attempt to hide, but you will be translocated back to your point of origin.
  6. I thought this was what you use on a tablet when your hands are busy.

    Chapter 19

I doubt Valrinda would appreciate the comparison to a human teen girl. After this attack, I'm wondering how many more possible dangers Valrinda has neglected to mention.

    Chapter 34

I don't believe Lodda would be eager to engage in full battle on the ship unless he's forced to. Too much would be damaged.

    Chapter 34

Even the clever lens will require time to process all it has seen. The others who came from the gate were wrong to see magic as a great threat as it seems a unique anomaly in this universe and confined to this system. There is more to Porvus than we thought, but he still can't be trusted. We should soon see the capabilities of Lodda. I hope any nasty surprises are manageable.

    Chapter 33

It's a given the two oracles should have differing agendas. The turning point was when the city oracle began making demands and these master idiots didn't ask it why or simply refuse and turn it off.

    Chapter 21 S1

It occurred to me while Devin was teaching Mac we are often looking without seeing in depth what we are observing. This motion exercise could have been easier if videoed and played back in slow motion. I can see how unnatural all these movements would be for humans. I don't plan trying galloping. I can already imagine trying to explain how I fractured a limb while on all fours.

    Chapter 33

The irony and comeuppance here is deep. Porvus and Lodda placing mental controls on others to follow their will only to b egin blindly obeying the demands of a machine is a hoot. For Lodda himself to fall under thrall of the oracle on the ring adds a cherry on top of the whipped cream. The master plotters have become mere pawns in the chess game of a machine. The priority here is for this world to remain isolated and safe. Traveling away from this world, while adventurous, would be folly. The oracle on the ring had to be under the control of the enemies of this world and now directs the damaged one. Porvus is hardly open. We still don't know how the enemy was destroyed or where the weapon which did it is at.
  13. The clip with Pesci and the great Fred Gwynne is one I remember every time I see the word youth. It's hard to wrap my head around why Fred's grave is unmarked. No one seems to know a reason.
  14. I just can't see myself doing it. I don't do breaks.

Not a likely scenario. Thorvil knows his boys and they have oodles of witnesses.

Well, Miss Cleo is deader than Caesar, so there goes that option.

    Chapter 32

This 'ghosting' is an entirely new application of magic. They are using it now to spy and translocate through solid objects, but could it also be used with offensive magic to go through shields? From Porvus' words, Lodda has been transformed into something else, presumably using the technology of the ancients and is now pursuing goals which threaten the entire world and even the evil hearted Porvus is worried enough to join with their enemies. Now this is a twist I didn't see coming. Like Snave says, you can't trust Porvus. I feel only Jamie should be seen in this meeting. Lodda was described by other mages as a wraith. What has he become and what additional powers has he gained? It's odd Lauten made no mention of this.

For a variety of reasons. You've never had a headache until you've had a nitro headache.
  22. I've been told I have a great imagination, but it fails me to entertain delaying a read so long.
  23. You need to read The Case of the Short, Short Prince which is ongoing now.
