    Chapter 22

We came to the same thought on kinetics.

    Chapter 22

Technically, the laser itself isn't the problem. They need a way to reflect or make the kinetic energy flow around them.

    Chapter 22

With their shields they would be harder to drown. Plus the tunnels are higher than the drainage system. They could try a trap, but they are still unaware Jamie can translocate everyone.

    Chapter 22

The primary reason physical mirrors don't reflect all spectrums of light is due to fine scratched on the optical surface. Presumably, with a magically generated one this wouldn't be an issue.

    Chapter 21

    I'll take a case of Punnay 1991.

    Chapter 21

Actually, they are and have been. This is a railway tunnel. No reason I see they might not be needed there.

    Chapter 22

You have to admire Gorge for his intrepid nature and fortitude. He's canny and shrewd as well. All of the lowland peoples seem nice, except the mages. Our guys have had the advantage of Porvus being overconfident, reacting too slowly, and without multilayered attacks. It's allowed them time to adapt and prevail. They can't expect this to remain so.

    Chapter 21

You would think the ancients would have designed these bots to be moved more efficiently on those cars. The only reason they weren't caught by surprise was the scraping.

    Chapter 21

Originally, when Porvus used the com center term, I thought in terms of communications, but they are command and control centers and Porvus is at the master controls.

    Chapter 21

They already have someone who fought Porvus, Snave.

    Chapter 21

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Nietzsche seems apt here. Now we know the bad mages do have battle machines. Porvus must be having a conniption fit.
  12. I presume they also don't like cereal, which is nothing more than a cold porridge.
  13. At least no modern marketing experts have tried to playfully name a product Swill.
  14. Porridge isn't swill.

    Chapter 17

Even large dragons like Valrinda aren't safe from some of the dangers of this world. For Beckett, the hardship of trying to avoid possible troubles might be more grueling than the troubles themselves.

    Chapter 20

    Typically, for them.

    Chapter 20

Hopefully, it will engender some terror in the arrogant asses.

    Chapter 20

I think he would have to have been there when the magic was done to know how to undo it.

    Chapter 20

This quest began with the innocent and naive notion it would be limited to somehow making Urvan undo his rather minor curse on Sedwick. The enormity of the evil the Forest Mages are doing has finally sunk in. The reality they will need to exact final justice has hit Jamie hard. Killing, even in the cause of good, hadn't been cause for thought until he was faced with it. It seems the Knack is slowly awakening in the peoples of the lowland. Where will this trend lead?

    Chapter 16

Delivering payloads to a certain, fixed orbit would be a possibility for the rockets. Though we've yet to see any launch site for much larger space vehicles.
  21. Sorry, @raven1@Bill Wbut the wilder the ride, the better.

    Chapter 19 S1

I'm a bit surprised Mac didn't get put on the spot to elaborate what he'd learned while researching his 'trip.' You have to be prepared to back up a deception. In a way it's satisfying he isn't more skilled at deceit.

    Chapter 19

It's too soon to say it's not fusion. We've seen they had machines repairing and maintaining machines. There would certainly be something similar taking care of something as vital as power.

    Chapter 19

They are benefiting greatly by proceeding at a sure yet moderate pace. It's allowing them to accumulate the skills and knowledge they will need for the confrontation to come. As Snave says, simply working together and freely sharing puts them ahead of the enemies they face. Now who or what has died in this desolate place?
