I believe they are now a match for any magic attacks launched against them, even from Porvus or the vaunted Lodda. I don't believe we've seen all of the ancients weapons yet. One thing they are still vulnerable to are airborne chemical or biological agents since the shields pass air.

Our Jamie is on the threshold of discovering the true nature of magic. It can only unlock more wonders and power. Of all of them, it was Bastyin who destroyed the battle bot with a new magic spell of his own. Didn't see that coming. And it was this awesome force which led Jamie to his epiphany.

They will follow Jamie's lead, but he would listen to Dorf and Dorf would say stick to the limited goal plan. A lot more is involved than simply releasing them and the bad ones would have to b e killed on the spot. The fox doesn't go into the henhouse and try to take more hens than he can carry.

It would have been unrealistic for the Father to support Jonny's methods. Christianity defeated the power of Rome with belief rather than by sword, even though there is a time for war. You rarely get a holy sanction for it.

The thing about staying and trying to release more mages is a timer is running on a counterattack. How many would die? Probably close to all.
