  1. Dean Martin was another fake drunk. His drinks onstage were apple juice. Now Jackie Gleason's onstage "How sweet it is" coffee mug contained pure scotch.

    Chapter 1

This was very well done, James and very unlike the Ravello tales. All the wonderful descriptive content was here, but the ghost aspect took me for a loop. I started to suspect something was off when he couldn't find his cell phone and then never followed up on it. How many teens could stand to be without one? Great job!

    Chapter 36

We were going to go back and look for you in the tunnels. It's easy to lose folks while invisible.
  5. I associate bayberry with Christmas. We always burned the aromatic green candles during the holiday. The leaves are used to make bay rum.

Good thing the dollar is so cheap then. Being in NY, you can use Canadian quarters.

    Chapter 36

A nether writing studio is a good idea.
  9. Nothing in particular. I've always been a night owl. It was also easier to drive fast at night with no traffic and I liked to drive fast. Easy to do when the police won't stop you regardless what you do.
  10. I used to enjoy prowling around at night.

    Chapter 36

The last and only gray mage we saw after encountering Porvus was the one with him who ran off. Before that they saw others in the city and others were out searching for them. Lodda had called others into space to 'help' him, but what could they do there? The ship managed itself and the repair bots were doing the work on the gateway. They weren't sensed on the ship. So where were they and why were they needed? Perhaps Lodda and the Oracle weren't as successfull in getting machines to use magic as we thought and those machines in the bay had to incorporate at least part of a gray mage in order to work.

One thing left unaddressed by all, what of the rest of the gray mages?

    Chapter 36

You can't run out of something you apparently can't use. No prison is inescapable. If you're familiar with Krypton lore, you'll recall the Phantom Zone; it was inescapable too.

    Chapter 36

Unity, love, and friendship saved the day. Lodda, Porvus, and the Oracle couldn't fully trust each other and work together in a meaningful way. Lodda was a narrow-minded fool. His plans would never have worked. They were based on too many flawed conceptions. The idea he would try to leave this system with only accumulated magic is one of them. There are still some unknowns. The ship was heavily damaged, but the Oracle still exists. Lodda is exiled to a prison of his own making, but he has an eternity to forge an escape. Anything is possible. There is the possibility of new adventures in the future and I hope we'll see them in time. This one was marvelous.

You might be surprised how popular it would be.

Light, dark, fire, water, earth, lightning. The only natural force which seems missing in this family is air. I knew Wren would take Wyn's escapade well. It was so devious. Now comes the time to rebuild and reform. They didn't do so well last time. Hopefully, those lessons create something more stable. At least until the next trial.

    Chapter 35

No, if the plan is to wage war on the other side of the gateway, they'd need limitless power and Lodda seemed willing to go through and let the gateway be closed. A generator is the only answer. Remember Jamie was stunned by the number of magicons and he's been to the source.

    Chapter 35

Earth is only a figure of speech, besides they were on the moon. I don’t believe this is our Earth.

    Chapter 35

The oracle has built a magicon generator, which is why Lodda is willing to go through the gateway on his crazy crusade. I don't trust Lodda or the oracle. With the gateway activating and ship moving, they need to begin destroying something.

He's learned the why, but he's yet to be able to use this knowledge in a meaningful way.

Let's see if they can impress Valrinda with their gratitude.
