  1. Let's ask Paya some yes/no questions. Is he a TV personality?
  2. Of course, Graeme does use words like shouldn’t’ve.
  3. I've had this conversation with Graeme recently. I would have to say our author is apostrophobic.
  4. I'll be interested in Graeme's response, too. "Jerk" certainly doesn't have the same impact as "bastard". And, it lacks the edge of most other four letter words. It's subtlty must come in part from overuse. I think Clarissa is too much a lady to cast aspersions on Liam's parentage. After all she does know his parents. Most girls don't take being jilted lightly. Clarissa hasn't displayed any self pity. It's no surprise that she treats Liam with a modicum of respect.
  5. I handed the teller at my bank a withdrawal slip for $400.00. I said, "May I have large bills, please". She looked at me and said, "I'm sorry sir, all the bills are the same size." When I got up off the floor, I explained it to her.
  6. I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles. So, everyday I walk down the street and tell people what I ate, how I feel, what I did, and what I will do next. I also listen in on conversations of others and tell them 'I like'. I even 'poke' them, and it really works. I already have three people following me....a policeman, a psychiatrist and a psychologist.
  7. Cat fights a cat figurine https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8hqdnP5r8JU I like the little dance step and the body slams.

  9. Does he have a PA?
  10. Welcome, Happenstance! You'll find a comfortable place here at GA. My reading recommendation for someone your age would be Desert Dropping by DomLuka.
  11. I think someone is missing the purpose and spirit of GA. Edited to add: I have no way of deleting this now meaningless post. It was a response to a poor choice of words in a post which has been deleted.
  12. Spring has sprung...at last. Only in the northern hemisphere. Sorry Oz. Today is the vernal equinox, the first day of spring. Everyone knows what that means...
  13. Be sure to see https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/23393-make-us-laugh/?p=506393
  14. Celtic Thunder...my favorite, too.
  15. Not Shirley Temple, huh? Looks like her. Is it some other child movie star?
  16. Not funny, Valkyrie.
  17. Here you go, Billy:

    On Being Old

This morning I shook hands with and wished a happy birthday to a man who is 99 years old. That's quite a milestone. I can't reasonably expect to live that long. My parents died in their eighties. My father's sister died at 42. Both of my grandmothers died in their forties...before I was even born. I occasionally tell people that I never had a grandmother. I know I must best satisfied with the years I have, however many and make the most of that time. "Do not pity your gray and withered elders, because they have already banked many good and productive years, which can never be taken away from them, not by misfortune and not even by death." Thanks for that sentiment, Drak.

    Chapter 1

I'm sure you know this is your first story at GA in about four years. It's been quite a drought, but we are refreshed once again and just At the Right Time. I agree with Carrington...polished, professional, and convincing. Welcome back, Jian. I'm happy for your new situation and the result we have to enjoy in this story. Please keep us entertained.
  20. Today is 3/14/15 Time to celebrate 3.1415 Think I'll go bake a pie. My father always had a knack for bad jokes and he used to tell one about a bumpkin learning math. The country boy took issue with the equation, "Pi R squared," quipping "Pie are round. Cornbread are square!" Of course, the joke makes no sense in the South, where we know the best cornbread is made in a round skillet.
